Magnify has closed multiple territory sales on Tyler Taormina’s Cannes Directors’ Fortnight entry Christmas Eve In Miller’s Point following its world premiere last month.

Deals have closed in the UK (Vertigo), France (Paname), Scandinavia (Nonstop), Australia and New Zealand (Rialto), and Middle East (Gulf).

Magnify has also announced deals for India (Big Tree Entertainment), Indonesia (Falcon), Five Star (former Yugoslavia), Eastern Europe (HBO), and Greece (Cinobo). Multiple outstanding territories remain under negotiation.

IFC Films holds North American rights and plans a November 15 theatrical release.

IFC Films has acquired the North American rights to “Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point,” a holiday season dramedy that had its world premiere at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

The film was directed by Tyler Taormina (“Ham on Rye”) and stars newcomer Matilda Fleming, as well as Michael Cera (“Barbie”), Francesca Scorsese (“We Are Who We Are”), Gregg Turkington (“Ant-Man”), Elsie Fisher (“Eighth Grade”), Sawyer Spielberg (“Masters of the Air’) and Maria Dizzia (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”). IFC will release “Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point” later this year on Nov. 15.

The film kicks off as a rambunctious extended family arrives at their Long Island hometown for the holidays. But before the night is over, two teenage cousins use the chaos sparked by the yuletide reunion to sneak out into the wintry night and make the holiday their own.

Magnify, the rebranded international sales arm of Magnolia Pictures, has acquired global and U.S. sales rights to “Christmas Eve in Miller’s Point” in the run up to its world premiere at Cannes Directors’ Fortnight.

Directed and co-writer by Tyler Taormina (“Ham on Rye”), the film stars Michael Cera (“Barbie”), Francesca Scorsese, Maria Dizzia (“Martha Marcy May Marlene”), Ben Shenkman (“Billions”), Elsie Fisher (“Eighth Grade”), Gregg Turkington (“Entertainment”), Sawyer Spielberg (“Masters of the Air”) breakout actor Matilda Fleming, among others.

Locarno Film Festival selection 'Ham On Rye' lands at Factory 25 (exclusive)
Rites-of-passage comedy centres on bizarre ceremony at local delicatessen.

New York-based Factory 25 has acquired worldwide rights to Tyler Taormina’s Locarno Film Festival selection and coming-of-age comedy Ham On Rye.

Taormina’s feature directorial debut explores a suburban community where the fate of teenagers’ lives hinges on a bizarre ritual that takes place in the local deli. The film received its international premiere in Locarno on Aug. 10.

Haley Bodell, Cole Devine, Audrey Boos, Gabriella Herrera, and Adam Torres lead an ensemble of more than 100 performers, including non-actors, musicians, and Nickelodeon child stars from the 1990s.
