Lucinda Royden

London native Lucinda Royden was fascinated with her perception the dark and mysterious from a young age. She wrote her first supernatural short story at the age of ten, 'Whispering Into The Night' - a novella about a young girl who is haunted by a demented spirit whose soul is bound to a diamond necklace she has inherited. While still in primary school, Lucinda received a certificate of distinction for a piece of creative writing that was selected for publication in a Young Writers anthology. During her years at secondary school, Lucinda's fondness of gothic and suspense literature drove her to take particular inspiration from groundbreaking, strong female writers such as Emily Bronte and Mary Shelley.

Lucinda uses this knowledge as a foundation for the development of filmic storytelling. She feels educated by the works of Kurbric and Coppola amongst others - their works having taught her to recognise the significance of detail observation and the role of symbolism in cinematic commutation. Lucinda graduated from Oxford Brookes University with a First Degree Honours in film.
