Following the streaming success of her Netflix original film, Trigger Warning, Jessica Alba is returning to the action genre once again as the lead in a new spy thriller, The Mark.

Per Deadline, Alba is set to lead The Mark, a new action spy thriller from director Justin Chadwick. Written by Ronnie Christensen, The Mark follows Eden (Alba), an "enigmatic spy on a covert and dangerous mission. When Eden pulls single father Ben Dawson into her world of high-stakes espionage, his life is turned upside down," per the official synopsis. Currently, no other stars are attached to the project, but production on the film is set to begin in July. There is no official release window for The Mark.

After a five-year absence from movies, Alba returned to the limelight in 2024 with Trigger Warning, a Netflix original action movie that became a streaming success in the weeks after its release on the platform.

Netflix's Trigger Warning is an action thriller with a low Tomatometer score but high streaming success. Trigger Warning was filmed in various New Mexico cities. Albuquerque Studios was utilized for some scenes when the cast couldn't film on location.

On the lit side, he represents Mitchell Lafortune (Kandahar), Benjamin Klein (Winning Time), David Schickler (Banshee), directors Miguel Ortega/Tran Ma (The Ningyo), Tiffanie Hsu (Waterschool) and second unit director, Tim Connolly (Old Man). His acting clients include Ryder McLaughlin (North Hollywood), Mikayla Bartholomew (King Richard), Oliver Cooper (Project X) and Nadiv Molcho (Transatlantic).

Slobodin produced New York Emmy-winning documentary 62,000:1 Three Teams, One City, One Year, about the historic stretch in 1969 when the New York Mets, Jets and Knicks all won championships, for Basil Iwanyk’s sports division, Game1 and SportsNet New York.

Prior to expanding into management, Slobodin worked at Iwanyk’s Thunder Road. He started as an assistant and rose over six years to become VP of Production & Development.

Transatlantic is a series created by Anna Winger starring Gillian Jacobs, Cory Michael Smith and Yoli Fuller. It is based on the novel by Julie Orringer.

Without dramatisms, with a wide range of complex secondary plots, aesthetically cared for, with meticulous production and, yes, a light comedy tone from the 30’s that might put some viewers off.

That hasn’t been the case with us, because we find it to be a delightful series.

It is easy to watch and to savor in every shot. A series that aesthetically looks like a movie, that shows the loving care put into the production and, finally, the desire to make “a great series”. Of course, this “great series” does not receive this treatment with respect to the script and does not want to become the neo-noir epic that some will surely ask for.
