Jonathan Bennett is opening up about his husband Jaymes Vaughan‘s health.

In a new video shared on Instagram on Sunday (August 10), the 44-year-old Hallmark Channel star revealed that Jaymes, 42, can finally eat a meal normally after undergoing a procedure to correct his Schatzki ring, which is a painful condition that made him vomit when he ate.

According to the Cleveland Clinic, a Schatzki ring is “extra tissue that forms a circle on the inside of your lower esophagus. The ring narrows your esophagus so it may be hard for you to swallow food. Sometimes, food gets caught in your esophagus, causing sharp or burning pain.

Michelle Vicary is returning to Hallmark, this time as head of programming. In her new role, the longtime exec will oversee all production and original programming across Hallmark’s content platforms.

Vicary was part of Hallmark’s media business since its inception. After serving multiple positions, she exited the company as executive VP of programming in 2021 after 22 years at the company.

During her tenure, she spearheaded some of the most successful series and films for the company, including “When Calls the Heart,” “Good Witch,” and “Chesapeake Shores.”

Vicary expanded the company’s commitment to diverse storytelling, hiring multiple LGBTQ+ actors and greenlighting movies like “Wedding Every Weekend” and “The Christmas House,” the latter of which earned the network its first GLAAD Media Award nomination. One of her main focuses while at the company was to hire actors of all ages and from all beliefs and backgrounds, including Holly Robinson Peete.

Making her television acting debut in a 2001 episode of “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit,” veteran soap star Elizabeth Hendrickson has recently taken on a different kind of role, this time working behind the scenes as a director.

Hendrickson, who currently appears in the recurring role of Chloe Mitchell on “The Young and the Restless,” announced the news in an Instagram post, saying, “After 24 years in front of the camera, I’m thrilled to be able to tell you all that I’ve stepped behind it.” She added, “I’ve spent the past 18 months up in the booth, shadowing, observing & absorbing — not knowing if it would ever turn into something more. There were hurdles but I kept showing up, paying attention, and fell in love with the process.”

Hallmark and Peacock have had an amicable content-sharing partnership for three years, but now it has recently been reported that one of the most recognized networks is parting ways with another successful streaming service.

Meanwhile, TVLine reported that Hallmark’s library of content will leave Peacock in around one week, on Thursday, May 1. This means that Peacock subscribers should binge their favorite Hallmark series or movies before they disappear.

Peacock subscribers have been warned that all Hallmark productions on the streamer are set to be removed shortly. The fan-favorite Hallmark Channel star took to his Instagram account on Tuesday (April 1) to share photos from his shirtless hike in the Hollywood Hills and he included a message about quitting acting.

However, even with all the additions, the 2004 teen comedy movie has become a cult classic. Starring Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Lizzy Caplan, Lacey Chabert, and Amanda Seyfried, the actors are often recognized for their roles in the hit comedy. In an interview on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Seyfried reflected on the 2004 teen comedy and the “unadulterated fun” she had while making the film when she was 17.

Host Josh Horowitz reminded Seyfried how loved the film is to this day. “Until the day you die, a 14-year-old girl will come up to you every day and quote you as if it just came out the day before.” Horowitz said.

“I hope they quote it on my grave,” said Seyfried, who played Karen Smith in the movie. “That’s an organic moment. It was, in many ways, a perfect movie, and people relate to it, still. It connected us, and it continues to. I will always be excited to talk about it,” adding “Any day, I’ll honor that movie for what it did for me as a person.”

Casting for a television series is considerably different than casting for a film or a stage play in that it's about more than just finding the right ensemble for right now; creators need to consider each actor's capacity for maturing and/or evolving in their role, as well as their ability to work and play well with others. You might be able to get away with casting a bit of a malcontent on a movie (though most directors I've spoken to sternly discourage this line of thinking), but if someone's even just a tad contentious during the casting process, they could make everyone's life miserable over the long haul, and that's just not worth it.

Obviously, creators and casting directors try like hell to get it right the first time through, but compromise is always necessary. Sometimes your first choice suddenly becomes unavailable, sometimes they want too much money and...

Firstly, Hearties are waiting for When Calls The Heart Season 13 renewal. There was already a listing on Production Weekly showing Season 12, although Hallmark is airing that season now. That is not the first time that the industry publication has made a smilier season error.
