Classic 1990s comedy chat show The Kumars is returning to television, here are the details.

In the 1990s, there were two shows which brought black British comedy into the mainstream. The first was The Real McCoy, a sketch show which launched the television careers of double acts Curtis Walker and Ishmael Thomas, and Llewella Gideon and Collette Johnson. Later series featured Robbie Gee, Eddie Nestor, Judith Jacob, Kulvinder Ghir, Meera Syal and the much missed Felix Dexter, amongst others.

The second series was sketch show Goodness Gracious Me, which premiered on the BBC in 1997. Taking an irreverent look at Asian-British experience, the series is probably best known for the now iconic ‘Going For An English’ sketch, which poked fun at the stereotypical British experience of going for a curry, but flipping races to an Indian family going out for bland English food.

Exclusive: The Kumars are plotting a return — this time on American television. Fox has ordered a presentation for multi-camera comedy Meet The Kumars, a followup to the award-winning 2001 BBC series The Kumars At No. 42. Most of the original cast is back for the U.S.-flavored revival of the family sitcom/talk show.

Fox also has come in as a partner on The Donut (working title), a single-camera family business comedy in development at Canada’s CBC from Catherine Reitman and Philip Sternberg, stars of CBC/Netflix’s popular comedy Workin’ Moms, which Reitman created.

The two commissions are part of Fox’s international content expansion, which involves developing and producing scripted series with local creators and studios in English-language territories, currently Canada and the UK and ultimately Australia as well.

Doctor Who. Love it or hate it, it’s a massive part of British culture. There can’t really a person in England who doesn’t know the terms Tardis, Dalek, or Sonic Screwdriver.

As the Doctor and Ace walked into the sunset in 1989’s Survival, little did anyone know that the series was soon to be cancelled, possibly gone forever.

Luckily, in 2005, much loved writer Russell T Davies revived the show for the 21st century. This separated Who into two categories – Classic Who, and NuWho.

So, to count down to the Christmas special, here is my review of each NuWho Doctor’s best episodes.

Exclusive: First images released as UK funding body backs sequel to 1995 football hooligan film.

Screen Yorkshire’s Yorkshire Content Fund has invested in the sequel to 1995 football hooligan drama I.D.

Vincent O´Connell, who wrote the first film centred on a policemen who goes undercover to infiltrate a gang of football hooligans, has returned to write the sequel.

Directed by Joel Novoa (God’s Slave), filming is underway in Hull.

Producers are Sally Hibbin for Parallax (I.D.) and Patrick Cassavetti (Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas).

Linus Roache, Simon Rivers and Neil Pearson star alongside Lee Ross, Richard Graham and Perry Fenwick, who all appeared in the original.

The plot centres on a young British Muslim undercover cop (Rivers) who is given the task of shadowing a football gang on their European tours.

Rivers is best known for his three-year stint on BBC1’s Doctors, appearing in more than 400 episodes of the medical soap.

Unifrance has unveiled the line-up of the fifth edition of its MyFrenchFilmFestival.com, its online event focused on French-language features and shorts that have had little international exposure as yet.

Running January 16 to February 16 2015, the festival will showcase 10 features and 10 shorts.

This year’s jury will be presided over by Michel Gondry and also feature Belgium director Joachim Lafosse, Israeli Nadav Lapid and Mauritanian Abderrahmane Sissako.

The winning film will be awarded €15,000 to be divided equally between the director, producer and sales agent.

It’s his final battle and he’s been fighting it for a while. The Doctor is facing the joint challenge of a mysterious event in space that has summoned lots of aliens to one place and helping Clara cook Christmas dinner. There are also elements from every series of Matt’s Doctor, which will come to a head in this special. Things that we’ve laid down for years are going to be paid off.

Sky's revival of The Kumars has been given an air date by Sky1 and a selection of A-list stars have been signed up for the comedy series.

The Kumars, the comedy creation of Sanjeev Bhaskar, Meera Syal and Vincent Ibrahim, returns to screens on Wednesday, January 15 on Sky1.

The show, which was previously titled The Kumars at No.42, aired on the BBC between 2001 and 2006.

New celebrity guests lined up for the comedy chat show include Harry Potter star Daniel Radcliffe, Us comedy legend Chevy Chase and Broadchurch actress Olivia Colman.

Personally, I find Matt Smith to be the most interesting Doctor of the New Who, due to my comparison to the New Who doctors as grades in high school.

Nine (Christopher Eccleston) represents the freshman year, as he is obviously a little off, not entirely in touch with everything that happens around him, and is unnaturally susceptible to falling head over heels for someone. Ten (David Tennant), who is my favorite and my personal first Doctor, represents the sophomore year- he’s more matured, knows exactly what he wants in the world, but breaks like a Sherlockian when bad things happen. Holby City fans will see veteran actor Ron Moody make an appearance on the show next month, Digital Spy can reveal. The 88-year-old, best known for playing Fagin in Lionel Bart's stage and film musical Oliver!, recently took on the guest part of Vincent Mancini for an upcoming episode of the BBC medical drama. Chicago -- A man who was reportedly interrupted by a Chicago musician while brutally beating his wife was found not guilty last week in the attack that followed.

