The first trailer for Sheriff Country finally came out, showing Morena Baccarin as Mickey Fox in the first Fire Country spinoff. In the trailer, Mickey can be seen dealing with different types of difficult situations and various criminals. Mickey’s father, Wes, reappears in the trailer, which also shows scenes that were already part of Mickey’s Fire Country season 3 appearance.

In that episode, viewers got a first taste of Mickey’s no-nonsense style as the Edgewater County Sheriff’s Sergeant. Now she’s stepping into her own series, and from the trailer alone, it’s clear she has her hands full.

As her name suggests, Evil-Lyn is a wicked and powerful sorceress who serves as Skeletor's second-in-command. Lyn was played by Meg Foster in the previous live-action movie, and was voiced by Game of Thrones alum Lena Headey in Netflix's Masters of the Universe: Revelation animated series, which added some new dimensions to the character.

Earlier this week, Amazon MGM unveiled the official logo for the live-action Masters of the Universe movie - which also included a new version of the '80s animated series' theme - in advance of the studio's Sdcc presentation, and some photos from the Con's Motu display have now been shared online.

There's no sign of any characters from the movie, unfortunately, but we do have a first look at He-Man's (Nicholas Galitzine) Power Sword, aka the Sword of Grayskull, and Skeletor's (Jared Leto) signature ram's-head Havoc Staff.

When doing press for Bumblebee, director Travis Knight professed to being a huge fan of the original G1 Transformers cartoon from the 80s. His fandom would come through with that movie as the designs and characters felt more in-tune with the source material than Bay’s versions. Amazon MGM Studios and Mattel have unveiled the title treatment for the Masters of the Universe live-action film, which evokes the brand’s classic logo with a modern touch.

The sizzle reel below features the title translated into an array of languages, including the fictional language of Eternian.

Directed by Travis Knight (Bumblebee), the global phenomenon arrives in theaters on June 5, 2026.

Nicholas Galitzine stars as He-Man alongside Camila Mendes as Teela, Alison Brie as Evil-Lyn, Jared Leto as Skeletor, Idris Elba as Duncan/Man-at-Arms, and Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress.

The cast also includes Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson as Malcom/Fisto, Sam C. They may not be fabulous secret powers, but Amazon MGM Studios has revealed the new title treatment for their upcoming Masters of the Universe movie. The newly released video features the logo for the upcoming film, which, like its 1987 predecessor, will simply be called Masters of the Universe. The logo takes its design cues from the original logo for the franchise, which first graced toy packaging, TV screens, and comic books back in 1982.

The clip also features a music sting derived from the 1982 cartoon's theme song, albeit in a considerably more lush and orchestrated form. It also indicates a worldwide release, presenting the logo in a variety of different languages. Fireflystar and Hollywood icon Morena Baccarin says part of her "would be so excited" to revisit Firefly in a follow-up series.

Per Bleeding Cool, Baccarin responded to the question whether a Firefly/Serenity reunion series might come into form some time in the near future, saying, "There's always talk. There's always people asking about it." Baccarin continued, "I'll put it this way. Like, is there going to be a 'Firefly' reboot with all of us in it? Live action? I seriously doubt it."

CBS is betting big on the upcoming Fire Country spinoff, Sheriff Country.

While most new broadcast series in recent years start with 10-13 episode orders, the Morena Baccarin-fronted offshoot is beginning with a full season order.

During an appearance on the Tuesday, July 22 episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You podcast, Morena opened up about her casting on the show.

In doing so, she dished that Sheriff Country has a 20-episode order.

The news is somewhat surprising, but when you consider that this show snagged a series order over a year ago, CBS likely knows enough about it to believe it can be nurtured into a hit.

Fire Country has flamed out quite a bit, and with a cast shake-up on the horizon, the hope is that the overall franchise will remain viable for the years to come.

Crossovers May Be Out of the Question...

One thing might make Sheriff Country and Fire Country crossover episodes more difficult when both TV shows set in the fictional town of Edgewater release on CBS in Fall 2025. During an episode of Michael Rosenbaum’s Inside of You, Morena Baccarin revealed the reason behind Sheriff Country filming in Toronto instead of Vancouver, where Fire Country is filmed.

The challenge stemmed from her initial inability to take on the role of Sheriff Mickey Fox due to her family living in New York City. Unfortunately, the different locations make it more difficult for Fire Country and Sheriff Country to have frequent crossover episodes.

“I said to them, ‘This is a no-brainer for me, but I cannot shoot in Vancouver.' There’s, like, no way that my family survives, with three kids in New York City. [There’s no way] that this could work. [...] I was shocked, because you know how these negotiations go.

Back in April, Fire Country front man Max Thieriot confirmed for TVLine that the CBS hit’s first spinoff, Sheriff Country, would be filming in Toronto — more than 2,000 miles east of Vancouver, where Fire Country‘s own production is based.

As such, any crossovers between the two shows, which will air back-to-back on Friday night this fall, “will be challenging,” Thieriot admitted, but “they are still something we plan to do.”

People with an Amazon Prime Video subscription can catch one film that is being "elevated" on the global streaming platform. Vertical's Elevation, the 2024 post-apocalyptic sci-fi film led by Captain America: Brave New World star Anthony Mackie, is currently sitting in the top 10 on Prime Video's streaming charts. While the film itself did not get great reviews, the sci-fi actioner is clearly making waves for people at home.
