‘Family Guy’ Boss Says ‘Top Gun’ Episode Kicks Off New Wave of Hollywood Spoofs in Season 23
Image
Note: This story contains spoilers from “Family Guy” Season 23, Episode 1.

The Season 23 premiere of “Family Guy” saw Peter, Lois and the rest of the Griffin family head to flight school in a parody of the Tom Cruise-led film franchise “Top Gun.” The episode marks a new wave of Hollywood spoofs ahead for the beloved Fox animated comedy.

Sunday’s episode, aptly named “Fat Gun,” chronicled Maverick’s (Peter) relationship with Charlie (Lois) as he copes with the death of Goose (Joe) and a new relationship with his son Rooster (Chris). It also featured a cameo appearance from tiny Tom Cruise, a miniature version of the actor who’s appeared in previous seasons voiced by Sean Kenin.

“We did an episode a couple of seasons ago where Stewie is shopping in the little kids section for all these reasons, and he pulls an article of clothing and you see another...

Ice Age 6 Is Happening, Star John Leguizamo Reveals

Actor and stand-up comedian, John Leguizamo, has revealed that Ice Age 6 is now in development during a recent interview with NPRs quiz show Wait, Wait...Dont Tell Me. The original Ice Age film premiered more than 20 years ago in 2002. Leguizamo lent his voice to Sid, the dim-witted, but good-natured sloth. The character grew to be a fan favorite, and Leguizamo has now teased (in his characters voice) that a new Ice Age movie is in the works.

Ice Age 6 Is Already Undoing The Massive Franchise Mistake Disney Made 2 Years Ago
Image
Another Ice Age movie has been confirmed by actor John Leguizamo, and the upcoming sequel is already undoing a massive franchise mistake Disney made two years ago. While speaking with NPR on their September 7 episode of the Wait Wait...Don't Tell Me! podcast, the Sid voice actor confirmed another movie in the franchise is in the works. The film would technically be Ice Age 7, due to a spinoff, The Ice Age Adventure of Buck Wild, made for Disney+ in 2022. Even so, a future addition to the Ice Age movies is a major update for the franchise.

The last mainline film, Ice Age: Collision Course, was animated by Blue Sky Studios in 2016. However, the animation studio was closed in April 2021, with the Buck Wild spinoff later produced by 20th Century Animation and Bardel Entertainment. This means Ice Age 6 will be the first direct sequel in the series not to be animated by its original studio.

Ice Age 6 Seemingly Confirmed By Original Star
Image
Ice Age star John Leguizamo has seemingly confirmed that Ice Age 6 is in development, the project getting a brief mention from the Sid actor in a recent interview. The Ice Age movies began in 2002 with the original film, its success spawning a franchise consisting of five main entries and a Disney+ spinoff movie, The Ice Age Adventure of Buck Wild. Since the 2022 streaming movie's release, however, there has been no concrete news on whether another movie is going to be made.

Speaking with NPR on their podcast Wait, Wait...Don't Tell Me!, Leguizamo briefly confirmed that "They are about to do Ice Age 6," revealing the franchise is set to continue. While the Sid actor didn't mention his involvement in the movie, nor what its story could be, his statement aligns with a Buck Wild Disney+ production document confirming another entry was in development. With the actor speaking about the movie,...

The 10 Most Ridiculous Cpac Events
Image
The Conservative Political Action Conference is taking place this week at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center in National Harbor, Maryland. Cpac is the year’s most biggest gathering of conservative thought leaders, serving as a kind of Coachella for misinformation, bigotry, religious zealotry, and veneration of a twice-impeached president who lost the 2020 election. The 2023 edition will feature speeches from likes of Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, former Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro, Donald Trump, and others, although big names like Ron DeSantis, Mike Pence, and House Speaker Kevin McCarthy are skipping the conference,...
