It’s been 16 years since the release of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, the beloved 2008 romantic comedy that marked the directorial debut of Abbas Tyrewala and the acting debut of Imran Khan, nephew of Aamir Khan. To celebrate this milestone, the cast reunited via a special video where they sang the iconic song “Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na” from Manmohan Desai’s 1973 film Aa Gale Lag Jaa.

Mumbai, May 4 (Ians) The upcoming film ‘The Playback Singer’, directed by actor-turned director Chandan Roy Sanyal, will have its music by Mohan Kannan of ‘Aahatein’, ‘Kinaare’ and ‘Chaandaniya’ fame.

The lyrics to the album will be penned by Abbas Tyrewala. The film portrays the struggles and journey of three characters in a musical period romance. On the casting front, Chandan will be joined by actress Anupriya Goenka and Nidhi Singh.

Starring Shah Rukh Khan, Deepika Padukone and John Abraham, the Yash Raj Films spy action thriller ended a box office drought for the Hindi-language Bollywood industry, which had a lean 2022, and marked a comeback for Khan, not seen as a leading man since 2018’s “Zero.”

“There was a lot of curiosity to see Shah Rukh Khan back after his hiatus – he took a break from media, from appearances, he just became inaccessible to the world, there suddenly was a thirst that he created for him – today, audiences are used to stars being out there in social media and events and everywhere,” Anand told Variety.

“He created that enigmatic quality, that mystery around him, which a star should have and then did a film that is in a very popular genre.

There is no reason why any review of Shah Rukh Khan’s Pathaan (directed by Siddharth Anand but it’s an Srk showcase all the way) needs to be written. The two-and-a-half hour eruption of stylish action will be seen at least once by every movie patron in India, and then of course out West where Sharon Stone, I believe, has already bought bulk tickets for the entire weekend for her friends, family, fans and househelp .

Pathaan is a very slick action film. The stunts leave us open mouthed , like Sharon Stone when she saw Srk pass by.

We get to see Shah Rukh Khan more than just pass by in the title role. He is all there muscled and armed ready to take on the world to protect his country. There is a lot of stress in the rippling writing on how patriotic ‘Pathaan’ is.

However now we hear that on Monday a local court has acquitted Zinta in the case. Mumbai, Nov 11: Actor Imran Khan, who is going through a rough patch in his career, says his only success has come from first time directors.

"The funny thing in my life is that my only success is with the first time director. Anytime I have gone away from the first time directors, things have not worked for me," Imran started his career with Abbas Tyrewala's directorial debut "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na", a hit at the box office.

"Logically, if I think about 'Kidnap', the director (Sanjay Gadhvi) had given a blockbuster like 'Dhoom', but it didn't work for me. My understanding is that I should work with guys of my age,".

It seems that writer Abbas Tyrewala has decided to take on an opponent who won't take allegations lying down. "I have a film titled 'Sabki Bajegi Band', which is a comedy. Then there is Abbas Tyrewala's 'Mango', which is also a comedy. Then there is a horror film titled 'Machli Jal Ki Rani Hai', in which a ghost captures me," the 29-year-old said Tuesday at the inauguration of a designer store here.

Talking about "Sabki Bajegi Band", Swara said: "It is a comedy based on relationships and I play a dedicated and idealistic wife."

Mumbai, July 23: Actor Chandan Roy Sanyal, known for playing Shahid Kapoor's best friend in "Kaminey", will be seen in Abbas Tyrewala's "Mango" and says it is an absurd love story.

Talking about the concept of the upcoming movie, Chandan told Ians: "'Mango' is a very absurd love story. It's a romantic comedy, which has three boys and two girls. I am very excited about the project as it's a very funny love story."

Chandan, who is working with Tyrewala, for the first time, finds him "an excellent filmmaker". "He is one of the most intelligent directors I have ever come across. He is a wonderful writer as well. I feel grateful.

Panaji, June 28: Director Abbas Tyrewala is back with a romantic comedy titled "Mango" and describes his latest offering as a "wicked film".

Shot in every corner of Goa, "Mango" is a fun and sexy movie, Tyrewala told Ians.

"It is a wicked film. If there is romance, it has got certain black notes. If there is comedy, it has got sexy notes," said the director of hit film "Jaane Tu... Ya Jaane Na" .

The movie, co-produced by Multi Screen Media Private Limited in association with Kaleidoscope Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (Kepl), stars VJ-cum-actor Rannvijay, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Swara Bhaskar.

It has been confirmed that Siddharth Anand’s upcoming film Bang Bang, an adaptation of the Hollywood film Knight and Day will release worldwide on 1 May 2014. The film, which will star Hrithik Roshan and Katrina Kaif in the leading roles, will officially commence shooting next month. It was initially scheduled to release on Valentine’s Day 2014, but has now been changed to a May release.

Siddharth Anand is a famous name within the industry after having directed hit films like Salaam Namaste (2005) Bachna Ae Haseeno (2008) and Anjaana Anjaani (2010). How far have writers been successful in getting the Copyright Amendment Act implemented?

Right now, the new Copyright Board is being formed which will then confirm the rules that will make the amended Act operational. So really speaking, it is not in the writers’ hands. We have made our presentation to the Registrar at the meetings of stakeholders that were convened a few months ago. And we are ready with our flow-chart and plan of action, as soon as the Board calls us for that final meeting to confirm the protocols involved.

The Indian release of Disney’s The Avengers will be accompanied by a touch of homegrown desi flavour, with the big-budget superhero flick being given its very own official Hindi theme song!

The honour of performing the theme song – especially written for the Hindi release goes to popular Indian band Agnee, who beat out close competition from Euphoria. Filmmaker and lyricist Abbas Tyrewala has provided the lyrics for the track, entitled ‘Hello Andheron’ (Hello Darkness) while Agnee have composed the track’s music.

Marvel's The Avengers is reuniting legendary Seattle grunge rockers Soundgarden for their first song in fifteen years. Live to Rise will play over the end credit sequence of Joss Whedon's Marvel superhero adventure, with Chris Cornell singing lead vocals.

The track will appear on Avengers Assemble, a compilation of songs inspired by and used in this summer's Marvel's The Avengers. The album will be in stores and available for download starting May 1st, along with the score by Alan Silvestri. Soundgarden plans to release their first album in nearly two decades later this year.

In related soundtrack news, Indian film distributors Utv Motion Pictures have teamed with Marvel Studios to produce their own unique soundtrack for Indian audiences. Instead of hearing Soundgarden wail away at Live to Rise, they will get the hugely popular international band Agnee with the song Hello Andheron, which was written by noted filmmaker Abbas Tyrewala.

One of this summer’s most awaiting blockbusters is getting a theme song in hindi for its release in India. Indian indie band Agnee have composed a song, with lyrics by Abbas Tyrewala for The Avengers / Avengers Assemble, which will be released by Utv in India. The song, titled ‘Hello Andheron’ (Hello Darkness), was launched at an event on Monday night in Mumbai, where Iron Man made an appearance (the suit, not Rdj).

This is not the first time a hindi song has been added to a Hollywood movie for its release in India. Back in 2004, Pakistani band Strings composed a song ‘Na Jaane Kyun’ (I Don’t Know Why) for Spiderman 2, and for the release of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader in 2010, Shaan composed and Sriram sang a song called ‘Rehnuma‘.
