We are now in August, which means we are drawing ever closer to the return of Saitama in the third season of One-Punch Man, which arrives in October. Saitama, the titular One Punch Man who only needs to land a single blow to fell any enemy, has been off-screen for five years. Season 2 of One-Punch Man aired in July 2019 and there hasn't been anything since, until now at least. Production on Season 3 has been ongoing for some time now as the show prepares for its return in the fall. Saitama is voiced by Makoto Furukawa and, according to an update shared on social media by official sources, Furukawa will be on double hero duty in Season 3. Besides voicing our titular hero, Furukawa will also serve as the new series' ending song artist. However, the update did not confirm a song title.

In an exclusive interview at San Diego Comic-Con, Cbr spoke with legendary voice actor Stephanie Nadolny, known for her roles as Kid Goku in Og Dragon Ball and Gohan in Dbz. Nadolny has a particularly close relationship to both Goku and his firstborn son, given that she walked in their shoes for much of their early lives.
Nadolny initially got her start with Dragon Ball as the voice of Gohan in Funimation's Dbz English dub, before taking over as Kid Goku in Dragon Ball and later Dragon Ball Gt. At Sdcc, Nadolny spoke to Cbr about finally reprising her role as Goku in Dragon Ball Daima after over 10 years, as well as how she got into the role to begin with. Playing Gohan, let alone Goku, was never really part of the plan, but they’re so closely interconnected that it makes perfect sense in hindsight.

One-Punch Man season 3 has been a point of contention for fans of the series for some time now, due to a variety of factors that all add up to being bad news. That stack of reasons for concern has just grown larger, however, with one fan's contact with voice actor Kyle Hebert, who voices Atomic Samurai in the dub.
Fans have had concerns about One-Punch Man season 3 almost since it was announced. It wasn't long after the announcement that the studio for season 3, J.C. Staff, was confirmed. J.C. Staff handled One-Punch Man season 2, which left many fans displeased with the quality of the animation compared to the first season.
The one trailer that has been seen so far has done little to quell fan fears about season 3's animation, and despite reassurances from the studio, it looks like the anime is suffering a number of production issues.

Viz Media has officially acquired One Punch Man, as Season 3 is just a few months away at this point. It's been some time since we last laid eyes on Saitama, with the second season premiering way back in 2019. While the return was not certain previously, it's set in stone now with Season 3 of One Punch Man arriving later this year. Ahead of Anime Expo this week, Viz Media offered an exciting update for the coming season as the English dub voice cast for the upcoming third season was revealed. The negativity with which the second season was greeted means that Season 3 has triggered both fears and hype in equal measure.
Much of the team that voiced the characters in Season 2 are set to reprise their roles, but a voice actor who has been in the news quite a bit recently because of some controversy is joining the team. Taking to their official X account,...

One of the Dragon Ball franchise's most prolific English-language voice actors has been playing his role for over 20 years. Kyle Hebert, the official voice of Gohan (Older) and Future Gohan in Dragon Ball Z, Dbz Kai and Dragon Ball Super, recently revealed his favorite version of the character to perform, giving an answer that may surprise many longtime anime fans.
"My [favorite] version to play is Saiyaman," Hebert said in an X (formerly Twitter) post that's racked up over 200K views as of writing. While surprising at first, Hebert's Saiyaman preference may also make perfect sense to others, despite the character's divisive reception. While Gohan undergoes plenty of trials and tribulations in the series, Dbz's "Great Saiyaman" arc gave teenage Gohan room to show off some personality beyond his martial arts prowess and numerous power-ups. Anime fans might rank their top Gohan iterations differently, but Hebert picked the version that perhaps...

Hey, do you recall when being a geek was like having a secret identity, but without all the superhero coolness? Man, those were awful times. If you even mentioned that you liked anime, comic books, or anything kinda nerdy, it was like having a big ‘Bully Me’ sign on your forehead. However, Aizen’s voice actor from Bleach, Kyle Hebert, feels things have changed a little lately.
Fast forward to today, and guess what? That same guy who was getting thrown into lockers for being Dragon Ball Z-crazy is flexing his Naruto tattoo on social media, and raking in followers. Somewhere along the line, being a geek went from a shameful secret to an absolute superpower. And honestly? It’s about time.
Marvel, DC, and Anime: The cross-pollination of modern geek culture

The captains and lieutenants are an iconic part of Bleach. They're striking pairs and an essential part of what makes the Soul Society arc so compelling. The way each of these pairs interact with each other shows off both the wide variety of personalities that fit into this anime and hints at how the different Court Guard Squads function. All of them serve different functions for Soul Society, and they're all at varying levels of strength. These characters and their relationships are given due consideration to make them dynamic and interesting.
Just because one captain and lieutenant duo may be the strongest or get along the best doesn't mean they work together the best. In matters of teamwork, each of these pairs prioritize different things. Plus, some of them just aren't very good at it. The individual value of characters also only makes them so impactful. The hit animanga franchise One Piece boasts a truly vast cast of characters, who come in all shapes and sizes. Protagonist Monkey D. Luffy meets an incredible variety of people during his adventures on the high seas, from lovable rogues and ruffians to downright despicable criminals and bullies. Some villains redeemed themselves, such as Mr. 2 Bon Clay, and some are liked despite their villainy because they're cool, such as Crocodile and Kaido.
However, there are still plenty of One Piece characters who fans intensely dislike, and it's clear that author Eiichiro Oda never meant for those characters to be sympathetic or likable to begin with. The most disliked One Piece characters are often obnoxious villains or bullies who commit outrageous atrocities and have horrible personalities, or both.

