Tony Stark’s Mansion in Iron Man Is CGI—The House Doesn’t Exist
Image
Tony Stark’s mansion in Iron Man was all CGI (Photo Credit – Amazon Prime Video)

For all the Marvel fans who’ve daydreamed about moving into Tony Stark’s epic cliffside Malibu mansion—sorry, but it’s time for a reality check. That ultra-modern house, the setting for some of Iron Man’s most intense scenes, was pure CGI. When the Mandarin unleashed chaos on Stark’s home, it didn’t crumble into the ocean because it was never really there.

Yet, this fictional address, 10880 Malibu Point, made such an impression that fans wondered if they could spot it in real life. But a quick look at Google Maps shows an empty cliff at Point Dume. Zoning laws aside, no one ever built Stark’s mansion. And though some guessed it might be inspired by the Razor House (the real-life clifftop marvel in La Jolla owned by Alicia Keys), not...

Deadpool & Wolverine Get Bloody in Original Concept Art for MCU Movie
Image
Deadpool and Wolverine get bloody in a piece of Deadpool & Wolverine concept art by Marvel Studios' Director of Visual Development Andy Park. Prior to this, Age of Apocalypse Wolverine took center stage in a piece of Deadpool & Wolverine concept art by Phil Saunders.

Shared on to Instagram, the artwork in question sees Deadpool and Wolverine fighting as specks of blood fly about. In the first slide, the movie's title card appears next to them, while in the second slide, it appears above them. In the upload's description, Park avowed, "Deadpool And Wolverine concept art/keyframe of Deadpool vs. Wolverine in the Void! During preproduction on this film I couldnt just do one keyframe/illustration of these two fighting. Especially with my background as a comic book artist I had to do several."

Avengers: Endgame Concept Art Spotlights Deleted Opening Scene With Smart Hulk
Image
Avengers: Endgame begins with Clint Barton (Jeremy Renner) witnessing the devastating loss of his family following Thanos' "Snap" in the closing moments of Infinity War, but it seems Marvel Studios originally had a different opening sequence in mind for the Infinity Saga finale.

EW has shared some new concept art from the Marvel Studios: The Art of Ryan Meinerding book by Tara Bennett and Paul Terry, and it highlights some designs for an alternate opening scene with Smart Hulk (Mark Ruffalo) saving a bunch of people from a burning building.

It seems the plan was for the Green Goliath to be the only active members of the team at one point.

"As all the Avengers were gone, he was going to be the only one left, and you got to see him do some amazing things," Meinerding says in the book. "Hulk jumping off the building to save people inside...

Michael Keaton Addresses Potential Vulture Reprisal in Spider-Man 4
Image
Marvel fans are still in the dark over who will be the main villain of the forthcoming Spider-Man 4, but it is unlikely to be Michael Keaton's Vulture. The Spider-Man: Homecoming actor recently revealed that he has not yet been asked to return as the Spidey villain for the fourth Tom Holland-led Spider-Man movie.

During an interview with Screen Rant to promote his upcoming comedy movie Goodrich, Keaton was asked if Amy Pascal who produced both Spider-Man: Homecoming and Goodrich had been in touch about returning for Spider-Man 4 as Adrian Toomes/The Vulture. "Oh, wow. That's an interesting character, that guy. Actually, I was there for a minute in the second one... That really was fun experience, but I haven't talked to anybody about anything," Keaton shared, before jokingly adding, "I try not to talk to anybody. I really don't like people."

Deadpool & Wolverine's Rejected Cameo Perfectly Came To Life 4 Years Ago In This Incredible Logan Cosplay
Image
Deadpool & Wolverine couldn't host every Marvel movie cameo, but at least one reject can be witnessed in all its glory in a 4-year-old perfectly crafted cosplay. The myriad cameos in Deadpool & Wolverine made such a splash that they're still being talked about two months after its record-breaking release date. Despite being crammed to the brim with easter eggs, Deadpool & Wolverine's cameos that never came to pass still feel pertinent as fans lament the absence of such prominent X-Men movie legends as Storm and Cyclops. Yet, while he made multiple cameos, Wolverine's coolest variant was omitted nonetheless.

