YouTube is no longer skewing young, according to its chief in the UK and Ireland.

Alison Lomax opened today’s Creative Cities Convention (Ccc) speaking about two decades of the Google-owned powerhouse social platform, which just celebrated its 20th birthday.

She said YouTube now reaches 90% of all age demographics each month and audiences would be surprised at who is watching what.

“We see less predictable splits across the generational line [these days] so we are seeing young people like longform content and podcasts, and older people watching shorts on their TV,” Lomax said. “It’s a place where people go for their passions and to find the communities they love and love watching. It’s happening organically. Everyone’s experiences are different and curated.”

Rewinding to 2005, when YouTube launched with its first ever video, “Me at the Zoo,” Lomax said there have been huge shifts including the “evolution of the creator economy.

Gary Lineker has shared his relief at the prospect of having the weekend to himself for the first time in his career, first as a professional footballer for England and, for the last 25 years, the host of the BBC’s flagship football highlights show Match of the Day.

British TV presenter Fred Sirieix now has an Olympic medallist in the family.

The daughter of the First Dates maitre d’ and restauranteur, Andrea Spendolini-Sirieix, won a dramatic bronze medal in the women’s sychronized diving 10m platform competition at the Paris games.

Spendolini-Sirieix and partner Lois Toulson moved up from fourth place to third with a final round dive that left her dad, who has been commentating on the diving for the BBC, in rapture as he leapt from his poolside seat. China won the event, with North Korea second.

Soon after, Sirieix posted a social media message, calling the bronze win a “beautiful moment” and saying he was “bursting with pride, joy and happiness.”

BBC Three series “Munya and Filly Get Chilly,” a spin-off from BBC One‘s “Freeze the Fear with Wim Hof” produced by Hungry Bear Media, is set to offer a light-hearted take on the challenges of the main show, which will follow a group of celebrities facing a test of mental strength under the guidance of extreme athlete Wim Hof. Exclusive: Amazon is planning to stream live Premier League fixtures for free on Twitch in the UK as it aims to give fans the chance to interact with each other while games are being played.

Twitch is hugely popular with gamers and Amazon thinks its chat feature will enable users to behave like pundits and share their views on the match as it happens. It is the first time Twitch, which Amazon acquired for $970M in 2014, has been used to show Premier League football.

Amazon will also make games available for free through Prime Video after securing an additional four fixtures as part of the Premier League’s coronavirus restart strategy. Its coverage gets underway with Crystal Palace vs Burnley on June 29.

Amazon made a small bit of British TV history on Tuesday night, becoming the first streaming service to broadcast live English Premier League football. But its coverage was not without the odd hitch.

Amazon Prime Video users got in touch with the company to report issues with their feed, as they attempted to tune into coverage of Burnley v Manchester City and Crystal Palace v Bournemouth.

A number of users posted images of their television showing the error message, “Something went wrong.” Others reported issues with buffering, while some complained about the lag in their stream.

The Amazon Help Twitter account was responding to people on the social media site, urging them to go through its troubleshooting steps and apologizing for the “poor experience.”

Amazon has announced that more than 40 presenters and former professionals will be part of its English Premier League lineup, with its coverage of the soccer competition kicking-off in December.

Amazon secured rights to show the Premier League in the UK last year, and will air 20 matches a season. Coverage will launch on December 3 with mid-week fixtures, before it shows 10 matches on December 26-27.

BBC presenter Gabby Logan will anchor the Sunset+Vine-produced action, alongside Eilidh Barbour — a BBC and Sky broadcaster — and Jim Rosenthal, a veteran who has covered the world’s biggest sporting events for major UK broadcasters.

Logan is already hosting weekly Amazon soccer show Back of the Net, but her presence on live coverage is still a coup for the Jeff Bezos-owned streamer. Logan is one of the BBC’s highest-profile presenters, taking home a salary of more than £290,000 and hosting shows including Sports Personality of the Year.

Amazon is to launch a weekly soccer series featuring former Liverpool legend Peter Crouch. The Svod service is to air weekly studio entertainment format Back of the Net during the English Premier League season – coming after it scored the rights to a handful of live games from next season.

Crouch, who scored 42 goals in three seasons for the six-times European champions, is hosting alongside broadcaster Gabby Logan and comedian John Bishop.

Amazon Prime Video premiered its original sports documentary series “All or Nothing: Manchester City” in Manchester, England Wednesday. The first episode of the series, which focuses on the English soccer champions, was screened in the presence of the whole Manchester City squad and its coach, Pep Guardiola, who previously coached Barcelona and Bayern Munich. Among those watching the series for the first time were global soccer stars Sergio Aguero, Gabriel Jesus and Kevin de Bruyne.

The series, which launches worldwide Friday, follows in the footsteps of the Emmy-winning “All or Nothing” NFL series, and subsequent shows that zeroed in on the New Zealand national rugby team, the All Blacks, and college football team the Michigan Wolverines.