This article includes spoilers for the Bleach manga.
If there's one character who single-handedly kept Bleach's reputation afloat, it's Sosuke Aizen. Even after Tite Kubo's most famous work fell from grace following a flawed and polarizing final arc, Aizen being the story's true villain and one of the greatest anime/manga antagonists of the 2000s ensured Bleach's legacy. To this day, Bleach's later villains and those in other Shonen stories are measured up against the deceitful ex-captain of the Fifth Division. Aizen is still so revered that he overshadowed Emperor Yhwach and his loyal Sternritters in Bleach: Thousand-Year Blood War. This is even though he only had a single cameo until Cour 3.
As far as some fans are concerned, Aizen's mere existence redeemed Bleach of its worst shortcomings. Not only was Aizen a great plot twist and villain, but he was integral to Bleach as well. Without Aizen, the...

Most Shonen protagonists define themselves not just by their combat power, but by their circle of friends and allies. Heroes like Naruto, Luffy, Deku, and Asta would have accomplished nothing had it not been for their closest pals. Bleach's star Ichigo Kurosaki is just like that, even if he's more of a moody anti-hero than his Shonen peers. As a classic anime protagonist, Ichigo views himself as his friends' ultimate defender.
There are quite a few people in Ichigo's circle, many of whom eventually go on to become lifelong friends. He has a few friends at high school in Bleach's first season, and he soon forms a few more vital friendships during the Soul Society arc and all the other arcs after that. These people are all precious to Ichigo he will take on any foe to protect them, even if it means endangering himself in the process.

Throughout the Naruto series, shinobi have been divided into a unit of three people, with a Jonin leader at the top, commanding them. Distributed on the basis of their skills and to maintain balance throughout the unit, the teams are often sent on various missions, the difficulty of which usually depends on their skill and ninja rank.
This ninja system, while more prominent in Konoha, has also been adopted throughout the five nations. Each generation of shinobi has produced some great teams which have left their mark on history. Some of them have done so through their deeds in battle, while others have gone on to inherit powerful positions in their village.

Bleach is a supernatural action series with a stunning variety of character designs from start to finish. Overall, Bleach is not a horror anime like its spiritual successor Jujutsu Kaisen, with Bleach focusing on more conventional fantasy elements like magic attacks, transforming swords, and even partial isekai elements. That said, Bleach doesn't hesitate to dabble in horror if certain character designs or scenes call for it.
Certain characters in Bleach are downright terrifying when they are fighting or trying to intimidate someone, and some of them have actually weaponized that fact. A few of the scariest Bleach characters are just being themselves, but others know they're horrifying, and use that fact as a psychological weapon. Those scary characters might use body horror, deathly imagery, or coldly murderous personalities to chill their enemies to the bone.

English dub actors often don’t get the credit they deserve among anime fans, even the ones with the most roles in the business. It isn’t an easy task to not only take on a character whose original voice is beloved by fans, but give a unique performance that makes that character your own. However, many of the best actors in the business have hundreds of roles in their experience.
These are the actors who have been voicing anime characters for decades, witnessing and often shaping a changing industry. Many also take part in script writing, Adr directing, and several other aspects of production. Whether they are famous for a specific, unforgettable type of voice or for their incredible range, there are some good reasons why they have racked up so very many credits on Behind the Voice Actors, a site dedicated to logging every voice role an actor has played in television,...

Two wide studio releases will hopefully prevent this summer from reaching another low at the box office after last weekend’s 67.3M. If there’s one movie that’s going to pull ahead, sources are betting on Crunchyroll’s Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero. That distributor has proven in a short amount of time that they can draw a great deal of anime fans in a Friday through Sunday span. The Tetsuro Kodama directed animation movie is looking at anywhere from 12M-15M, ahead of Universal’s genre lion-stalking film, Beast, starring Idris Elba; that pic hoping for at least double digits.
Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, booked in around 3,940 theaters, will be armed with all premium ticket formats, i.e. 4Dx, Imax, Dolby and D-box, and will kick off showtimes at 5Pm on Thursday. The previous movie, Dragon Ball Super: Broly, over a 6-day MLK holiday stretch in 2019 debuted to 22.3M.