Thankfully, while Deadpool & Wolverine didn't feature a Weapon X cameo, @dorksidefitness provided a perfect look at what it might have looked like via Reddit four years ago.

1 Cut Deadpool & Wolverine Variant Avoided Undermining Henry Cavill's Cameo
Image
Cutting one Wolverine variant from Deadpool & Wolverine meant that Henry Cavill's shocking MCU debut avoided being undermined by a more interesting version of the clawed X-Men member. Marvel Studios' Deadpool & Wolverine was jam-packed with multiversal variants, as well as focusing on developing the story of Ryan Reynolds' Deadpool from 20th Century Fox's X-Men franchise. This meant there wasn't time to include all the exciting and hilarious variants that were originally planned for the movie, but one Wolverine who did appear might be grateful for that.

Wade Wilson's own variants had a fairly large role in Deadpool & Wolverine, as the Deadpool Corps battled the titular mutant heroes in service of Emma Corrin's sinister Cassandra Nova. Wolverine's MCU variants also delivered the entertainment factor, harking back to some of Logan's most iconic Marvel Comics stories. Perhaps his most crucial comic storyline was ignored, however, but Wolverine's history with the Weapon X program,...

New Logan Variant Revealed in Unused Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art
Image
Rumors of the McU's demise were greatly exaggerated as Deadpool & Wolverine came into the picture and shattered all sorts of records. It supplanted 2019's Joker as the highest-grossing R-rated film of all time, and a big part of that might be the sheer number of cameos the film was able to pull off. On top of familiar names like Chris Evans, Channing Tatum, and Wesley Snipes showing their faces, we got to see Hugh Jackman play many different versions of Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine 3.5/5

Deadpool & Wolverine Almost Made X-Men: Apocalypse's Best Scene Even Better & I'm Annoyed It Didn't
Image
New concept art from Deadpool & Wolverine has revealed a new variant, which I'm annoyed wasn't used in the MCU movie, as this could have improved on the best scene from 2016's X-Men: Apocalypse. Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman's debut in the MCU explored the multiverse more than most previous movies, bridging the gap between Earth-616 and Earth-10005, and introducing many new variants to live-action. Having said that, I think Deadpool & Wolverine could have showcased even more of the multiverse's potential, and new concept art has proven me right.

One of my favorite moments in Deadpool & Wolverine saw Ryan Reynolds' titular Merc with a Mouth journey to several different realities on the hunt for a replacement Wolverine. He meets a Wolverine of comic-accurate height, Patch, Old Man Logan, Fever Dream Logan, a Hulk-fighting Wolverine, the Cavillrine and the Wolverine from Marvel Comics' Age of Apocalypse, but...

Age of Apocalypse Wolverine Takes Center Stage in Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art
Image
Age of Apocalypse Wolverine takes center stage in a piece of Deadpool & Wolverine concept art by Phil Saunders. Before this bit of news, Deadpool & Wolverine concept art by Marvel Studios' Director of Visual Development Andy Park spotlighted Wolverine's brown and tan costume.

The second slide sees Wolverine standing as embers appear before him, while the third and fourth slides are blowups of the second. In the upload's description, Saunders avowed that Park had him working on "a couple of Variants," and this one was his take on Age of Apocalypse Wolverine.

Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art Shows Off An Unused Logan Variant From X-Men: Apocalypse
Image
The gargantuan box office success of "Deadpool & Wolverine" is both a blessing and a curse. If you're a Marvel Cinematic Universe fan, your beloved franchise has been saved by the Merc with the Mouth following a rocky few years that had many questioning whether the MCU was petering out. But if you're an MCU fan that fondly recalls the early years of the franchise, when the movies had a tad more in the way of story and character development, the success of "Deadpool & Wolverine" might be slightly concerning. That is to say that if "Spider-Man: No Way Home" and Ryan Reynolds' latest box office juggernaut are anything to go by, future Marvel Studios films — and, god forbid, blockbusters in general — might well devolve into simple montages of various cameos in an attempt to keep the money rolling in.