On June 29, 2010, Justin Pivec was reportedly beating and choking his wife in the 1300 block of West Ohio Street when she spotted Madina Lake bassist Matthew Leone and yelled for him to call police, the Chicago Tribune reports.

When Leone attempted to intervene, Pivec allegedly attacked the 35-year-old musician.

"He's a Good Samaritan who got the worst end of it," a police source told the Tribune at the time. "This is a guy who if he had not gotten immediate treatment could have taken a bad, bad turn."

Leone was reportedly kicked in the head more than 10 times and left unconcious in the street following the attack. Doctors had to remove a part of his skull due to massive head injuries.

The passing of Leslie Nielsen last year was a very sad day indeed. While many actors have tried to nail the same style of deadpan comic delivery, none have managed it quite as well as Nielsen. The hero of Dr. Who has the ability to transform and recreate himself many times over. This is an ability shared by the Dr. Who franchise in general, which has allowed the BBC to continue producing new episodes, despite the fact that the character first debuted in 1963. The modern revival of Dr. Who, which began in 2004, carries on the tradition of constantly revamping the show and replacing the actor who portrays the enigmatic hero.

For those unfamiliar with the series, it depicts the adventures of a time-traveling alien genius who uses his vast intellect to defend the innocent against dangerous monsters and space invaders. The unnamed hero travels under the alias of “the Doctor.” Doctor who, you ask? No one knows. Hence, the title of the show.

Robert Kirkman announced today that he is launching and will helm Skybound, a new division of Image Comics that will give a new generation of comic book artists and creators the opportunity to publish their works as Skybound Originals.

From the Press Release:

With Skybound, Kirkman will handpick up-and-coming creators and maintain an active role in promoting and expanding the projects of the growing talent pool. Artist and company alike will be fully vested in the development of their properties into new mediums (i.e., television, film, etc.) globally.

Image Comics, the publishing company that has published Kirkman’s original works (including the New York Times bestselling series The Walking Dead and Invincible), will provide publishing and distribution support to Skybound. Kirkman will continue his duties as Partner at Image Comics and use the Skybound imprint to release his own titles as well as every Skybound Original to follow.

If there's one thing Doctor Who likes to do, its visit old famous people. In Season One we had Charles Dickens in 'The Unquiet Dead' (S01E03), Season Two had the (admittedly less familiar) Madame du Pompadour in ‘Girl In The Fireplace’ (S02E05), Season Three brought us William Shakespeare in 'The Shakespeare Code’ (S03E03) and Agatha Christie in Season Four’s ‘The Unicorn and the Wasp’ (S04E08). Much like its predecessors (with the exception of the phenomenal ‘Girl in the Fireplace’), ‘Vincent and The Doctor’ failed to truly impress.

Before I start, I'd just like to thank everyone for their kind words following my Glee post yesterday. It means a lot!

Anywho, a quick-ish review of possibly my favourite Moffat-era Doctor Who so far coming up after the jump.

When I heard that Richard Curtis would be doing an episode of Doctor Who, I was very happy. Being a big fan of Curtis, I was instantly aware of all the possibilities that having him write a script would bring - most notably, clever humour and a lot of emotion.

And I'm happy to admit that I was right.

Steven Moffat has revealed the titles of the first few stories of Matt Smith's era as the Eleventh Doctor.

The series begins with The Eleventh Hour written by Moffat himself and is believed to follow directly on from the regeneration in The End of Time. Episode Two is The Beast Below also by Moffat with Episode Three seeing the return of the Doctor's greatest foe in Victory of the Daleks by Mark Gatiss.

Speaking to Doctor Who Magazine, Moffat also confirmed a number of guest stars for the new series coming to the UK in the Spring.

Arthur Darvill will join the cast of Episode One as Rory. Darvill was previously seen in Little Dorrit, playing Tip Dorrit in the 2008 series.

Sophie Okonedo stars in Episode Two. She recently seen playing Winnie Mandela in the film Mrs Mandela and has previously starred in series such as Criminal Justice, Father and Son and Clocking Off.

Coronation Street was the most-watched soap on Wednesday, figures show. The Manchester soap's third episode of the week, in which Jake fell into Michelle's life, averaged 8.75m (39.2%) at 7.30pm, before ITV2's repeat at 12.30am added 134k (3.7%). Emmerdale's outing at 7pm, which saw Vincent protesting his innocence following Sally's untruthful violence claims, averaged 6.83m (33.1%).
