Less than a week before his untimely death, Linkin Park frontman Chester Bennington joined the band for a filming of an episode of Carpool Karaoke: The Series. But whether the episode ever sees the light of day will be “completely” up to Bennington’s family.

Days after his funeral was held in Rancho Paolo Verdes, California, fans are continuing to pay tribute to Chester Bennington in creative and artistic ways.

One of the latest memorials to receive attention was a 20-foot mural painted on the back of a newly opened pizzeria in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles.

It took local muralist Jonas Never, 35, just two days to create the mural with spray cans and house paint, the artist told Variety.

“I used to take the pitching mound to the sound of ‘One Step Closer,’ ” said the former baseball player-turned-artist, who worked with artists Kryst and Kub to complete the piece.

Austin Carlile — the former lead singer of the band Of Mice and Men — posted a picture of the passes on Instagram. In the photo, the back of the guest pass has an...

Linkin Park Promise 'The Catalyst' Video Will Be 'Very Different'
Joe Hahn 'likes to go for something big,' bassist Phoenix Farrell says of LP DJ's vision for new clip.

By James Montgomery

Linkin Park have spent much of the past year touting the overall insanity of their upcoming A Thousand Suns album (it's a "grandiose insanity," in case you were wondering), and that idea certainly carries over into the first single, an aching slice of synth doomery titled "The Catalyst." It seems that, every step of the way, the band is trying very hard to move beyond their nu-metal roots.

Linkin Park Say New Single 'The Catalyst' Is 'A Risk, But Worth It'
'We wanted a track that represented where the album was going to be and how it was going to work,' says bassist Phoenix Farrell.

Last week, gamers everywhere thrilled to the new trailer for the upcoming "Medal of Honor," which was directed by Linkin Park's Joseph Hahn and features the band's brand-new single, "The Catalyst."

And while the trailer no doubt had "Moh" fanatics going crazy, it may have left LP fans feeling a bit confused. Because "The Catalyst" is undoubtedly unlike any song the band has ever released. A moody, synth-heavy, decidedly doomy rumination on the broken times in which we live, it seems to back up the group's claims that their new album, A Thousand Suns, will be a drastic departure from anything they've done in the past.

And that, according to LP bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell, was precisely the point.