Regardless of how you feel about that particular nightmare future,...

Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art Reveals A Scene Not In The Movie And Hugh Jackman's Age Of Apocalypse Variant
Image
The "Art of" book for Deadpool & Wolverine goes on sale next month and Phil Saunders has just shared one of his keyframes for the movie.

This didn't make it into the threequel but, as the artist explains, "My first job was to visualize [a] homage to the iconic DeNiro/Pacino scene from Michael Mann’s 'Heat,' but with Deadpool opposite Wolvey at Kate Mantelini’s."

"I tried to put in as much character as I could and find a moment that would sum up their dynamic," Saunders continues. "I thought this would be *exactly* how a 'stealing fries' moment would work out between them."

It's a beautiful piece of artwork and one we'd imagine was used to try and find a feel for what Wade Wilson and Logan would look like on screen and how they'd interact.

Deadpool & Wolverine Concept Art Reveals Scrapped Weapon X Look - Main Image

Deadpool & Wolverine had so much great variants of Logan from his Age of Apocalypse look to his brown costume, but there were some versions that were left on the cutting room floor.

Deadpool And Wolverine Concept Art Reveals Unused Weapon X Logan Variant
Image
For many comic book fans, one of the most enjoyable and talked-about sequences in Deadpool and Wolverine saw Wade Wilson (Ryan Reynolds) jump to various different timelines/universes in search of a Logan (Hugh Jackman) variant to replace his world's anchor being after escaping from the Tva.

The Merc with a Mouth encountered several alternate reality versions of the iconic X-Man, including Old Man Logan, "Short King" Logan, Wolvie in a John Byrne-inspired brown suit as he faces off with the Hulk, Man of Steel star Henry Cavill as the "Cavillrine," and - arguably the coolest of them all - Age of Apocalypse Wolverine.

Now, concept artist Phil Saunders has shared some more of his work to Instagram, and it seems yet another Wolverine variant was considered early on in production: Weapon X!

AI Terms Have Members of Adg Local 800 Recommending a No Vote Against the IATSE Deal

Illustrators and matte artists within the Art Directors Guild Local 800 have issued an open letter recommending guild members vote against IATSE’s tentative deal with the studio in the ongoing ratification vote. The group is specifically opposed to the language in the deal surrounding “AI Systems.”

The letter follows another issued by members of another craft discipline within Local 800, the Set Designers Council, on Friday, that was also opposed specifically to the artificial intelligence terms in the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees’ tentative deal.

“We believe the language as proposed to be both detrimental in the short term, and sets a damaging precedent for our future negotiations, as well as for our sibling locals who are about to negotiate for themselves,” the letter reads. “Contract language is nearly impossible to change once ratified. The studios have starved us into this position. We are trapped between a rock and a hard place.

Tony Stark's Mid-Air Iron Man Suit-Up In Marvel's Avengers Had To Be Reverse-Engineered
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

2012's "The Avengers" represents the moment when the MCU officially claimed box office primacy throughout much of the planet. By the end of its theatrical run, it stood as the third highest grossing film of all time worldwide behind the James Cameron duo of "Avatar" and "Titanic," and, most importantly for Marvel Studios, served as a pump-primer for the Infinity Saga, which would culminate seven years later with "Avengers: Endgame" — currently the second highest grossing film of all time worldwide.

The studio's not-so-secret formula was basically threefold: a) cast charismatic actors, b) hire writers and directors with some degree of reverence for the Marvel universe and c) once moviegoers were hooked, give 'em the slam-bang, galaxy-spanning, eye-popping goods.

That last element required the films' various design teams — including sets, costumes and visual f/x — to get on the same aesthetic...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Concept Art Reveals Deleted Namor and Ironheart Scenes
Image
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever continues to be heralded as one of the McU's most successful sequels thanks, in part, to the additions of characters such as Namor and Ironheart in the story. However, new concept art confirms that Tenoch Huerta and Dominique Thorne's respective characters were set for more featured time in the film.

