‘The Last Exorcist’ Review
Image
Stars: Danny Trejo, Rachele Brooke Smith, Terri Ivens, Nicolas Coster, Leah Ann Cevoli, Branden Smith, Adam Horner, Melanie Brooke Sweeney, Dennis Lavalle | Written by Robin Bain, Amy Brown Carver, Lizzie Gordon | Directed by Robin Bain

I have watched too many Danny Trejo movies to know that just by having his name on the poster and physical media artwork does not guarantee a good movie. Of course, he’s been in some movies I absolutely love but his name is often used when he features for little more than seconds in a movie and I thought that would probably be the case with The Last Exorcist.

I wasn’t far wrong, to be honest but Danny Trejo’s role here could be called a little bit more than a cameo. In The Last Exorcist, we follow two sisters who have had a difficult upbringing and have neither of their parents still with them.

Watch: Danny Trejo’s A Demon-Hunting Priest In The Last Exorcist Trailer
Image
Movies about demonic possession are such a popular subgenre that it can sometimes be difficult to tell them apart, especially since they most often reference exorcism in their title. The latest such offering, The Last Exorcist, is a perfect example of this and has now had a new trailer released.

The story sees a terrorist attack take out all of the world’s priests trained in performing exorcisms, leading to humanity becoming unprecedentedly vulnerable to the actions of demons. Soon after, a young woman named Terri is possessed, leading to her sister Jo seeking help from Marco, who wasn’t killed in the attack for reasons not specified – possibly for being barred from performing the ritual and so wasn’t present when the other exorcists were killed – and the pair of them attempt to save Terri.

With its familiar setup, the movie might have remained in relative obscurity were it not for another factor,...

Danny Trejo Is a Demon-Fighting Priest in The Last Exorcist Trailer
Image
Uncork'd Entertainment has released the trailer for The Last Exorcist. The horror thriller stars legendary icon Danny Trejo as a priest trying to get rid of a nasty demon. "I believe the evil has entered into her body and she's not in her right mind," says Trejo in this first look. There is a lot going on in The Last Exorcist, which may entice horror fans to seek this title out when it becomes available on VOD and DVD October 13th, just in time for Halloween

The Last Exorcist takes place after every priest trained in exorcisms dies in a terrorist attack. Joan Campbell is left to battle a familiar demon that, this time, possesses her sister. This exorcism thriller is about two sisters who are haunted by the demons of their past. The first trailer for the movie sets up the storyline, while also teasing some deep and dark secrets.

Horror Highlights: Insecticide, Black Of Heart, The Last Exorcist, Cruiser
Image
We're back with another edition of Horror Highlights! In today's installment, watch the short film Insecticide, learn more about the new comic book series Black of Heart, watch the trailer for The Last Exorcist, and read an interview with the director of Cruiser!

Watch the Short Film Insecticide: "I made a short horror film during lockdown with my wife that I thought might be of interest - we both suffer from Anxiety Disorder so our mental health during this new paranoid way of living has reached new and old heights - it's the first time I've properly picked up my old Dslr in 3 years.

I wanted to channel what I was feeling and inject the anxious, paranoiac claustrophobia of right now into a short work by setting myself ground rules - That constant nervous energy must be present even behind the camera in every aspect of making this, so...

Danny Trejo Helps Get Rid of a Demon in 'The Last Exorcism' Trailer
The Last Exorcism (2010)
"I believe the evil has entered into her body and she's not in her right mind." Uncork'd Ent. has released an official trailer for an indie horror thriller titled The Last Exorcism, the latest from filmmaker Robin Bain. This exorcism thriller is about two sisters who are haunted by the demons of their past. After every priest trained in exorcisms die in a terrorist attack, Jo must battle a demon on her own. Starring Terri Ivens, Danny Trejo, Rachele Brooke Smith, and Cate Jones. Everything about this is strange, it seems to be more of a vanity project featuring Trejo than anything actually interesting in the horror genre. This trailer is all over the place - wayyy too much going on. And why so much stripping? What an odd bargain bin horror. Here's the first official trailer (+ poster) for Robin Bain's The Last Exorcism, direct from YouTube: After every...

An actress using clips from an unreleased movie for her acting reel is transformative and doesn't harm the market for that film, a California federal judge has ruled.

In May 2018, director Robin Bain sued an actress from her 2016 film Nowhereland for using clips from the movie on her demo reel without permission. The actress, Jessica Taylor Haid, hired L.A. MediaWorks to edit her reel, and the company removed watermarks from the clips, which prompted claims for copyright infringement and violations of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act. Hain countersued for breach of contract and failure to pay minimum ...
