A Machu Picchu Proposal Review: A Trip Worth Taking
Image
Some stories begin not with a bang, but with a spreadsheet. In A Machu Picchu Proposal, we are introduced to our protagonist, Katie (Rhiannon Fish), a cooking instructor whose life is as meticulously organized as her pantry. Her core mechanic, so to speak, is planning.

The film’s main quest is handed to her by her twin brother, Dan (Christopher Vieira), a fellow devotee of order and schedules. He has summoned her to Peru for a critical mission: to help him stage a flawless marriage proposal for his girlfriend, Luciana (Michelle Rosselló).

The initial objective seems clear. But like any good narrative, an unexpected variable is introduced. That variable is Carlos (Alec Santos), a charismatic chef and friend of Luciana’s, whose spontaneous nature acts as a direct counter to the twins’ carefully laid plans. His arrival immediately sends their itinerary into a tailspin, setting the stage for a delightful...

What better place for this moment than this iconic Peruvian site; but first, Dan needs to ask Luciana’s father for permission to marry her-that’s where Katie steps in.

Dan doesn’t speak Spanish, but Katie does-everything seems very romantic until Luciana’s friend Chef Carlos arrives, he is quite unpredictable and disrupts Dan’s proposal plans.

Image
Ben Affleck may call Matt Damon his best friend, but he admits he would not recommend living with him.

During an appearance on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Thursday, Affleck reflected on what it was like in the early days of living with Damon and his brother Casey Affleck.

“Matt’s never paid a bill to this day, that I know of,” Affleck joked. “We’re like, ‘Why are the lights not working?’, and that’s because the utility company needs money to continue to fund our electricity.”

When Corden asked whether Damon was a good roommate, Affleck didn’t shy from explaining why he wasn’t.

“Matt’s a beautiful guy. I love him. He’s my best friend. He’s been great to me my whole life. He’s a brilliant guy. I would not suggest living with him,” Affleck said. He explained that it...
