Over the course of the first season, Reece exacts revenge with the help of his friend and former teammate Ben Edwards (Taylor Kitsch). Hulu has no doubt about the future of its legal drama, Reasonable Doubt, as the streamer just renewed the series for a third season. The Kerry Washington-produced show has been a low-key hit since it debuted in 2022, so it's not surprising to see it getting another installment. Some fans, however, were unsure about its fate, as its second season concluded almost a month ago.
But there are no objections, as far as The Hollywood Reporter can tell, to this show returning to court.
The well-reviewed (and received) series came to Hulu from the Onyx Collective, with executive producers Kerry Washington, Pilar Savone, Larry Wilmore, and Anton Cropper. Creator and showrunner Raamla Mohamed also serves as an executive producer. Mohamed was also a former writer on Scandal the show that made Washington a household name. The series has a 100% fresh rating for both seasons on Rotten Tomatoes.

Over the years, there have been many TV shows that never really got the chance to shine but have since gained a strong following of dedicated fans despite getting only one season and as few as seven episodes. These series made such a strong impact on viewers that they continue to accrue new fans all the time sometimes decades later.

[This story contains spoilers from the season two finale of Reasonable Doubt.]
Michael Ealy’s Reasonable Doubt character Damon Cooke seemingly rose from the dead in the Hulu legal drama’s season two finale. But his return was, as it turned out, only in the mind of series lead Jax Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi), who found herself playing an internal blame game when the realities of Lewis (McKinley Freeman) having a baby with another woman began to set in.
Jax’s train of thought isn’t totally off track, as her affair with Damon, as well as with a former co-worker, were the catalyst for the couple separating and Lewis sleeping with Toni (Tristan Cunningham), who loses their baby after going into labor early in the season two finale. At the end of season one, Jax’s romance with Damon took a dark turn when his possessiveness led him to kidnap the defense attorney and later commit suicide when authorities arrived to rescue her.

[This story contains spoilers from the Power Book II: Ghost series finale.]
On the very first episode of Power created by Courtney Kemp and executive produced by rapper-turned-tv mogul Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson back in June 2014, there was no way of knowing that the kid in the nice penthouse apartment asking his mother Tasha (Naturi Naughton) if his father James St. Patrick (Omari Hardwick), who spoke fluent Spanish, could “hook up” his Spanish homework as she served breakfast was on his way to becoming a drug kingpin. At that point, the young Tariq didn’t even know his father was himself a kingpin known on the streets as Ghost (Hardwick). And that his mother also knew. Michael Rainey Jr. was just a few months from turning 14. Now a decade later, just over a week after turning 24, he’s closed out another series.
When Power Book II: Ghost premiered Sept. 6, 2020, the pandemic had put the whole country and world on a life-turning timeout.

Spoiler Alert: The following reveals major plot points from the series finale of Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost.
After four short seasons, Starz’s Power Book II: Ghost is officially over following tonight’s series finale titled “Ghost in the Machine.” This won’t be a recap of the episode as we will be breaking all that down tomorrow with two of the show’s biggest stars, but rather it’s to discuss Tariq St. Patrick’s (Michael Rainey Jr.) Marvel moment, if you will, at the end of the episode following the credits.
Baby Ghost, as Tariq is often referred to, lives to see another day and with that, there was a tease that more Power is ahead. That says to me they can continue telling stories through Tariq in a new show set in present day. Add to that the upcoming series finale of Power Book IV: Force,...

Detective and crime TV shows are always being produced, and while some make headlines, there are plenty that fly under the radar. However, that doesn't mean these shows are any less compelling or lack the drive to capture audiences' attention. While the crime procedural uses many of the elements of the detective series, there's a central difference between them. Procedurals focus on a new crime every week, while most prestige detective shows look at an overarching narrative that takes many twists throughout a season. This creates further opportunities for character development and narrative turns.
Plenty of detective TV shows like Sherlock follow the story of a central investigator who's tortured by their past but is also the best at what they do. However, the other characters who make up these dramas' ensembles are equally important, as the mystery of who committed the...

The final season of Power Book II: Ghost will go down as the most watched show ever on Starz.
The drama, which is headed toward its series finale on Oct. 4, is averaging 10.5 million viewers across all platforms, measured for 90 days post-premiere. (Several years ago, Starz noted that season five of Ghost’s predecessor, Power, averaged 10.8 million viewers, but over a longer span of time than 90 days.)
The Power franchise, which encompasses four series, has set a number of ratings records for Starz. The flagship series displaced Spartacus as Starz’s most watched show at the time back in 2015 and continued to roll up big audiences over the course of its run. Ghost, Book III: Raising Kanan and Book IV: Force — which notched the biggest opening weekend for any series premiere in the channel’s history — have also pulled in strong viewing numbers over their runs.

