Kristin Scott Thomas is reveling in making her directorial debut, but is skeptical about whether or not she enjoyed pulling double duty as an actress. Thomas recently helmed her semi-autobiographical feature “My Mother’s Wedding,” which she cowrote with her husband, Bloomberg News editor-in-chief John Micklethwait. She also stars in the film as the titular “mother” character, a surrogate for her own mom; Thomas’ onscreen daughters are played by Scarlett Johansson (who just made her own directorial debut with “Eleanor the Great”), Sienna Miller, and Emily Beecham.

“I’ve been curious about [directing] for a very long time,” Thomas told The Hollywood Reporter. “I’ve worked with a lot of directors who were actors at some point, and that is always really interesting for me, an actress, because they see both sides. Kristin Scott Thomas‘s first foray into directing is surprisingly personal.

“It was about about six, seven years ago,” the British star of screen and stage tells The Hollywood Reporter about the origins of her upcoming film. “I realized that my brothers had absolutely no recollection of their father.”

Scott Thomas, the eldest of five children, found herself wanting to make something for her siblings. Her father, an English Royal Navy pilot, died in a flying accident when she was just five. Her mother remarried and had more children with another Navy man, who also passed away in a similar tragedy when Scott Thomas was 11. She used to turn her memories of these two father figures into animated films for her brothers and sisters, but one day, someone suggested she make a feature film instead.

As Horizon: An American Saga remains in the proverbial barn waiting to come out following Chapter 1's release, one of the film's stars rounds up some good news regarding its future. Star Danny Huston offers an encouraging progress report on one of the upcoming sequels in Kevin Costner's four-part affair.

Speaking with Screen Rant, Huston revealed that "a lot" of Chapter 3 has been filmed, despite production on the third installment in the Horizon series stalling temporarily due to financial issues. Christian Bale is prepping hard for his next project, and, of course, fans can expect some physical changes. Popularly known for altering his bodily appearance for roles, Bale is back with as much versatility for the upcoming John Madden biopic. Titled Madden, he portrays the late Oakland Raiders owner Al Davis, and, thanks to People Magazine, we have a first look at his character behind the scenes in Atlanta.

In the new image, the American Psycho star looks unrecognizable, sporting a more weathered version of himself. He was seen in a receding hairline wig with bleached eyebrows and wearing a white V-neck shirt paired with a leather jacket, black slacks, and dress shoes. The look was completed with a series of championship rings. Not long before Bale’s Madden look, co-star Nicolas Cage was also seen in a similarly unrecognizable ensemble, complete with a wavy blonde wig and aqua blue tracksuit.

Amazon MGM has released the first glimpse of Madden, as Academy Award winners Christian Bale and Nicolas Cage could be seen in their roles. Madden is the story of the football legend and face of the Madden NFL video game franchise, John Madden. David O. Russell directs it.

The production has started in Atlanta and will continue until July, though a premiere date has not yet been set. Although the producers have not yet released a teaser, they have shared some set photographs, one of which shows Christian Bale as general manager Al Davis and Cage as Madden.

As seen in the picture (supplied by Deadline), Nicolas Cage’s John Madden and Christian Bale’s Al Davis are both flaunting Super Bowl rings. As Madden served as the Raiders’ head coach from 1969 – 1978, that would put this picture sometime after the team’s Super Bowl XI victory over the Minnesota Vikings. That would be Madden’s only Super Bowl win, although Davis would go on to win it again in 1981 and 1984 (after the Raiders moved to Los Angeles.

The world of NFL is about to go into a frenzy as the biographical sports drama on the late iconic legend John Madden, gears up to soon make a splash in the entertainment industry. Starring Christian Bale and Nicolas Cage as leading figures of the Raiders team, it might as well be one of the most anticipated sports flicks ever.

That said, the movie recently had its first-look image released, featuring both Bale and Cage’s transformation for the same, as Raiders’ team owner and head coach, respectively. Bale portrays Al Davis, the owner of the Raiders during Madden’s time with the team.

The film tracks Madden’s journey from humble beginnings to coaching the Raiders to the Super Bowl in 1976 and later finding further success on television, video games and becoming a reliable pitch man for a wealth of advertisers. The Hollywood Reporter previously reported that the film will serve as more of an origin story of Madden NFL, one of the biggest video game franchises of all time.
