From Jay Lender and Micah Wright, They’re Watching is a horror comedy that follows the team from a reality TV show called “Home Hunters Global,” who have some very freaky encounters with a witch while exploring a small Eastern European town. They’re Watching will make its DVD debut courtesy of Anchor Bay Entertainment on October 4th, and is available now on VOD and Digital HD:

Careful, They’re Watching, but in an effort to ease the tension, We Got This Covered has an exclusive clip for Micah Wright and Jay Lender’s horror flick to share with you today, and it’s simply dripping with tension.
Billed as a horror-comedy at its dark and brooding core, They’re Watching sends a group of friends to Moldova in search of a peaceful retreat from the hustle and bustle. What they find, however, is anything but normal, irking a volatile religious cult birthed in the shadows of the Eastern European village.
Of those making the ill-advised – and likely one-way – trip to Moldova are Brigid Brannagh, Kris Lemche and David Alpay, and fans can look forward to the release of Wright and Lender’s genre mash-up tomorrow, March 25.
Look for Micah Wright and Jay Lender’s feature when They’re Watching creeps out of the shadows and into theaters today,...

What do you get when you combine uninventive found footage, a location chosen specifically for its cheap production costs, and CGI the likes of which has not been seen since the mid-1990s? Such a recipe could only result in They’re Watching, a horror comedy whose filmmakers appear to have no basic knowledge of how either genre works.
In all fairness, the film does bait its hook with an auspicious premise. Set in the former Soviet republic of Moldova (it was actually shot throughout Romania), it captures the crew of a House Hunters International-type reality show as they return to a remote village to follow up on a money pit acquired by a wealthy American artist (Brigid Brannagh) and her Eastern European footballer husband (Cristian Balint). As expected, a classic rural vs. urban conflict begins when the outsiders crash and secretly film a sacred funeral, causing the deeply superstitious populace to become hostile.

Be honest. We’ve all done it. Some of us willingly and with no apologies, while others of us are closet fans, but those reality real estate shows are popular and addictive. Perhaps it’s because they tap into a core element of the American dream, but whatever the reason, they’ve made an impact on what television looks like these days. With that said, it only seems logical that some creative soul would take this phenomenon and mash it up with another modern cultural trend.
The graphic novelists and animators Jay Lender and Micah Wright have done just that, they wrote and directed this melding of reality-based home shopping shows with found footage, faux-documentary style horror-comedy. That’s right. No, I didn’t stutter or lose my mind. This is a thing. A real thing. I know, your reaction right now is probably quite similar to mine when I first heard of this film,...

*Read In Russian-y Accent* “Only found-footage horror comedy in Moldova iz Best found-footage horror comedy in Moldova” – right? Sorry Dorothina, you’re not in Pavloka anymore. There’s a big cinematic world out there filled with found-footage hopefuls and, unfortunately, They’re Watching is pretty middling by comparison.
Filmmakers Jay Lender and Micah Wright do their best to conjure a witchy Eastern European tale when a reality show crew returns to detail a drastic home makeover. Home Hunters Global unites prospective buyers with fixer-upper dumps, and after an initial sale, host Kate Banks (Carrie Genzel) returns to update viewers on the progress.
In Kate’s latest season, Becky (Brigid Brannagh) and her soccer-playing husband Goran (Cristian Balint) bought the “worst house in Moldova,” and it’s time to witness the transformation. Kate returns to Pavloka with her camera duo, Alex (Kris Lemche) and Greg (David Alpay), along with Sarah (Mia Faith...

.Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. and .My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2. are not the only ones vying for your attention this weekend. Let me direct you to a small movie with some pretty big scares, it.s called .They.re Watching,. a film that is so funny, it.s scary.
Adapting the found footage genre, .They.re Watching. tells the tale of a group of American TV crew making a .House Hunters. style reality show in the quaint and mysterious village of Moldova in Eastern Europe.
The first half of the film, when we meet the characters, is the highlight for me. .They.re Watching. has a strong cast and each are likable enough to follow their crazy adventure. There.s the sound guy named Alex (Kris Lemche), Greg the photojournalist (David Alpay), Mia Faith is Sara the production assistant, and my favorite, Carrie Genzel who is the stern Type A producer Kate.

Open floor plan, stainless steel appliances and ... scary, unexplained rituals?
In an exclusive clip from They're Watching, the House Hunters-esque horror comedy from Micah Wright and Jay Lender, things get a little spooky when a TV crew member is filming B-roll footage. (A warning: The clip contains some Nsfw language.)

