After about a decade of streaming on the reputable platform Netflix, Canada’s long-running series Heartland is unfortunately leaving the streamer in the U.S. soon. Developed by Murray Shostak, Heartland debuted on CBC on October 14, 2007, before finding a home on Netflix in the early 2010s, when it was first licensed in the United States and later in international territories. What's on Netflix now confirms that the family-themed show’s run is coming to an end in a few weeks, a huge blow to many who have been anticipating the upcoming Season 19.
Netflix's page for the drama notes that the “Last Day to Watch” is Thursday, July 31. So, from Friday, August 1, the first sixteen seasons of Heartland, comprising 249 episodes, won’t be available on Netflix. Additionally, Seasons 17 and 18, which have already aired in Canada, won’t arrive on the streamer as initially expected. But there’s still good news! If Netflix proceeds with the removal,...

Beef is brewing heading into Season 18 on Heartland. The longest-running drama in Canadian TV history premieres April 17 on Up Faith & Family streaming service for fans stateside. After Garland Foods dropped the Bartlett-Fleming company in favor of rival Pryce Beef, competition has only added to the challenges keeping the long running family business afloat. Samantha Louise “Lou” Fleming (Michelle Morgan) has shouldered a lot of the weight to turn things around after taking on a more active role in the cattle business. Her drive and ideas don’t necessarily mesh all the time with the traditionalists like her grandfather Jack Bartlett (Shaun Johnston) and father Tim Fleming (Chris Potter). If things weren’t bad enough, the drought in the foothills of Alberta has threatened the health of the herd. Complicating matters is Lou’s young sister Amy (Amber Marshall) has continued to build a deeper connection with Nathan Pryce, Jr. (Spencer Lord...

The Heartland season 16 ending explained what was in store for the beloved characters and simultaneously concluded storylines while also opening the door for future seasons. The Canadian neo-Western dramedy began all the way back in 2007 and follows the Fleming family and their historic 'Heartland' ranch in Alberta. Across its nearly two decades on the air, the show has woven tales of love and loss and has always approached its storytelling with a family-friendly edge that has made it a beloved TV institution. Despite climbing up past its 16th season on the air, Heartland never fails to find new ways to keep viewers tuning in.

Yellowstone is ending soon, prompting fans to find a new show, and, thankfully, Heartland's first 16 seasons are available on Netflix. Heartland, a Canadian Western show, is lighter and more family-friendly than Yellowstone. Heartland has 17 seasons and is preparing for season 18 in 2024/2025, offering a perfect show for Yellowstone fans to watch.
Yellowstone is coming to an end after five seasons, and consequently, fans need to find a show that can replace the Yellowstone-sized hole in their hearts thankfully, Netflix has the perfect substitution. The Paramount Network's critically acclaimed neo-Western drama, created by Taylor Sheridan and John Linson, has become one of television's most talked about and beloved series, which is what makes the end so devastating. Nevertheless, the Yellowstone universe will continue with sequels, prequels, and spinoff series. However, it might be a while before any are released, making the aforementioned show on Netflix a must-see for all fans.

Tales of Babylon, an Indie dark crime comedy by Pelayo De Lario, is a testament to why I love cinema. Pelayo de Lario is not yet an established name in the industry, but I have a feeling that it’s going to happen very soon. This movie is also a reason why I like British humor. Well, I’m not going to lie, British humor can be pretty disturbing and even very contextual, but it’s also quite eccentric and deadpan nonetheless. Perhaps the most accurate word to describe this form of humor would be ‘cheeky.’ Coming back to this movie, one can’t help but draw similarities between Martin McDonagh’s In Bruges and Seven Psychopaths, Taratino’s Pulp Fiction, and Pelayo De Lario’s Tales of Babylon. As a matter of fact, one of the characters quite openly breaks the fourth wall by referring to Pulp Fiction during...

Heartland has maintained a loyal and growing viewership over its seventeen seasons, with many viewers considering the show's core characters as surrogate family members. The show's focus on family life, set against the backdrop of Alberta's stunning scenery, creates a sense of timelessness and relatability for viewers. Viewers of the beloved drama Heartland have grown up with Amber Marshall. The actress, 35, has portrayed Amy Fleming for more than 15 years, over 250 episodes and counting with season 17 now in production. The series, based on the bestselling books, follows the Bartlett-Fleming family and is set in the picturesque backdrop along the rolling foothills of the Rockies in the fictional town of Hudson, Alberta. Amy enjoys the ranch life surrounded by horses she has cared for and open space. Though the rural setting has been anything but easy living. Much like Amy, Marshall and the rest of the cast have dealt with their own share of loss. One of the show’s stars, Robert Cormier, who played her love interest in Finn Cotter, died last September after a fall. Despite being the longest-running television drama in Canadian TV history, the show continues to build on its existing audience beyond the Great White North.

Amber Marshall is opening up about the tragic loss of Robert Cormier.
The “Heartland” star said the cast of the show was hit hard by the news of his death, but it hurt her on a personal level due to the story they were building between their characters.
“I was working very closely with him and we were building this story between the two characters. And I was really excited about where this story was going,” Marshall shared with Et’s Brittnee Blair. “So not only was his passing kind of was a surprise and a shock to all of us, but then going, okay, how do we move forward with this?”
The most important part in wrapping up Cormier’s character Finn Cotter’s storyline for the team was figuring out how to do it in a respectful way that honoured his work.

The wholesome family saga “Heartland” almost galloped onto the small screen without Jessica Amlee back in Oct. 14, 2007. The Canadian actress and her teenage character, Mallory Wells, were not initially part of the pilot. “They added me in because they needed a younger face,” Amlee tells Et Canada. Flash forward to January 2023, when Heartland will be celebrating its 245th episode. Amlee, for one, can’t help but marvel at the show’s longevity.
“I remember in the first season, I think it was the third episode, we had discovered how many people were watching ‘Heartland’ at the time,” Amlee recalls. “We were shocked it got picked up for a second season. We were living off that high of, ‘Wow, people are actually watching.’ At the time, 500,000 people were watching. It was this huge deal. Then, I started looking up how many people were watching ‘Grey’s Anatomy’ and was like, ‘Ours isn’t that many people.
