Steven Soderbergh’s ‘Pendulum Project’ Is A Satire Series From Writer Kurt Anderson Featuring Michael Cera, Roy Wood Jr. & Liev Schreiber [Exclusive]
Image
Exclusive: Earlier this year, in Steven Soderbergh‘s annual Seen, Read list—where the filmmaker details everything he watched or read in the year—the “Contagion” and ‘Oceans’ trilogy director unveiled a new venture he shot called “The Pendulum Project.” What is it exactly? Well, Soderbergh didn’t say, but his Seen, Read list did reveal the enterprise was a TV series, making it the third film or TV project he shot in 2022, alongside “Magic Mike’s Last Dance” and the HBO Max mini-series “Full Circle.”

So, what is it exactly?

Let’s Scare Bryan to Death: Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s Resolution with Philip Yount
Image
Welcome back to a new Let’s Scare Bryan to Death, where we’re diving into a freaky whirlpool of addiction, cosmic horror, and meta discussions about storytelling as we explore Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead’s debut feature, Resolution. Joining me for this surreal journey is Philip Yount, a graphic designer, metalhead, and cosmic horror enthusiast whom you likely know from the great Dead Ringers podcast (regulars may remember we had founder/co-host Nolan McBride on for a discussion on Lake Bodom). You can also catch Philip on his Twitch channel, where he’s likely painting fantasy miniatures or playing the odd game or two.

It was actually while guesting on a recent episode of Dead Ringers that I revealed myself to be unacquainted with the work of Monsieurs Benson and Moorhead, and since I’d already been looking for an excuse to chat with Philip about a movie...

‘WWE Raw’ Review (Oct 10th 2022)
Image
Welcome to this review of this past Monday’s episode of WWE Raw, right here on Nerdly. This is the “season premiere” for Raw (though it’s never off TV), which means something of a reboot for the show… so let’s see what went down this week!

Match #1: Johnny Gargano def. Austin Theory The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

In the height of a hard-fought, deeply personal matchup against Austin Theory, Johnny Gargano delivered an earth-shattering kick to the youngest Mr. Money in the Bank in WWE history to knock his opponent outside the ring. Then, after charging through the ropes to to follow up with another Ddt onto the ringside floor, Gargano hit one final Ddt in the ring for the three-count.

My Score: 3 out of 5 Match #2: Rey Mysterio def. Chad Gable The following is courtesy of wwe.com:

Although Rey Mysterio reigned supreme against...

Wamg Talks To Skylar Astin, Camilla Belle, Chad Michael Murray And Herschel Faber About Cavemen
Cavemen is a romantic comedy about how – with a little help from our friends – true love isn’t as evasive as it seems. During a recent press day for the film, I spoke with stars Skylar Astin, Camilla Belle, Chad Michael Murray and director Herschel Faber about filming a love story in La… and just who has the sweetest dance moves out of the bunch. Check it out below.

Cavemen follows La playboy Dean (Skylar Astin) who is fed up with one-night-stands and empty relationships and realizes that he wants something more out of life than just a party. With a little inspiration from his nine-year-old nephew and his best friend Tess (Camilla Belle), Dean decides to try his hand at finding true love for the first time – which proves to be much more difficult than he thought in modern-day Los Angeles.

Cavemen is written and directed by Herschel Faber,...

Resolution Blu-ray / DVD Release Date and Cover Art
After a VOD and limited theatrical release earlier this year, Resolution is headed to Blu-ray, DVD, and digital platforms on October 8th.

Episode Recap: Castle - 1.01: "Flowers for Your Grave"
Richard Castle's (Nathan Fillion) ex-wife, Gina (Monet Mazur) introduces his new and last book, but we don't know she's his ex yet and that she's also his publisher too. Small world. Castle in the meantime is busy demonstrating his true character by signing autograph's on women's chests. He's ending the Derek Storm mysteries series his final book, Storm Fall. (Referring to the death of his famous character, earmarking the death for any literary career when that happens!) Though as he explains to his daughter, Alexis (Molly C Quinn) he's grown tired of him as he knows everything the character's thinking and he doesn't like that. (Pedantically, he would know what the character's thinking, he's writing him!) At least Castle doesn't live vicariously through his characters! Meanwhile Det Kate Beckett (Stana Katic) investigates the murder of a woman covered in rose petals over her body and daisies over her eyes.
