Rustam Meliev

Rustam Meliev is a film director, actor, producer, screenwriter and director of photography. Born in Tashkent. In 2015 he graduated from the State Institute of Arts. In March 2012, Rustam became the director of the video "Farruh Soipov & Shaxriyor - We Play" on YouTube, which gained more than 2 million views. It was his first job as a music video maker. He has shot more than 50 music videos and commercials. Member of the Council of Young Cinematographers. Developer of the logo of the Youth Union of Uzbekistan. In 2018, he made a feature film "The Goal" commissioned by the police Department. Creative Director of the PROlogue International Film Festival 2018. In April 2023, the presentation of the Salty Lives art project about the women of Karakalpakstan took place in Paris. The first part of the art project was an exhibition of photographs-portraits of women of Karakalpakstan. Photographer Rustam Meliev captured women of different ages in national Karakalpak clothing on the picturesque salt marsh of Barsakelmes. The second part of the project is a short film directed by Rustam Meliev and cameraman Jahongir Ibragimov, shot with the participation of the heroines of the photo exhibition. In the finale of the film, the monologue of the Karakalpak mother is addressed to the whole world.