A half-dozen showbiz figures, each of whom hails from a marginalized community within America, have recorded a public service announcement that is launching on Tuesday — which is National Voter Registration Day, and exactly seven weeks to the day from the 2024 presidential election — calling upon their fellow Americans to register to vote.
Participants in the campaign — which was organized by the media production and management consultancy Icon Mann and will air 48 times on the Revolt cable network from Sept. 17-29 — include producer/director Ali LeRoi, who created Everybody Hates Chris; Tony-winning stage and screen actress Anika Noni Rose; Grammy-winning singer/actress Estelle; actor/activist Jason Butler Harner; actor/producer Michael Ealy; Emmy-winning and Oscar-nominated actress Shohreh Aghdashloo.
Entitled “I, Too, Am America,” the bit was inspired by the 1926 Langston Hughes poem “I, Too,” which celebrates America’s diversity. The PSA was directed by Shadae Lamar Smith and features portraits by the aforementioned Ali LeRoi.

Melissa Gilbert is set to guest star in a two-episode arc on Season 12 of the long-running series When Calls the Heart, set to premiere on the Hallmark Channel next year. The news was shared with those who gathered at the show’s annual Hearties Family Reunion fan event in Vancouver, Canada.
Gilbert will portray Georgie McGill, who “shares a surprising past with one special Hope Valley resident,” per the announcement description. The opportunity to join the series arose through executive producer Michael Landon Jr., who connected with the veteran actress at the Little House on the Prairie 50th Anniversary Cast Reunion and Festival held earlier this year. The two shared the news in a panel discussion onstage at the Hearties Family Reunion.

Now, this is what I’m talking about.
This is the Power Book II: Ghost we’ve all come to love and revere over the years.
As a universe, Power has always been at its best when its varied plot points, as convoluted as they may be, coalesce and have all the characters together, whether they’re working against one another or something bigger than them.
(Courtesy of Starz)
We’ve finally reached that point with three hours to go.
While I may have lamented the emphasis on Carter and his crew during Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Episode 6, it all paid off here when they were in a much-diminished role, and Carter’s grandiose plan to eradicate violent crime by “owning” criminals all over the city slowly started to crumble.

[This story contains spoilers from season two’s first two episodes of Reasonable Doubt.]
Reasonable Doubt escaped the post-Hollywood strikes cancellation that impacted several other freshmen shows. Now in its second season, hotshot L.A. defense attorney Jax Stewart (Emayatzy Corinealdi) has lost a bit of her fire from last season.
After being kidnapped and nearly killed by Damon (Michael Ealy), a man she was convinced got incarcerated because she failed him as an attorney, Jax is understandably traumatized when the second season of the Hulu legal drama opens. She and husband Lewis (McKinley Freeman) are hooking up and in couples therapy, but aren’t officially back together. Their problem, however, has never been in the sheets. Instead, their main clash is over her work/wife balance, especially when it comes to their kids.

Roman Pearce underwent the most significant transformation in the Fast & Furious franchise, from potential lead to comedic relief. Vin Diesel's Dominic Toretto character has evolved from flawed criminal to hero, but Roman's change stands out the most. 2 Fast 2 Furious showcased the best version of Roman Pearce, adding depth to Brian O'Conner's character dynamic.
The Fast and Furious franchise has had a few changes over the years, however, the character who changed the most is surprisingly not Dominic Toretto. Releasing in 2001 and grossing $207 million worldwide, The Fast and the Furious introduced a world of illegal action-packed street racing starring Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel) and Brian OConner (Paul Walker). Since then, the racing franchise has released a total of 11 movies, including one spin-off, providing a complex timeline for the Fast and Furious movies and an ever-growing cast list. However, the release of Fast 11 will mark the end of the main series.

The shorts program, called Tcl Film Machine, offers development, financial and production support to working creatives, looking to enhance and elevate their films using AI tools. It will start with five entrants this year. Grants begin at $25,000 but could increase significantly based on talent and project.
“With explosive growth in AI, there is an urgent need for creatives who know how to apply AI tools to enrich their storytelling. At present, the industry offers limited pathways for professionals to further enhance their expertise,” said the streamer, which recently launched a production studio that will support the projects. It said a global production team of animators, VFX experts and AI engineers, customizing the latest AI tech, will help producers, writers, and actors in the program create premium content.

Power Book II: Ghost is delivering a big audience for its final season.
The Starz series’ Season 4 launched its first part on June 7, becoming one of the network’s largest debuts ever. Starz reports that the episodes drew 6.5M multi-platform viewers in their first week.
Notably, the network says that there was a sense of “urgency” from viewers to watch the latest episodes, with 11% of premiere day streams coming in the first hour after it launched.
It should come as no surprise that the Power franchise wields quite a bit of influence for Starz, considering that it has amassed 1.5B hours watched globally to date.
Power Book II: Ghost was canceled in March. The series was the first spinoff to come from Power, and it follows Ghost’s son who, after killing his father and covering up, attempts to start fresh and far from his father’s criminal empire. Unfortunately,...

Tariq and Brayden found themselves broke for a few days and were like...absolutely not.
They got a little taste of the life for many college students and were not about to run themselves ragged for pocket change when they had a skillset equipped to bring in the kind of money most people could only dream of.
Power Book II: Ghost Season 4 Episode 2 may have been an hour solely meant to set up the rest of the season, but even a transitional hour in this universe can be entertaining as hell.
Only Tariq could kill a man on campus and just waltz around the place like everything was chill. He was back at Stansfield, attending classes and doing his thing, while one person had the nerve to call him out, and they did so in the least threatening way possible.
Tariq has had a lot of luck on his side over the years,...
