‘Agent Revelation’ Review
Image
Stars: Derek Ting, Michael Dorn, Kayla Ewell, Carole Weyers, Eve Mauro, Chris Reid, Terrance Christopher Jones, Marikah Cunningham, Matthew Ryan Burnett, Ted Briones, Maxine Bahns, Eric Mark, Cory Tucker | Written and Directed by Derek Ting

Have you ever wondered what happened to Michael Dorn after Star Trek? Me too! He’s in Agent Revelation…

Agent Revelation kicks off with some brilliant B-movie direction, approaching a house in the desert (and some sheep). Before we know what is happening, two middle aged men are chasing each other, while our B movie director does his best to make it look dynamic and exciting (he fails). Before we know what is happening. One of them is CGI effect, vomiting some blood onto the other one and some special forces types are then running him down.

We are in the future, with some sci-fi effects and some ripe acting. I do not want to...

2012 NBA Draft Results
2012 NBA Draft Results

Yesterday marked the day of the 2012 NBA Draft and many things happened the way they were supposed to. Anthony Davis went first overall, David Stern was booed whenever he appeared and every pick after #1 was a crapshoot. Charlotte was the first to put speculation to rest by taking Michael Kidd-Gilchrist with the second pick over Bradley Beal, Thomas Robinson and other other hopefuls.

Surprises were plentiful and present throughout the draft as well. Some highlights include Andre Drummond falling all the way to Detroit at #9, the Toronto Raptors reaching for Terrence Ross at #8, Dion Waiters taken by Cleveland at #4 and Perry Jones falling all the way to the Oklahoma City Thunder at pick #28.

In general, teams tended to draft based on need rather than on talent. I would have to say that the Thunder more than likely may have taken the ‘steal’ of the draft in Perry Jones.

Photos of Jay-z taken with the University of Kentucky men's basketball team after their win over North Carolina in the Regional Finals of the Ncaa tournament on Sunday have drawn the wary eyes of the NBA.

CBSSports.com reports that the NBA will be investigating Jay-z's postgame congratulatory visit to the Kentucky Wildcats locker room at the Prudential Center in Newark, New Jersey.

Such visits normally would be considered harmless, but Jay-z is a minority owner of the New Jersey Nets, and contact between NBA personnel and potential NBA prospects is prohibited. Kentucky has at least two possible lottery picks in Brandon Knight and Terrence Jones, should they declare for the NBA draft.

The photos and video began making the Internet rounds the day after the win, showing Jay-z posing...

America's Cold-Case Crisis
Testing old rape kits could put countless rapists in prison-and exonerate others who were wrongly convicted. Linda Fairstein on the tragedy of letting these truth-tellers collect dust.

Charles Courtney, Jr., was arrested in Franklin County, Indiana, in September 1996, for the knifepoint rape of his wife, Mary Jane, when she told him she wanted a divorce the night he returned from a trip on his job as a long-distance truck driver. Like defendants in many domestic-violence cases, Courtney was offered a plea to a lesser charge of sexual battery. As such, his two-year sentence was far lighter than it would have been had he raped a stranger-a sad truth about many rapists whose victims are partners or acquaintances. That conviction earned the government the right to put Courtney's genetic profile in the FBI's convicted-offender databank. He was released from prison on January 4, 1998.

Morning Meme: The View from "Sue's Corner," Remakes of "Popeye" "Austin Powers" and "Laverne & Shirley", plus Turtles!
Furry Vengeance in two minutes, Steve McQueen in all his glory, plus weaponized peppers and Buju Banton is unhappy in jail.

I know I mentioned Garry Marshall was trying to do a big-screen remake of Laverne & Shirley starring Jessica Biel and Jennifer Garner. I just hoped it wouldn’t happen to another piece of my childhood. But I’m now trying to wrap my head around the idea that Jamie Foxx is writing it. Fantasy casting for Lenny & Squiggy?

Sir Elton John and Lady GaGa are going to queer up Sting’s Rainforest Fund Concert May 13th at Carnegie Hall. This marks the 21st birthday for the event.

Murder music artist Buju Banton is still in jail awaiting trial on drug charges, and his lawyers think that jail is a mean place. They’re complaining that the jail should cater to his requested diet and he shouldn’t be punished for breaking the rules.

Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart (2009)
Check Out 'Crazy Heart,' 'Young Victoria' And 'A Town Called Panic' In This Week's unLimited
Jeff Bridges in Crazy Heart (2009)
With "Avatar" receiving great reviews and topping critics' awards, the 3-D sci-fi blockbuster will be a huge hit with all kinds of moviegoers this weekend, not just the mainstream audiences that typically go for lots of action and special effects. But if you're looking for an alternative, at least until the crowds die down, there are a few smaller movies opening this week that might be of interest. Actually, two of these spotlighted limited release offerings open tomorrow, so you might have time to see them before you have a chance to see James Cameron's latest. And if you're not in one of the cities playing these films this weekend, hopefully they'll garner enough Oscar buzz to warrant a wider release soon enough.

"Crazy Heart"

What it is: Jeff Bridges stars in the drama "Crazy Heart," about a broken-down, alcoholic country singer named Bad Blake, who turns his life...