“Do all of you remember the name Red Ribbon Army?” That’s the first of many lines of expository dialogue in “Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero,” the latest animated action-fantasy adaptation-extension of the mega-popular “Dragon Ball” manga comics.
That opening line of voiceover narration also inadvertently prepares viewers for how convoluted the movie soon becomes.
Some tablesetting dialogue explains who the Red Ribbon Army are (bad guys) and why they’re back. The son of the Red Pharmaceutical Company’s founder, Magenta (voiced by Volcano Ota in the Japanese-language version and Charles Martinet in the English dub), wants to take over the world. But soon enough, this fairly straightforward beat-em-up spectacular, which pits heroic aliens against villainous robots, becomes a celebration of “Dragon Ball,” a decades-old anime institution.

More riches are coming exhibitors’ way, particularly during the late summer dry period, as Crunchyroll and Toei Animation are releasing the next Dragon Ball movie, Dragon Ball Super: Super Hero, on Aug. 19 in the U.S. and Canada at 2,300 theaters and select Imax venues.
The only other new wide release in theaters at that time is Universal’s Idris Elba movie, Beast. Super Hero is getting a further global blast around the world at the same time.
These Crunchyroll movies are big one weekend cash cows, whereby all the fans come out in one swoop. Rival studios marvel at how Crunchyroll pulls this off, largely without a national TV campaign; dialing into and engaging their fanbase to leave the house. The last Dragon Ball Super: Broly posted a 6-day MLK opening of 22.3M, yet finaled at 30.7M. Worldwide, the pic did 115.7M.

From Production Ig (Psycho Pass, Blood The Last Vampire, Ghost in the Shell) and the creator of Madoka Magica and Fate/Zero comes an action-packed sci-fi adventure like you’ve never seen before. While fighting an intense inter-galactic war, a mecha pilot was accidentally warped into a space-time neither he nor the computer of his mecha could recognize. After waking up from a long-time hibernation, he found himself trapped on a planet, with human residents talking in an unknown form of language, using inferior technologies, and – most shocking to him – naturally breathable air..

The warped geniuses at Astron-6, the collective responsible for the irresponsible beauty that was Father’s Day, have unleashed yet another jolt of cinematic insanity. Manborg is a goofy/smart satire of bargain basement sci-fi spectacles, CD-rom games and any number of junky toy-based Saturday morning cartoons. A direct descendent of Charles Band '80s-era exploitation fare such as Metalstorm: the Destruction of Jared Syn and Eliminators, it’s an unabashed love letter to kid-friendly "exploi-tainment."
Manborg begins, as most of these spectacles must, with a post-apocalyptic Earth. Hell has literally taken over the planet with armies of ferocious Nazi demons bent on destroying mankind. Dark Sky Films has taken the rights to Manborg and will release this nod to '80s sci-fi/fantasy in theaters and on DVD April 30th.

Check out this newest posters for the upcoming animated feature Wreck-It Ralph which have been released online.
The film finds the title character (voiced by John C. Reilly) sick and tired of his repetitive, unrewarding gig as the villain of 8-bit arcade platform game Fix It Felix Jr. Day after day for years, he’s been destroying buildings, much to the disgust of the tenants, and has been rejected by all in favour of the hero, Felix (Jack McBrayer).
So Ralph decides to jump from his game to others, including first-person shooter Hero’s Duty and racing game Sugar Rush, to see if he can finally become the champion he thinks he could be. Along the way, he finds a possible new friend in fellow outcast Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) and learns there are worse things lurking in the arcade than low self-esteem.

The new spot fits right in with the other fake ads that have been released including 1982's Fix-It Felix Jr. and 1997's Sugar Rush Speedway, and another one for Hero's Duty. This was such a great movie, and I'm excited for you to see it. It's one of the best animated movies that Disney has made in a long time.

Disney has released an adorable new clip from Wreck-It Ralph featuring Vanellope von Schweetz (Sarah Silverman) trying to talk Ralph (John C. Reilly) into helping her break into something. Basically if he helps her get what she wants, she will help him.
I've seen the movie already, and I absolutely loved it, and I'm pretty confident that you will too. Stay tuned for my review because it's coming soon. I will say that Vanellope von Schweetz was my favorite character.

Wreck-It Ralph (voice of Reilly) longs to be as beloved as his game’s perfect Good Guy, Fix-It Felix (voice of McBrayer). Problem is, nobody loves a Bad Guy. But they do love heroes… so when a modern, first-person shooter game arrives featuring tough-as-nails Sergeant Calhoun (voice of Lynch), Ralph sees it as his ticket to heroism and happiness. He sneaks into the game with a simple plan – win a medal – but soon wrecks everything, and accidently unleashes a deadly enemy that threatens every game in the arcade. Ralph’s only hope? Vanellope von Schweetz (voice of Silverman), a young troublemaking “glitch” from a candy-coated cart racing game who might just be the one to teach Ralph what it means to be a Good Guy. But will he realize he is good enough to become a hero before it’s “Game Over” for the entire arcade?...

Disney has released another great retro style trailer for Wreck-It Ralph. This time they made a fake commerical for the non-existent 1997 arcade game Sugar Rush Speedway which looks inspired by Nintendo's Mario Kart 64. To watch the previously released 1982 Fix-It Felix commercial click here.
