FBI recap: Oa and Jubal are in some tight spots in the Season 5 premiere
Image

Being a hero doesn’t always mean putting your life on the line.

In the Season 5 premiere of FBI, the team had to track a deadly figure threatening a major attack in New York City.

It put the team in a difficult position of saving a group of people involved in some dangerous politics.

That involved Oa going undercover and later taking a considerable risk to save lives.

Meanwhile, Jubal found himself caught between his duty and his son’s happiness, making a tough choice.

It all led to an explosive climax, and a sadder finale as Hero’s Journey put FBI Season 5 on a bold start.

A deadly sting leads to a dark discovery

In an office, a glasses-wearing Oa was talking to Curt Mallory (Alex Mickiewicz), who claimed supply chain issues were upping the price of his merchandise.

Aston Villa Transfer News: Ryan Bertrand Joins On Loan From Chelsea
John Walton/Empics Sport

Aston Villa have signed Chelsea left back Ryan Bertrand on loan until the end of the season.

Capped twice by England, 24-year-old Bertrand has been out of favour under Jose Mourinho at Stamford Bridge this season. He is behind Cesar Azpilicueta and Ashley Cole in the Blues pecking order.

Bertrand embarks upon his sixth different loan spell from Chelsea following temporary stints at Bournemouth, Oldham, Norwich, Reading and Nottingham Forest. He was a regular last term under Roberto Di Matteo and Rafa Benitez, making 38 Blues appearances in all competitions, but since Mourinho returned he has played just three games.

Villa boss Paul Lambert told the club’s official website:

“Ryan brings a lot of big-game experience, not only in the Barclays Premier League but even a Champions League final which Chelsea won, so he’ll be really good for us.“

Bertrand added:

“I’ve had to...

Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal: Premier League Player Ratings
Nick Potts/Pa Wire/Press Association Images

Arsenal avenged their opening day defeat and kept themselves top of the Premier League by winning at Aston Villa. Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud scored within a minute of one another, but the hosts fought back in the second half and pulled one back through Christian Benteke.

Paul Lambert can take solace from that improvement after the break, but several tactical changes – one enforced when defender Nathan Baker sustained a concussion – failed to bring about a favourable result.

Benteke’s goal drought ended, however, and that is another positive for the Villa Park faithful to take in the face of defeat. The Gunners meanwhile took to the field for the first time since losing Theo Walcott to a cruciate knee ligament injury.

Arsene Wenger was also without Mikel Arteta because of a calf strain, so he made three changes from their last Premier League outing.

Aston Villa 1-2 Arsenal: Gunners Survive Late Scare To Stay Top
AP Photo/Kirsty Wigglesworth

Quick fire goals from Jack Wilshere and Olivier Giroud took Arsenal past Aston Villa despite a second half comeback led by Christian Benteke. Arsene Wenger’s Gunners returned to the top of the Premier League and avenged their opening day defeat with victory here.

Giroud nodded wide from Bacary Sagna’s cross for Arsenal inside five minutes. Fabian Delph then scuffed his shot at the other end when Benteke nicked the ball off Wilshere.

A long stoppage followed when Villa defender Nathan Baker took Serge Gnabry’s shot full in the face, was knocked unconscious and required treatment before being stretchered off. Leandro Bacuna replaced him as the hosts changed to 4-4-2.

This stop-start opening quarter drew to a close with Karim El Ahmadi screwing an improvised finish wide. Delph fed this midfielder runner after good work from home side front two Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor.

Aston Villa vs Arsenal – Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups

Date: Monday, January 13 Venue: Villa Park Kick-Off: 20:00

Can Arsenal re-take top spot in the Barclay’s Premier League and avenge their 3-1 defeat earlier this season when they travel to Aston Villa on Monday?

Team News

Aston Villa manager Paul Lambert has injury concerns over Ron Vlaar and Nathan Baker ahead of the visit of Arsenal in the Premier League.

The duo are doubtful with calf and hamstring problems, respectively, but Brad Guzan and Gabriel Agbonlahor are back in contention following injury and Ciaran Clark is back from suspension.

Arsenal could welcome Oliver Giroud back in the side following the striker’s recovery from illness and injury while Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is fit again following a long-term lay-off.

Thomas Vermaelen (knee) is a doubt and Theo Walcott will sit out the rest of the season.

