- Malachy Browne is a founding member of the Visual Investigations team at The New York Times specializing in journalism that combines traditional approaches with the forensic analysis of visual and open-source evidence. He co-directed the Critics Choice-nominated documentary "Day of Rage," a definitive account of the attack on the U.S. Capitol.
He has produced investigations into the killing of Breonna Taylor by police, Russian airstrikes on hospitals in Syria, the Las Vegas mass shooting, Syrian chemical weapons attacks, Jamal Khashoggi's murder and the killing of Rouzan al-Najjar, a medic in Gaza. This work has triggered government inquiries and police reforms, and has been cited in murder trials, congressional hearings, and UN Security Council meetings.
Mr. Browne is a Pulitzer Prize winner (2020) and finalist (2017), has received four News Emmys (2018, 2019 & 2021), a George Polk Award, three Overseas Press Club of America awards, the Scripps Howard Impact Award, and an Investigative Editors and Reporters Award, among others.
