- Joseph was born into a multicultural family in Sofia, Bulgaria, and has lived and studied acting in the United States. His mother is Black-Sudanese and Bulgarian, and his father is from Damascus, Syria, with one part of his family being Orthodox Christian and the other being Muslim, hence his mixed first and last name. He grew up speaking four languages and is fluent in American English, Bulgarian, Russian, and Levantine Arabic. His multicultural upbringing has given him a unique perspective evident in his work both in front and behind the camera, often portraying bilingual characters.
Joseph holds two awards from the Los Angeles Film Awards (LAFA) of 2019, including 'Best Narrative Short' for his short film 'Motives', and has worked closely with such names as Peter Billingsley, Erinn Hayes, Julie Hagerty on the set of the Warner bros. produced feature film A Christmas Story Christmas (2022), the official 2022 sequel to the American classic 'A Christmas Story'. He holds an M.F.A in both Film & Theatre from the Gerasimov University of Cinematic Arts, the oldest film school in the world, from which he graduated in 2020.