Aston Villa 0-3 Man Utd: Welbeck Brace Brings About Red Devils Revival
Media Image Ltd

Manchester United’s excellent record away to Aston Villa continued as a first half Danny Welbeck double set the Premier League champions on their way to victory. Tom Cleverley was also on target after the break as David Moyes won his first league game in over a month.

Villa flew out of the traps with winger Marc Albrighton twice testing Red Devils number one David De Gea in the opening ten minutes. Christian Benteke’s touch then let him down when his teammate played him in.

Weathering this early flurry, United went ahead on the quarter hour when Rafael crossed from the right and Adnan Januzaj saw a free header come back off the post. Welbeck tapped in the rebound.

Less than two minutes later the Red Devils doubled their lead through the same player. Nathan Baker played Villa into trouble, Cleverley combined with Welbeck to find...

Aston Villa vs Man Utd: Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Media Image Ltd

Aston Villa host Premier League champions Manchester United on Sunday knowing their opponents have won on their last two visits to the West Midlands.

David Moyes’s men are 13 points off the pace in the title race this term going into the weekend fixtures. The Red Devils also have a mounting injury crisis which keeps key names from the spine of their side out.

Paul Lambert prepares for the champions knowing his charges have been better on the road than at Villa Park this season. Eleventh place in the table might look comfortable, but Villa are only six points above the relegation zone after 15 matches.

Team News

Lambert will definitely be missing midfield Fabian Delph as he serves a ban after picking up his fifth booking in the away defeat at Fulham. Villa captain Ron Vlaar is likely to remain sidelined with a calf problem. Czech striker...

Aston Villa vs Cardiff – Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Venue: Villa Park Referee: Martin Atkinson Date: 9th of November

Aston Villa’s poor run has stemmed from the dip in form of their front trio Gabriel Agbonlahor, Andreas Weimann, and Christian Benteke. They will be without Agbonlahor and Weimann for the Cardiff clash, which means a new look attacking pairing again for Lambert’s men. Left-back continues to be a problem area for the Midlands side, with Antonion Luna and Joe Bennett both ruled out with injury – leaving Lambert to stick with a makeshift left-side with Leandro Bacuna set to deputise.

Cardiff City are playing with confidence, but have had unwanted distractions from the club’s owner Vincent Tan. Nevertheless, they will still be on cloud nine following the Swansea victory and will regard this weekend’s match as winnable considering Aston Villa poor home form – with just one win at Villa Park this season.

West Ham vs Aston Villa – Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Media Image Ltd

Venue: Upton Park Referee: Howard Webb Date: Saturday 2nd of November

Team News;

For West Ham United; Matt Taylor, Alou Diarra, James Collins, Andy Carroll, Ricardo Vaz Te and Stephen Henderson are all confirmed absentees. Mladen Petric and James Tomkins are doubtful for the clash, so manager Sam Allardyce is hardly spoilt for choice with his squad.

The Villans are short of options at left-back, with Antonio Luna and Joe Bennett both ruled out of action, meaning centre-back Nathan Baker could deputise in their absence. Forward Gabriel Agbonlahor is also doubtful, meaning Lambert will most likely give the out-of-form Andi Weimann a start.

The home side find themselves in poor form of late, with just one win in their last eight games. The Hammers are in 15th place with 9 points from 9 games and are likely to once again be without a recognised striker. West Ham’s home...

Aston Villa vs Newcastle: Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Media Image Ltd

This weekend sees a hotly anticipated return to Premier League action after the imposed hiatus of the international break. Fans and players alike will be looking forward to getting back to club football. I will be looking at Aston Villa v Newcastle a game in which both teams will be looking to accentuate their respective abilities.

Aston Villa

After a strong finish to the season under Paul Lambert last term, Aston Villa were handed a bleak set of starting fixtures for the 13-14 campaign. After making some really good acquisitions in the summer transfer window and moving on some of the ‘dead wood’ many were unsure what to expect from Villa this term. An opening day 3-1 away demolition of a slow starting Arsenal was thoroughly deserved and perhaps illustrated the capabilities of this young Villa squad. Two successive competitively battled defeats against title challengers Chelsea (2-...

Aston Villa vs Liverpool – Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Venue: Villa Park Date: Sunday, 31st March K/o: 13:30 GMT Team News

Aston Villa welcome back Darren Bent, Nathan Baker and Karim El Ahmadi following injury lay-offs, while Fabian Delph returns from suspension.

