Harvey Birdman, Attorney General: The Creators Break Down The Hero’s Star-Spangled Return
Daniel Kurland Oct 15, 2018

We chat with Erik Richter and Michael Ouweleen about the glorious return of Harvey Birdman for their new half-hour special.

Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law was a formative program for Adult Swim back during the network’s infancy that a return to this show’s world feels poignant in a way that it wouldn’t be for a lot of other series. The animated series started as a humble, tiny production, but the bulk of the cast has gone on to find incredible success in such a way that this homecoming feels rather star-studded now. Series creators, Erik Richter and Michael Ouweleen were smart to end Harvey Birdman when it was still on the top of its game, but they’ve also found the perfect moment to bring the series back. The superhero-turned-lawyer turns his litigious powers towards a megalomaniacal President and finds himself facing his biggest case to date.

Harvey Birdman, Attorney General Review (Spoiler Free)
Birdman’s back, baby! One of Adult Swim’s first and finest returns to take down a corrupt presidency in what’s an A+ reunion special.

This Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law review contains only light spoilers.

“I’ll take the case?”

“Ha Ha Ha, you Can go home again.”

Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law was a flagship program that was instrumental in helping Adult Swim establish its alternative brand in their early days. It could be very easy for this surprise return of the character to act as a welcome dose of nostalgia...

DVD Review: Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law – Season 3
Harvey Birdman, Attorney At Law – Season 3

Stars the voices of: Gary Cole, Stephen Colbert | Created by Michael Ouweleen, Erik Richter

Once a second-rate superhero, Harvey Birdman is now a third-rate lawyer, with ailments and attitude to boot. Although he works at an upscale law firm, it’s not clear whether Harvey ever went to law school. He is, however, comfortable with top-notch legal jargon and isn’t afraid to use it. He even has a nice suit to give him that polished and professional look– even if he still insists on wearing his superhero get-up underneath. In volume three, Harvey continues to find himself representing animated heavyweights and demonstrating his vast expertise in fields like copyright law, criminal defense and civil litigation – or at least faking it really well.

The final season of Harvey Birdman, Attorney at Law continues the legal adventures of our once-great superhero, who’s ditched his...