"Go make yourself useful, and go get me some B-roll shots," the woman's boss commands. "Shoot some f------ trees, some cows, just get the f--- out of my face."

Asked to describe their new found footage horror film They're Watching, writer-directors Micah Wright and Jay Lender had this to say: “You know that television show House Hunters International? Our movie’s like that, only at the end, everybody dies screaming.” If that sounds up your alley, get a taste of what they mean with this HitFix-exclusive clip from the film, which features one of the least-welcoming wall murals you've ever laid your eyes on. Watch the clip above or below, and check out They're Watching in theaters and On Demand on March 25. Official synopsis: When an American home improvement TV show visits a remote Eastern European village, the young crew thinks the lack of mocha lattés and free wifi will be the worst of their problems. But after their filming interrupts the superstitious villagers' private religious ritual, the situation takes a turn for the homicidal… and when the blood starts flowing,...

They're gonna wish they went with house number two!
Fans of House Hunters will get a kick out of the first trailer for the upcoming horror comedy They're Watching, which puts a creepy spin on your typical real-estate TV show.
Due out March 25, They're Watching centers on an American home-improvement TV show that takes an ill-fated trip to a remote Eastern European village to film an international episode of the series.
When their production gets in the way of the villagers' religious rituals, things go from bad (no Wi-Fi) to worse (murder).

A new trailer for They're Watching has been released. Very comedic, the clip shows a group of friends hounded by an Eastern European cult. From the creators of Spongebob Squarepants, the theatrical trailer also shows what can happen when you move to Moldova. Brigid Brannagh, Kris Lemche and Carrie Genzel star in this feature, which will be released later this month. The synopsis mentions a home improvement television show. From there, the protagonists enter a village, where you are not allowed to say the word "witch." Of course, someone does say the word and the town's weirdos begin to hound Becky (Brannagh) and her friends. The film releases on March 25th, 2016. On this date, the film will be available in a few select theatres and through video-on-demand. Film fans can find a few laughs now, in the trailer and even more, when the film releases soon! Release Date: March 25th,...

If you were a sports gamer in the 90′s, chances are that you’re familiar with Mutant League Football. Released by EA in 1993, the game was a modified version of Madden that featured a variety of mutants and monsters in a post-apocalyptic setting.
A number of spinoff games were released, but the original game was never followed up with a sequel. Fans could get what they’ve been hoping for with a new project from the original game’s designer, Michael Mendheim. In our latest Q&A feature, he talks with us about his new project, Mutant Football League:
Thanks for taking the time to talk with us. Many 90′s gamers have fond memories of Mutant League Football and I’m excited to hear about your new project. The first question I think many of our readers will have is: Why now? Can you tell me about your work to revive this franchise?...

Today marked the launch of the "Mutant Football League" Kickstarter, a spiritual successor to EA's 16-bit classic "Mutant League Football" from series creator Michael Mendheim. The Kickstarter campaign, which is seeking $750,000 to complete the game for iOS and Android devices--with stretch goals potentially bringing it to other platforms--resurrects a property that's been out of the public eye for some time now, albeit with a very vocal following.
But why go it alone without EA? And isn't Mendheim courting conflict with the publisher by using a concept (and name) so similar to the original?
First, a little background: EA's "Mutant League Football" was released 20 years ago this month on the Genesis, during the "Mortal Kombat"-era of development. This is when studios, capitalizing on the success of Midway's bloody fighter, began building games around carnage and gore--usually with a sense of humor to soften the impact. Enter "Mutant League Football," which...

Last week, the Writers Guild of America awarded the best writing in television, film, radio, promos, new media and video games. At least, that was the WGA's intention. Arguably the most popular video games scripts of the year, those for space opera "Mass Effect 2" and western "Red Dead Redemption," were curiously absent from the short list. Here's why.
In a response to "Deus Ex: Human Revolution" lead writer Mary De, who called attention to the omission on GamesIndustry.biz, Micah Wright, a representative of the WGA, defended the institution.
Wright explains that only members of the WGA's Videogame Writers Caucus can be nominees. Publishers BioWare and Take Two Interactive refused to pay the $60 membership fee.
"Bioware, for example, refused to submit a script for either 'Mass Effect 2' or 'Dragon Age' this year, and that's too bad, because both games would have likely been finalists. Similarly, Take Two Games refused...
