Ever since his manga debut in 1967, Lupin the 3rd has fought a variety of villainous foes. But one from decades past returns in the franchise's newest film, Takeshi Koike's Lupin the IIIrd the Movie: Fujimi no Ketsuzoku . And fans of the show's classic run will remember this mysterious figure all too well! A new clip released today reveals the return of Mamo, a strange and ancient entity who first crossed paths with the master thief in the 1978 film The Mystery of Mamo (a.k.a. Lupin vs. the Clone ). In addition to appearing in the franchise's first animated feature, Mamo also made an appearance in 2014's Jigen's Gravestone — a brief cameo that possibly hinted at this very more than a decade later. It's the sort of treasure anime's greatest thief himself would target: a pure gold figurine, one of only 100 in the world. But rather than being one of Lupin the Third's conquests, it's been created in honor of his upcoming film. To celebrate Takeshi Koike's Lupin The Iiird The Movie: Fujimi no Ketsuzoku , the Nippon Broadcasting System's online store Radio Living is offering a selection of solid gold collectibles. The star of the collection, a Lupin figure made with nine grams of pure gold, is limited to just 100 units. As the son of two traveling circus performers, Satoru found himself with a whole month of summer vacation in this sleepy seaside village. While his parents and their fellow troupe members busied themselves with preparations for an upcoming show, 10-year-old Satoru had the run of the scenic countryside that surrounded the town.
With forests, mountains, rivers, and a vast ocean shoreline beckoning just outside his door, Satoru’s days would be filled with discovery and adventure. He was free to explore Yomogi Town’s hidden places, meet its colorful characters, and embark on quests both grand and mundane as the spirit moved him. Whether catching elusive new bugs and fish throughout the lush landscapes, joining the neighborhood kids on mysterious investigations, or simply soaking in the simple pleasures of summer’s lazy afternoons, Satoru’s days were his own.

Mangaka Hiroshi Fujimoto (better known by his pseudonym Fujiko F. Fujio) brought many memorable and beloved characters in a post-Osamu Tezuka anime and manga landscape to life. Although Doraemon remains his magnum opus and a global icon in his own right, Fujiko F. Fujio used his vivid imagination to create entire universes that borrowed from his previous works. With T. Netflix took that allure of youth and adventure to forge a space-time-breaking journey through supple animation. Jojo's Bizarre Adventure and Studio Ghibli films have some of the most recognizable art styles in anime. Cyberpunk: Edgerunners makes use of Studio Trigger's brightly colored, intense visuals in its futuristic setting. Unlike other horror stories, Mononoke uses vivid imagery to unsettle its viewers.
An anime's art style is one of the first things to stand out to viewers. Unlike manga, which uses stationary, black-and-white artwork, anime has more freedom in how it uses its visuals to attract an audience. Some anime, like Devilman Crybaby, are appealing for their unique, but not necessarily attractive, art styles. This is different from many of the other series that use colorful visuals to attract attention.
It's important to draw a distinction between art style and animation. Art style refers to how the anime looks in still frames, and includes character and background designs, color palettes, and overall esthetics. Animation, on the other hand,...

With The Boy and the Heron gearing up to be one of Hayao Miyazaki's best movies ever, it makes sense to start looking back on his legendary career. Miyazaki's directorial debut was his first and only movie not to be produced by Studio Ghibli, the second feature film in the Lupin III franchise, The Castle of Cagliostro. The Castle of Cagliostro premiered in 1979. Ghibli was founded in 1985. The Castle of Cagliostro may not be a Ghibli movie, but it has many of the hallmarks of Miyazaki's style and although it was not initially popular, it has gone down as a masterpiece and helped to establish Miyazaki as an icon of anime.

Prequels are a way to satisfy the audience's curiosity about the history and origins of a specific phenomenon or character in an anime series. However, prequels adhere to a hit-or-miss scenario, especially if they're about a hit franchise.
If the story is not up to par, it can completely ruin the viewers' experience. Fortunately, several popular anime series have taken the risk of releasing prequels and have been successful in immersing the audience deeper into their plots and themes.

The new Mission: Impossible movie, Dead Reckoning Part One, has recently been released to a worldwide audience. It's like any other installment in the film series in all the right ways. It has intense action, thrilling drama, an intricate plot, and amazing stunts. The movie also features a great car chase, as is tradition with spy films. One might think Ethan Hunt would be driving in something snazzy, especially since the scene is set in Italy. The movie tricked audiences into thinking he'd get into a gray Ferrari F12 TdF as a Mif getaway car, but he wound up in a yellow Fiat 500 parked behind it. Most moviegoers were moderately amused by this ridiculous choice of car. Anime fans, however, were beaming at this scene.

When people think of traitors in anime, they often think of antagonists. Characters who pretend to be friends with people for the sake of betraying them once they've gotten what they wanted lines up with villain behavior, after all. However, even heroes can occasionally betray other people.
Sometimes it's a villain who sees the protagonist's point and changes sides. Other times a hero has gone undercover with the villains to gain information. Some characters regret betraying those they care about, while others couldn't care less. Regardless of the reason or how they feel about it though, heroes from Dragon Ball Z, Bleach and more still turned their back on people who trusted them.
