Soccer Aid for Unicef 2025, broadcast live and exclusively on ITV1, Itvx, Stv and Stv Player last week from Old Trafford, Manchester, has raised £15,280,163 for Unicef's vital work helping children grow up safe, healthy and able to play.
This year, with thanks to the Children’s Investment Fund Foundation, every donation made up to £5 million was doubled. Thanks to the generous UK public, this year’s fundraising amount sees the current total reach over £121million raised since 2006 – when Unicef UK Ambassador Robbie Williams founded the concept.
The hotly anticipated match took place at the sold-out Old Trafford football stadium in Manchester to an audience of over 70,000 people. The match ended 5-4 to World XI Fc, stealing the win back and keeping the overall lead with 8-6 wins since the inaugural 2006 match.

Saturday Night Live is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year. As part of the celebrations, which included a star-studded special episode last month, the series is crossing the pond for a new UK version. First airing in 1975, the live sketch comedy series has been a staple of American TV for 50 years. Some other countries have already joined in on the fun, with Japan launching its own version in 2012, and Canada hosting its own version from 2014-2015. Now, it's the UK's turn.
According to Deadline, a UK version of Saturday Night Live is officially in the works. The series was initially teased three years ago, with Sky developing the UK version. Now, Saturday Night Live UK has been given the green light. The new version is slated to debut in 2026, although a more precise release date has not yet been revealed. Lorne Michales, who created the series back in 1975, is executive producing the new version.

Starstruck producer-agency Avalon has taken a minority stake in the production outfit co-run by Adolescence director Philip Barantini.
It’s All Made Up Productions joins the Avalon stable and has plans to open an office in Barantini’s home town of Liverpool, we revealed last year, with a number of projects in development. Avalon, which produces Starstruck and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver and reps the likes of Rose Matafeo, Rob Delaney and Lee Mack, did not disclose its percentage stake in It’s All Made Up.
Barantini officially opened It’s All Made Up with finance exec Samantha Beddoe last year and the company has a hefty slate. Barantini is currently riding high off the hit success of Adolescence, which in just three weeks has become one of Netflix’s top 10 most-watched shows of all time. The ex-actor’s other credits include Boiling Point, Accused and Enola Holmes.

The United Kingdom has perfected the panel show in a way that other countries can't quite hack. A combination of quiz show and comedy series, panel shows have a basic game structure but are much looser and lower stakes than actual game shows; the game itself is merely an excuse for different comedians, actors, musicians, and celebrities in general to crack each other up. 8 Out of 10 Cats, Qi, Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Taskmaster, Have I Got News for You, Mock the Week, and many others have provided years (and often decades) of laughs, and one of the very best of the bunch is Would I Lie to You?
Would I Lie to You? has had the very funny Lee Mack (Not Going Out) and David Mitchell (Peep Show) as team captains since it began in 2007, and has been hosted by the wonderful Rob Brydon since 2009. The truly hilarious show recently finished airing its 18th series,...

Neil, a stressed-out security consultant, and Scott, a friendly blind man who seems to effortlessly charm their suburban community, are two very different characters in Bad Tidings. Their rivalry sets the stage for a holiday story that cleverly mixes personal problems with chaos.
Neil becomes more and more obsessed with Scott as Christmas Eve approaches. He thinks Scott is trying to bring him down, leading to a disastrous attempt to outshine Scott’s year-round Christmas lights. This rivalry gets worse when both men are forced to become co-chairs of the neighborhood watch, a job neither of them really wants but which becomes the center of their comedic tension.
The story gets more complicated when Neil’s over-the-top holiday decorations cause the power to go out, forcing everyone to leave for the holidays except Neil and Scott to stay behind and protect their empty homes from the Brennans, a feared local crime family.
