Rachel Zegler's Snow White is expected to arrive in 2025, and even before the film hits the theaters, it has been shrouded with heavy criticism and controversy. The recently released trailer also seems to tease a magically infused The Hunger Games vibe with a suspenseful and dark soundtrack. Zegler will portray one of the most loved Disney princesses of all time, but before Snow White, she had already stepped into several tough roles, one being Maria in West Side Story.
Even though Zegler is still very new to the big screen, she has been featured in some of the biggest franchises. From DC Extended Universe to The Hunger Games to an A24 horror film, the actor is spreading her wings and showcasing her range, but of course, her best roles are always accompanied by her singing. Mary Marvel recast in "Shazam! Fury of the Gods" for both non-powered and super-powered selves, fitting with DC Comics history. Mary Bromfield stays to explore new powers, showing leadership qualities and wisdom, making her a key member of the superhero team. Grace Caroline Currey pulls double-duty as Mary Marvel in sequel, showcasing a major retcon but aligning with DC Comics lore.

Some iconic heroes weren't original members of famous superhero teams, joining later to become staples in the lineup. Characters like Star-Lord, Wolverine, and Kilowog made their mark in superhero teams after the groups were already established. The evolution of superhero teams showcases the dynamic nature of comic book storytelling and the long-lasting impact of new recruits.
When it comes to the sprawling comic book universes of Marvel and DC Comics, more superhero teams are fighting the good fight than fans can keep track of. Usually rostered by the most popular characters in each company’s back catalog of fictional creations, these teams — like the Justice League, Avengers, Suicide Squad, X-Men, and more — are defined by the champions who roster them, turning many of these heroes into household names in the process.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods stars Grace Caroline Currey and D. J. Cotrona recently recalled how challenging it was going to the bathroom while they were wearing their superhero costumes.
Curry and Cotrona, who played Mary Marvel and Pedro Peña, respectively, reflected on the difficult process of taking a comfort break while filming the Shazam! sequel during a panel appearance at Florida Supercon. "You need a team of seven to 12 people to go to the bathroom at all times," Cotrona said. "I did start to be able to do it on my own. And it was so exciting! It was like, I'm going to the bathroom! All on my own," Currey added, with Cotrona chiming in that he also managed a similar feat during production on Fury of the Gods, quipping that he "felt like a real boy" after going to the toilet unaided.

Contains spoilers for "Shazam! Fury of the Gods"
"Shazam! Fury of the Gods" has the unenviable task of opening during an unprecedented creative limbo. Is it the last shakes of the Dceu death rattle, or will these characters stick around for the soft-rebooted Dcu? Whatever cinematic universe it officially belongs to, it's an action-packed, fun adventure flick. The first one delighted fans and critics with its mix of "Big" meets "Superman." There's still plenty of that residual charm here, even when the big CGI battles take over.
Two years after the first movie's events, the Shazamily's day-to-day crime-fighting antics are about to escalate when three ticked-off deities, aka the Daughters of Atlas, appear — Hespera (Helen Mirren), Kalypso (Lucy Liu), and Anthea (Rachel Zegler). Miffed that the Wizard (Djimon Hounsou) bestowed the power of the gods to children, they vow to reclaim that power and rebuild the Gods' Realm, even if...

Most sequels have a tough enough job just living up to their first movie, and this one would have had a big enough job just being a sequel to the original Shazam! What director David F. Sandberg’s first movie had was the novelty of the story of a boy having the power to just speak a magic word and finding himself in his now adult “ultimate form”, plus the power of being nearly Superman’s equal (some would argue even more), a fun novelty super hero movie. The story also had the subplot of young Billy Batson’s quest to find his mother after having been in foster homes his whole life, only to realize that the foster home he is in has provided him with the family he really needed by the end of the movie. In the end, he creates the Shazam family,...

DC will need to crank the PR machine into overdrive if they want Shazam! Fury of the Gods to perform heroically at the box office. According to the first round of projections, New Line Cinema‘s superhero sequel is tracking for a low-end domestic debut of $35 million to $40 million. Meanwhile, optimistic analysts think the film will bank as much as the first film, which pulled around $53.5 million in North America.
It’s worth noting the $35 million prediction comes from Nrg, Hollywood’s leading research firm. They know a thing or two about reading tea leaves for blockbuster debuts. Still, they need to be corrected from time to time. There’s a chance Shazam! Fury of the Gods will overperform, but I’m not holding my breath.

Shazam! Fury of the Gods director David F. Sandberg explained why Billy Batson's superhero family has a silly name. Released in 2019, the original Shazam! film saw Batson (Asher Angel) granted special powers by the last remaining to become Shazam (Zachary Levi), an older super-powered version of Batson. Outmatched by Dr. Thaddeus Silva (Mark Strong) and the Seven Deadly Sins, Batson transferred his power to his adoptive family and transformed them into a superhero team.
In a recent interview with Total Film, Sandberg admitted that Batson's superhero family has a silly name in Shazam! Fury of the Gods. The director explained that family is a major thematic focus of the upcoming film and that their hometown has given the sibling team the name Philly Fiascos due to their bumbling crime-fighting ways. It’s rare to find a leaked trailer description that doesn’t come across as obvious fan fiction, but since SuperBroMovies has a respectable track record when it comes to superhero cinema intel, there’s reason to believe that this new summary of the next Shazam! preview just might be legit.
A few days ago, Sbm’s Daniel Richtman reported that the second proper trailer for Billy Batson’s big screen debut will be dropping on January 19th, and while it’s still a couple of weeks before we get some verification on the claim, Richtman has now gone as far as to break down the content of the preview, which contains a surprising number of references to a certain pair of cape-wearing Justice Leaguers.

Shazam! is on course to serve as the biggest contradiction yet to the old stereotype that Dceu movies are dark and moody, with the film’s first trailer suggesting a light and playful tone, along with a very child-heavy cast.
Like Bruce Wayne, the young Billy Batson is an orphan, but he’s hardly the brooding billionaire loner type, with the character seen posing with his foster family in a photo recently shared to Reddit. While 16-year-old Asher Angel shares the lead role with Zachary Levi, Grace Fulton of Annabelle: Creation fame plays the part of Mary Bromfield, seen here as the tallest of the group.