Via Instagram, concept artist Phil Saunders reveals new images from Wakanda Forever showing omitted scenes highlighting Namor and Ironheart. In one set of pictures, Namor can be seen riding astride an Orca with the rest of his Talokan army, an image which was transformed into a Funko Pop, but never made the film's final cut. Saunders also explained the original costume design for Namor before Huerta was cast. "In early images, I came up with a composite face for Namor before Tenoch Huerta was cast in the role, inspired by a mix of Javier Bardem and Gael Garcia Bernal,...

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever Concept Art Reveals Deleted Scenes And More Ironheart Action
Image
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever finally brought Namor the Submariner into the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, the character underwent some significant changes, with Atlantis swapped out for Talokan and his origin story rooted in Mayan legend.

While not everyone was happy about that, it went a long way in helping to differentiate Namor from DC's Aquaman.

Thanks to Marvel Studios concept artist Phil Saunders (who has spent the past year working on Disney's Tron: Ares), we have a new look at some sequences which didn't make it into the Black Panther sequel's final cut.

That includes a clash between Ironheart and Namora. "The script originally called for an extended battle between [Riri Williams] and [Namora] that would have taken them underwater," Saunders says. "It was inevitably cut to keep the focus on [Shuri] and [Namor], but gave me the opportunity to paint some dynamic shots."

We also see Namor riding an Orca into battle, an...

Though we're still waiting on an official announcement, we know plans are in place for a fourth Spider-Man movie, with stars Tom Holland and Zendaya set to reprise their respective roles.

After appearing in the previous three movies and playing quite an integral role in No Way Home, one would assume Peter Parker's pal Ned Leeds will also factor into the story, but actor Jacob Batalon says he's still waiting on the call.

No Way Home’s Unused Aunt May Death Scene Would’ve Been Even Sadder
Image
Aunt May's death in Spider-Man: No Way Home was originally planned to be more drawn out, giving Peter Parker hope that she could survive. Marvel Studios changed the scene to focus on the emotional impact of Aunt May's death and the personal relationship between her and Peter. Rushing Aunt May into an ambulance would have distracted from the significance of the "great power, great responsibility" line, which was given increased attention in the film.

Aunt May's death in Spider-Man: No Way Home was almost very different, with the original plan potentially being an even more emotional story for May and Peter Parker. Marisa Tomei debuted as Aunt May in 2016's Captain America: Civil War and was a key figure in Tom Holland's first trilogy in the MCU as Spider-Man, having become his guardian after his parents became absent prior to his introduction. Aunt May was often Parker's moral compass as Spider-Man,...

Why Iron Man’s First Real MCU Armor Isn’t What You Think
Image
Tony Stark's first Iron Man suit, the Mark I, is a hulking body of armor made from metal scraps that he built to escape a terrorist organization. The Mark III suit, which is the most iconic and familiar design, was actually the first design in the real world, with Mark I and Mark II reverse-engineered to resemble earlier versions of Mark III. The designers wanted Mark III to have a memorable design as it would become the suit audiences associate with Iron Man, and the subsequent suits in the MCU were inspired by its design.

One of the most riveting parts of watching Iron Man's origins in his first movie is seeing how his iconic suit came to be. The sleek red and yellow design he dons in his later MCU appearances is iconic, but that's not where his suits began. Tony's first suit design is a large, hulking...

Black Panther 2 Missed A Perfect Chance To Use A 14-Year-Old Cut Iron Man Suit
Image
Wakanda Forever missed an opportunity to bring back a cut Iron Man suit, but it made sense to establish Ironheart as a hero independent of Iron Man. Riri Williams could become a hero as great as Tony Stark and her unique Ironheart suit allows her to establish her own identity. While the sequel focused on introducing Ironheart as her own character, future MCU movies can still explore the use of old Iron Man suits and set up an exciting future for both Ironheart and the franchise.

Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced audiences to Ironheart and her unique suit, but it had the opportunity to use a 14-year-old MCU suit that was cut from Iron Man. Riri Williams debuted in Wakanda Forever and proved she could create an Iron Man suit similar to the ones used by Tony Stark. Her suit had a unique design and looked similar to how it appeared in the comics.

