Biography

    • Libby Dietrix, born Elizabeth Diedre Groll, is an American artist, composer, writer, singer, actor, producer, and dancer.

Dietrix was born on July 18, 1996 in Royal Oak, Michigan to Lorie Elizabeth (Nowak), engineering professor and business executive, and Jeremy Michael Groll, reproductive endocrinologist. During her father's time serving in the United States Air Force her family lived in Michigan, Texas, North Carolina, and Ohio. When she was in the fourth grade Dietrix was cast as the Young Sour Kangaroo in Oakwood High School's production of Seussical the Musical. Later that same year she choreographed and produced a musical to Sandra Boynton's book "Philadelphia Chickens" so that all of the kids in her class would have the opportunity to be in one. Dietrix attended Van Buren Middle School, during which time she was a competitive cheerleader and track athlete.

She attended Kettering Fairmont High School from 2011-2015, where she was a member of the award-winning a Capella group Eleventh Hour, as well as Symphonic Chorale, Student Government, National Honors Society, and French Club. She was a Varsity football cheerleader and received the honor of UCA All American Cheerleader. In 2013 Eleventh Hour opened for Pentatonix at James S. Trent Arena. She earned a local award for her role as Gingy and the Sugar Plum Fairy in Kettering Fairmont's production of Shrek the Musical.

In October of 2016 Dietrix began working with Grammy-nominated producer Ronald Frost through Invention City Records. She released her first original single 'Adventure Over Romance' in 2018. Dietrix worked with MonCharlé Agency in Cincinnati to create a trailer for the album that was in the works at the time. Her debut album 'Undergrad' came out August 2, 2019 with Invention City Records.

During her time in college she spent terms as philanthropy chair, song chair, and academic committee member for the women's fraternity of which she is an alumni. In her final year of college Dietrix traveled with Buck-i-SERV to Uruguay and Bangladesh on trips centered around work with environmentally sustainable agriculture and community building. She graduated from the Ohio State University on May 3, 2020, via Zoom.
