Avatar: The Last Airbender is a masterpiece of a series featuring stunning animation, a great story, and unique worldbuilding that sets it apart. However, most fans will agree that what truly makes this series special is its amazing cast of characters that imbue these elements with meaning. Using the perspectives of multiple characters from both sides of the conflict, Avatar excels in character writing to a degree that is not often found in other television shows.
Nearly every character in Avatar has a rich backstory and complex personality that shows the time and care that went into their creation. Throughout the series, each character goes on a personal journey, whether for good or for ill. From Zuko’s iconic redemption to Sokka’s growth as a leader, Avatar has some of the best character arcs of any animated series and still deservedly receives praise for its writing all these years later.

Haru inspired Earthbenders to fight back, proving strength isn't just about combat power. Mai's betrayal of Azula changed the game, showcasing how words and heart can make a difference. The Mechanist's inventions aided the war effort, demonstrating that even non-fighters can be heroes.
Avatar: The Last Airbender features plenty of powerful characters who made all the difference during the Hundred-Year War. The entire world was saved when Avatar Aang used his overwhelming power to defeat Fire Lord Ozai, who was on the verge of destroying the entire world. Formidable benders like Katara, Toph, Zuko, and Azula also made a world of difference. But there is still room for the show's weakest characters to make a difference as well.
There are a few ways an Avatar character can be strong or weak, such as whether they can use weapons and elemental bending or not. Combat power is a good metric for...

Avatar: The Last Airbender is considered one of the best-animated TV shows of all time, and fans were rightfully hesitant when Netflix announced a live-action adaptation. For the most part, Netflix's Avatar: The Last Airbender has captured the essence of the original series, and it has already showcased many capable benders. If the Netflix series gets a second season, several more benders will appear, and some of them are quite strong.
The second season will focus on the Earth Kingdom - which means most of the new benders in Season 2 will likely be Earthbenders of various skills. That being said, there is a chance that Season 2 will introduce a powerful airbender that was mentioned in season one. It may also include some notable Firebenders.