Spider-Man: No Way Home Nearly Ventured Into Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield's Worlds
Image
Spider-Man: No Way Home begins with Peter Parker seeking a solution to erase his secret identity, leading him to team up with Doctor Strange for a spell, which goes awry and brings supervillains from alternate dimensions into their world. Early concept art reveals that there were plans for Spider-Man and Doctor Strange to battle over the source of the spell through scenes from previous Spider-Man movies, involving the Book of Vishanti. Originally, there were plans for Michael Keaton's Vulture to join forces with Peter Parker to confront Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Electro, but the script evolved to align with the broader MCU plan and overcome challenges like actor availability, ultimately changing the storyline.

Unused Spider-Man: No Way Home Scene Would've Ruined A Scene It Took 9 Years To Make
Image
Concept art reveals that an unused scene in Spider-Man: No Way Home would have had Doctor Strange's Cloak of Levitation save Mj, taking away from Andrew Garfield's redemption moment. The original plan for the final battle would have given Mj a "liberating moment of freedom" as she experienced flying for herself. By allowing Garfield's Spider-Man to save Mj, it pays off the distressing scene from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and gives the character hope for the future.

Concept art reveals one unused scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home that would have ruined one emotional MCU scene that paid off a tragic moment from Sony's The Amazing Spider-Man 2. Spider-Man: No Way Home's Original Plan Fixed A Glaring Sony Plot Hole

Original plans for Spider-Man: No Way Home included a cut scene featuring Michael Keaton's Vulture, providing a solution to a glaring issue in Sony's Spider-Man Universe. Spider-Man: No Way Home’s Cut Green Goblin Fight Would’ve Made Its Ending Even Sadder

Mj originally had a larger role in the final battle of Spider-Man: No Way Home, which would have made the ending even more heartbreaking for her character. Concept art reveals that Mj was seemingly supposed to administer Green Goblin's cure during the battle, showcasing her bravery and willingness to help Peter Parker. Spider-Man: No Way Home Concept Art Reveals Abandoned Vulture Storyline
Image
In an early version of Spider-Man: No Way Home, Peter Parker and Vulture were set to team up to take on the multiverse villains, but the script evolved to align with the broader MCU plan. The Covid-19 pandemic disrupted the release schedule of the Marvel films, causing cameos and crossovers between Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home to be abandoned. America Chavez, a character known for her abilities to traverse the multiverse, was originally planned to have a role in Spider-Man: No Way Home, but her character was saved for a more prominent role in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

In an alternate vision for Spider-Man: No Way Home, Michael Keaton's Vulture was slated to join forces with Peter Parker (Tom Holland) in a bid to confront the menacing Green Goblin, Doc Ock, and Electro, who had entered their world...

First Look at Spider-Man: No Way Home's Scrapped Aunt May Death Scene (Photo)
Willem Dafoe, Alfred Molina, Thomas Haden Church, Jamie Foxx, Rhys Ifans, Benedict Cumberbatch, Zendaya, and Tom Holland in Spider-Man: No Way Home (2021)
Concept artist Phil Saunders took to social media to offer an alternate look at a scene from Spider-Man: No Way Home that was reworked in the finished film.

It’s a moment so critical in the story of Spider-Man that Sony’s Across the Spider-Verse dubbed it a “canon event:” The death of someone close to him. For Tobey Maguire, it was the murder of Uncle Ben. For Andrew Garfield, it was both Ben and Captain Stacy.

And for the MCU’s own Peter Parker, it was the untimely end of his beloved Aunt May, after she was caught in the blast of one of Green Goblin’s pumpkin bombs, as seen in No Way Home. However, due to pandemic-era constraints, the scene in question was not shot as originally planned.

Marvel Studios' One Mandate for Green Goblin in Spider-Man: No Way Home Revealed
Image
Marvel Studio's Head of Visual Development Ryan Meinerding revealed the one mandate surrounding Spider-Man: No Way Home involving the Marvel Cinematic Universe debut of one of the wall-crawler's greatest enemies, The Green Goblin.