Let's Play Darts for Sport Relief is returning for a second run on BBC Two.

The sporting event, hosted by Gabby Logan, begins filming at Lakeside Frimley Green in November.

Players including Martin Adams, Glen Durrant, Scott Mitchell, Deta Hedman, Bobby George, Anastasia Dobromyslova, Daryl Fitton and Andy Fordham will join forces with a number of celebrity players to compete to be champions.

The Edge is returning to our screens in the autumn, and this time around it welcomes a brand new host.

Gabby Logan will take over presenting duties from Mark Benton on the gameshow later this year.

Logan said: "Having always loved quiz shows I'm so excited to be hosting The Edge, a genuine test of knowledge and skill. I can't wait to see how the contestants get on!"

Flockstars kicked off on ITV last night, and thank goodness, because we really didn't have enough shows about celebrities competitively herding sheep.

Alright, so Flockstars was baffling - we have a lot of questions about it - and viewers were torn between admiring the attractive trainers, making comparisons to Alan Partridge's Monkey Tennis pitch and wildly yelling host Gabby Logan's catchphrase: "Release the sheep!"

So it wasn't exactly an unqualified success, then - but if anything saved the show it was adorable sheepdog puppy Bruce.

Make sure you turn up the volume on that one, because not only is Bruce a bonafide cutie, but he also yawns in the best way.

Perhaps he was making a comment on the quality of the show. It's not our place to judge.

But Bruce wasn't the only animal trying to find fame on the series, as a group of Hebridean sheep...

Well, that was something. ITV launched its new reality show Flockstars tonight and it's fair to say that we are utterly baffled.

The show sees a group of celebs learning how to become shepherds, so it's basically One Man And His Dog but with that one out of N-Dubz (no, not that one - and no, not that one either, he's still recovering from doing the fishing show on ITV 4... the other one).

We couldn't help but wonder what the heck we were watching. Are the contestants involved feeling sheepish now? (Sorry.) Was it just too woolly a concept for primetime? (Sorry.) Is it best if we move on from the terrible puns and onto the 15 questions we have about Flockstars? Probably.

1. Why is it so loud? Good God, the show began and the booming voice and loud music practically knocked us off our chairs. Won't somebody think of the sheepdogs?...

Flockstars: ITV, 8.30pm

The search is on for Britain's best celebrity sheep-herder (yes, really). Hosted by Gabby Logan, eight stars are teamed with professional sheepdogs and given rigorous training to compete in knockout trials testing their skill, technique and discipline.

Tonight, Strictly dancer Brendan Cole and his sheepdog Hoggy go head to head with TV presenter Amanda Lamb and Midge. Our money's on Amanda, if her name is anything to go by.

Celebrities have taken on a myriad of challenges in the name of light entertainment – cooking, dancing and even ski-jumping – but a new ITV show aims to add something different to the mix.

In a hilarious move, the broadcaster has remodelled One Man and His Dog to produce Flockstars, a series that sees stars take on sheepdog trials.

Presented by Gabby Logan, the show will feature eight celebrities who have each been paired with a professionally trained sheepdog partner.

Contestants – including veteran DJ Tony Blackburn, Strictly star Brendan Cole, Fazer from N-Dubz and broadcaster Amanda Lamb – will compete against one another in various knockout stages, designed to test their herding skills.

The star deemed to be the most proficient in terms of speed and penalty avoidance across the eight-week series will eventually be awarded the Flockstars Champion Shield.

Gok Wan, Gabby Logan and Made in Chelsea's Jamie Laing have modelled comedy glasses for Red Nose Day 2015.

Specsavers are selling the charity glasses for £3 (£1 goes to Comic Relief) in stores nationwide to raise money for this year's fundraising campaign.

Red Nose Day is asking the public to make their faces funny for money to help with fundraising, with people encouraged to wear funny glasses and transform themselves with face paint.

Earlier this week, Miranda Hart unveiled special fundraising statues of Britain's best loved comedians, which will pop up across the country in the coming weeks.

Nine new red noses and seven different Red Nose Day T-Shirts are also available to support Comic Relief's 2015 fundraising campaign.

Lenny Henry, Davina McCall and Claudia Winkleman will be among the hosts of Comic Relief's Red Nose Day on March 13 at 7pm on BBC One.

Clare Balding has signed a new two-year deal with Channel 4.

The presenter will host the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games, Crufts 2015 and 2016 and coverage of the Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot in 2015 among other broadcasts.

Her new contract will also see Balding scale back her anchoring of racing following Royal Ascot 2015.

Balding said: "I have been lucky and honoured to work as a racing broadcaster for the past 20 years and will continue to promote the sport on and off screen.

"I look forward to working with the enormously talented Channel 4 Racing team at Cheltenham and Royal Ascot next year and, of course, to the Paralympics in Rio in 2016."
