- Nwamaka Chikezie is an independent film director and writer based in Abuja, Nigeria. Her most recent film as director is My Mama Na Ashawo, an experimental short which was nominated for best short film at the 2022 African International Film Festival. As a writer, Chikezie's credits include 16 episodes of Bino and Fino, a Pan-African animated series, Love's Deceit, the Nigerian adaptation of William Shakespeare's Othello. She has worked as editor on independent documentaries such as Displaced, a documentary about the effect of Covid19 on the Internally displaced persons in Nigeria.
As a freelancer, she works as an Assistant Director, Script supervisor and Continuity person for several film projects, Tv shows, Commercials and Documentaries.
Chikezie is engaged with building communities through video partnerships, empowering new and aspiring filmmakers and creatives to tell their own stories.