In a passage from the Spider-Man: No Way Home-The Art of the Movie artbook, Meinerding recalled that since The Green Goblin is a character who had a "very iconic, heightened look" from 2002's Spider-Man, the movie's production team was "tasked with seeing how much of that [they] could keep while still making it feel like it existed in the Marvel Cinematic Universe." He added, "Since a lot of the MCU is about technology, I think Adi Granov was the first one to try to add the hood. Everybody was doing such gorgeous work–Visual Development Concept Illustrator Phil Saunders did some hugely dynamic, amazing images of the Goblin on the glider about to throw pumpkins–and it...

Spider-Man: No Way Home concept art shows Green Goblin using Iron Man armour
Image
In addition to multiple incarnations of Peter Parker, Spider-Man: No Way Home pulled villains from the last twenty years of Spider-Man movies, including Willem Dafoe’s Green Goblin. While the iconic villain ditched the helmet from the original Sam Raimi movie pretty quickly, he closed the film wearing a tattered purple hoodie over his battle-damaged armour. It was a great look for the crazed villain, but concept art for the Spider-Man sequel shows that Green Goblin could have incorporated Iron Man armour into his costume as well.

Concept art from Spider-Man: No Way Home – The Art of the Movie (via The Direct) includes a few takes with Green Goblin using pieces of Iron Man’s Mark VI armour. Another piece showcases the same armour painted purple, emulating the villain’s classic colour scheme from the comics.

Official new #SpiderManNoWayHome concept art shows Green Goblin wearing pieces of #IronMan's Mark 6 armor!

Marvel Revealed 1 Way To Give Shuri's Black Panther A Big MCU Power Upgrade
Image
Black Panther: Wakanda Forever concept art has revealed that Marvel Studios almost gave Shuri one unique power upgrade in the Phase 4 film. After the tragic 2020 passing of Chadwick Boseman, who portrayed the McU's T'Challa, a.k.a. the Black Panther, since Captain America: Civil War, Letitia Wright stepped up to become the main character in Ryan Coogler's Black Panther sequel. Wakanda Forever saw Wright's Shuri follow in her late brother's footsteps by taking up the mantle of the Black Panther and setting out to protect Wakanda against the forces of MCU newcomer Namor and his underwater army.

While the Black Panther had been a staple of Marvel Comics since his July 1966 debut, Shuri wasn't introduced to the Marvel Universe until 2005's Black Panther Vol. 4 #2, eventually taking up the mantle of the Black Panther in 2009 after T'Challa suffered serious injuries during a battle with Namor. A variation of this...

Black Panther 2’s Cut Riri Fight Had To Be Removed (Even If It Was Great)
Image
An extended battle between Riri Williams and the Talokanil in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, was unfortunately cut, but it makes her story better. Riri’s first appearance has already portrayed her as an impressive teenager, setting her up for the confirmed Disney+ Ironheart show as the MCU’s Tony Stark replacement. While it would’ve made for a great scene to show off more of the Ironheart suit, the cut fight scene was a necessary decision for Riri’s future story arc.

Recently shared keyframes from artist Phil Saunders shows Riri’s actual final Ironheart armor. In the cut Black Panther: Wakanda Forever fight scene, Riri was supposed to go head-to-head with Namora underwater. After Namora disables the suit’s add-ons, Riri ejects them to make a quick getaway, showcasing the base Ironheart suit. Although a cool scene that would have added dimension to the film, cutting the scene will...

Shuri Almost Had Wings In Black Panther: Wakanda Forever
Image
New concept art reveals Shuri almost had wings in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Shuri became the main character of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever following leading man Chadwick Boseman's untimely death prior to the film entering production. Marvel Studios decided not to recast Boseman's T'Challa out of respect for the actor. Shuri actor Letitia Wright stepped up as the new Black Panther, giving fans a powerful performance in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever that was very much influenced by the grief surrounding the movie.

Concept artist Phil Saunders shared a look at Shuri donning wings in an early concept for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. Shuri has worn wings in the comics, with a version of her Black Panther suit even including them. Saunders noted that the piece was made before Boseman's passing, at a time when artists knew very little about Black Panther: Wakanda Forever's original story. Saunders revealed that...