Ciaran Clark and Brett Holman are doubts however having suffered shoulder injuries on international duty and will have their fitness assessed ahead of kick off.

Liverpool goalkeeper Pepe Reina and defender Jamie Carragher are pushing for recalls, but Joe Allen, Fabio Borini and Martin Kelly will miss the rest of the season.

Match Preview

Back to back league wins for Aston Villa have quietened the doom mongers – at least for a little while.

Once considered sure-fire relegation fodder, there are now quiet whispers of survival at Villa Park, and if Paul Lambert’s beleaguered side can replicate that famous 3-1 win at Anfield in December, they will be in with a real chance of dodging the relegation trap door.

Aston Villa vs Newcastle – Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Venue: Villa Park Date: Tuesday, 29th January K/o: 19:45 Team News

Aston Villa are set to welcome back Christian Benteke and Gabriel Agbonlahor after the duo were rested for Friday’s Fa Cup defeat by Millwall.

Fabian Delph is missing with an ankle injury, however, but Richard Dunne and Nathan Baker are back in contention.

Newcastle could hand debuts to the French contingent of Moussa Sissoko, Mapou Yanga-Mbiwa, Yoan Gouffran and Massadio Haidara, and have no fresh injury concerns.

Steven Taylor could feature after overcoming a hamstring injury he suffered back in November.

Match Preview

Aston Villa will have to dust themselves down following two successive domestic cup eliminations – they were dumped out of the League and Fa Cup by Bradford and Millwall respectively in the space of just three days last week.

Newcastle also go into this vital relegation scrap on the back of a shock defeat of...

Millwall vs Aston Villa – Team News, Match Preview & Likely Line-Ups
Venue: The Den Date: Friday, 25th January K/o: 19:45 Team News

Millwall are light of attacking options for this Fa Cup fourth round tie. Loanee Nathan Tyson is injured while Darius Henderson joined Nottingham Forest on yesterday.

Martyn Woolford is cup-tied, Shane Lowry is banned and Scott Malone is still nursing a back injury. Liam Feeney is however fit to play.

Ashley Westwood and Jordan Bowery are back in contention for Aston Villa, but defender Nathan Baker is out, while Richard Dunn is still recovering from a groin injury.

Match Preview

Two cup games in three days for Aston Villa, the very definition of a hectic schedule if ever there was one.

And if any of Paul Lambert’s men were hoping of a rest tonight, they will have another thing coming.

“The lads will need to go again and again for me, and that’s a big thing,...

Aston Villa vs Bradford – Match Preview, Team News & Likely Line-Ups
Venue: Villa Park Date: Tuesday, 22nd January K/o: 19:45 Team News

Aston Villa will welcome back forward Andreas Weimann from a lay-off with illness for tonight’s Capital One Cup semi-final second-leg with Bradford.

Defender Nathan Baker (hamstring) and midfielder Ashley Westwood (cup-tied) are out, whilst goalkeeper Shay Given and midfielder Fabian Delph will be handed late fitness tests – the duo are suffering from hamstring and ankle complaints, respectively.

Centre-back Michael Nelson could make his debut for League Two outfit Bradford tonight after signing from Kilmarnock.

Striker James Hanson could return from a two-game absence after breaking his toe.

Match Preview

60 places beneath Premier League side Aston Villa, Bradford sprung the most unlikely of cup upsets on Paul Lambert’s men at Valley Parade on January 8th to win the first-leg 3-1.

This tie might even have been over as a contest by now had Andreas Weimann not got...

Aston Villa 1-0 Reading – Match Report
This fixture was last played four years ago in the Premier League. Villa won 3-1 thanks to a John Carew brace. And what we wouldn’t have given for more than one goal as both teams played very poor football in what was a boring match. Neither Reading nor Aston Villa would look out of place in the championship as both squads have little quality and are built on defensive stability. One of the best players on the park, however, was Villa frontman Christian Benteke. His 80th minute header was the difference between the two sides and he showed that he is a class above the majority of players on the park.

Aston Villa made two changes to the team that drew 0-0 with Arsenal. Karim El-Ahmadi and Ron Vlaar were replaced by youngsters Ashley Westwood and Nathan Baker. Villa played a 4-2-3-1 formation.

Brad Guzan (Gk) – 9 Made...
