Real life husband and wife couple, celebrity cricketer Virat Kohli and Bollywood star Anushka Sharma, are merging their respective foundations – Anushka Sharma Foundation and Virat Kohli Foundation – to launch SeVVA, a joint non-profit initiative aimed at helping those in need.

Sharma and Kohli said in a joint statement: “In the words of Kahlil Gibran ‘for in truth it is life that gives unto life – while you, who deem yourself a giver, are but a witness.’ With this sentiment in mind, we have decided to work together through SeVVA aiming to reach out to as many people as possible. “This is Winden. Nothing ever happens here”, says Ulrich (Oliver Masucci), a family man who can occasionally be found climbing out the bedroom window of a recent widow after a spot of ‘breakfast’. It might sound like your classic horror-thriller set-up: the small sleepy town hit by a sudden tragedy, but it’s clear from the off-set that despite the very recent disappearance of a young school boy things run much deeper than this. Winden may appear to be a quiet town where nothing happens, but the town’s older residents know something. There is hushed talk of events that happened 33 years ago and the haunted looks on parents’ faces betray a fear that seems to say 'you don’t know the half of it'.

One of the quixotic elements of the entertainment industry is that it’s nearly impossible to manufacture success. Certain shows or movies can fashion a well-tread formula and use it to find favor with a grateful audience, but it’s hard to replicate lightning in a bottle. Nevertheless, Netflix seems intent on trying to continue its recent success in the genre arena, this time looking outside of North America for the next big TV mystery. It may very well have found it in “Dark,” the latest TV effort from “Who Am I — No System is Safe” team of Baran bo Odar and Jantje Friese and Netflix’s first German-language original series.