Wakanda Forever Concept Art Reveals Alt Original Final Battle Location
Image
According to a new piece of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever concept art, the location of the movie's final ocean battle scene was originally quite different. After directing the first film in 2018, Ryan Coogler returns to continue the story in the sequel, which was released to positive reviews from audiences and critics last month. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever sees the return of characters like Shuri (Letitia Wright) and Ramonda (Angela Bassett) who, along with the nation of Wakanda, mourn the loss of King T'Challa (Chadwick Boseman). In addition to Namor (Tenoch Huerta), the sequel also introduces Riri Williams (Dominique Thorne), aka Ironheart, who finds herself fighting with Wakanda against Namor's underwater army.

The final fight in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever between Wakanda and the army of Talokan takes place on a large Wakandan water vessel, but a recently-shared piece of concept art from artist Phil Saunders reveals that the location was...

Avengers: Infinity War Almost Made Doctor Strange Iron Man
Image
When it released in 2016, one of the biggest complaints about Doctor Strange was that its hero hewed too close to Iron Man. It followed an arrogant man at the top of his game who suffers a humbling set back and discovers a new identity in the East. Also, facial hair. Surprisingly, bringing the two characters together in Avengers: Infinity War eased the comparison, as initial snark-offs between the duo eventually gave way to revealing their distinctive power sets.

But the movie almost went in the opposite direction, further winking at the interchangability between the two. Early concept art posted to Reddit shows Strange wearing Iron Man’s Mark 50 armor while facing off against Thanos’s minion the Ebony Maw. Created by Phil Saunders, who has worked on several MCU films, the images show Strange deflecting Ebony Maw’s needle attacks while wearing the armor, his Eye of Agamotto glowing in the center.

Ironheart’s Real Armor Revealed In Stunning Black Panther 2 Concept Art
Image
Stunning concept art from Black Panther: Wakanda Forever shows Riri Williams' Ironheart armor in all its glory. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever introduced viewers to Dominique Thorne's Riri Williams, better known to comic book readers as Ironheart. By the end of the film, it was clear that Riri Williams really is the McU's next Iron Man, although she'll have to redesign her armor - the one she wore in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever was boosted by Wakandan technology, and they really couldn't justify sending a teenage girl back to the United States packing that kind of firepower.

Artist Phil Saunders has taken to Facebook to share concept art of Riri's final armor. As he explains, the armor seen in the film itself features various attachments that give it a very different look and color scheme, presumably boosting its offensive functionality for the battle against the Talokanil. According to Saunders, there...

Black Panther 2 Concept Art Reveals Sleeker Design for Ironheart Suit
Image
Comic artist Adi Granov reveals early concept art for Ironheart's suit in Black Panther: Wakanda Forver, showcasing a much sleeker design than the suit in the film. Introduced in Wakanda Forever, Ironheart is the superhero name for Riri Williams, an MIT student responsible for creating a vibranium-detecting machine that kicks off the plot of the film. Riri uses the Ironheart suit to aid Wakandan soldiers in a battle against Namor and his underwater Talokan army, and the red and black armor has a rather bulky design, including large shoulder thrusters on the sides.

However, as revealed by Adi Granov on Instagram, early concept art of Ironheart's Black Panther: Wakanda Forever suit shows off a sleeker rendition than the film's final product. Granov says that this early design for Ironheart's armor was the only take he'd done, but he's still happy with how concept designer Phil Saunders portrayed the suit in the finished movie.

Unseen Iron Man 3 Concept Art Reveals Tony Stark’s Underwater Armor
Iron Man may have already been the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s most popular character long before his solo trilogy came to an end, but the franchise’s post-Avengers bump in commercial success saw Iron Man 3 earn almost as much at the box office as the previous two installments combined.

The movie remains divisive among fans for the controversial Mandarin twist, which has since been retconned thanks to the All Hail the King One-Shot and the upcoming Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings, and isn’t widely regarded as one of the McU’s greatest entries, but it still delivered a solid conclusion to the title character’s journey before Tony Stark became the most high-profile supporting character in all of cinema.

One of the major criticisms about the Iron Man series was that every movie seemed to fall back on Tony having to battle against a...

Doctor Strange was originally going to wear Tony Stark's Iron Man suit in Avengers: Infinity War. The news comes from some recently unveiled concept art from the epic movie. Even two years after the movie hit theaters, we're still learning about what went on behind-the-scenes and what could have been. The Russo Brothers, along with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely tossed around a lot of ideas that never made it past the concept art stage. With that being said, the concept art helps to fill the larger overall story.

The Infinity War concept art comes to us from artist Phil Saunders and it is a must-see for any Marvel Cinematic Universe fans. We see Doctor Stephen Strange wearing Tony Stark's Iron Man suit. Instead of the Arc Reactor, we see the Eye of Agamotto, giving it flair. Additionally, Strange is getting ready to work some magic with his hands in the image.

Avengers: Infinity War Almost Had War Machine Sliced In Half
Marvel just loves beating up War Machine. In the recently released art book, Avengers: Endgame – The Art of the Movie, concept artist Phil Saunders reveals that there were alternate plans for the character in Avengers: Infinity War.

Played by Don Cheadle, James Rhodes was set to appear in the Edinburgh battle. The scene features Scarlet Witch and Vision battling Thanos’ Black Order, before Captain America, Black Widow and Falcon rescue the pair. But another version includes War Machine who while fighting the Black Order, is sliced in half.

The book is filled with artwork not seen in the movies and Saunders spoke about the War Machine scene in Infinity War, explaining it as so:

“He was going to be sliced in half by one of the Black Order, and we were going to be shocked until we cut to the scene where he is remotely piloting it. The idea was...

Avengers: Infinity War Originally Had A Bigger Role Planned For Rhodey
The new Avengers: Infinity War artbook – titled Marvel’s Avengers: Infinity War – The Art of the Movie – offers a lot of intriguing suggestions for how the year’s biggest film could’ve turned out differently, and among these insights is the revelation that James “Rhodey” Rhodes was initially planned to play a bigger part in the Russo Brothers’ latest flick.

Though Don Cheadle’s role was largely relegated to the status of one more soldier in the fight against Thanos, concept illustrator Phil Saunders explains in the recently released book how the character was originally planned to get his own dramatic costume change.

“Originally, Rhodey was going to have two different armors in this movie. And then this ultimately got narrowed down to one armor, so the best elements in both armors were combined into one. We really wanted to give him a much more advanced look than what he...

Check Out Unused 'Hulkbuster' And 'Ultron' Designs From Avengers: Age Of Ultron
Marvel Studios concept artist Phil Saunders has shared some of his alternate designs for both Ultron and the Hulkbuster armour in Avengers: Age of Ultron. As you can see, these are very different to what ended up on the big screen, but it would have been pretty hard to complain too much about any of these ultimately being used in the sequel. The Hulkbuster in particular looks a lot more similar to its comic book counterpart too which would have been cool. What do you think? Better or worse than the final versions? As always, let us know your thoughts in the usual place! Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Chris Evans, Chris Hemsworth, Robert Downey Jr., Mark Ruffalo, Jeremy Renner, Scarlett Johansson, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, Cobie Smulders, Don Cheadle, Paul Bettany, James Spader, and Samuel L. While some fans are getting ready for the release of Marvel's Ant-Man in just a few weeks, others are still checking out Avengers: Age of Ultron in theaters, which has amassed a whopping $1.37 billion at the worldwide box office after two months. Earlier this week, concept artist Andy Park shared some of his early designs for the villainous Ultron on his Facebook page. Here's what he had to say about the artwork.

"Finally getting around to posting some of the Avengers: Age of Ultron concepts I did. These are some initial passes done for the big baddie, Ultron. What a crazy fun project to work on! I don't get to do the more robotic designs that often here given our resident robot experts in Ryan Meinerding, Phil Saunders, along with Josh Nizzi and Josh Herman.
