Despite Losing Perfect Rotten Tomatoes Score, Apple TV’s Sci-Fi Epic Is an Instant Streaming Hit Globally
Image
It’s without a doubt that the Season 3 premiere of Apple TV+’s compelling series, Foundation, has left fans yearning for more episodes, but too bad it only airs on Fridays. Created by David S. Goyer and Josh Friedman, the sci-fi epic returned on July 11, 2025, and it’s already making a significant impression on streaming thanks to the super-intense Season 3 premiere, which comes two long years after the Season 2 finale that aired on September 15, 2023.

New Season of Apple TV+ Sci-Fi Show Based on Isaac Asimov’s Book Opens With 100% Rt Score
Image
Apple TV+’s Foundation season 3 has begun with a bang- it has bagged a perfect critic score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes. Early reviews are praising it as an epic and cerebral space odyssey. Season 1 had a 72% score while season 2 reached a flawless 100% perfect critic rating. This indicates that the show has perfected the art of maintaining the same quality as before.

Based on Isaac Asimov’s sci-fi books of the same name, the show gradually evolved from an ambitious adaptation to one that justifies the author’s vision. Throughout seasons 1 and 2, the creators added new characters and changed many more to add depth and nuance to the narrative. Season 3 is all set to take it up a notch with grand spectacles and an uneasy alliance between the Empire and the Foundation. But that’s just the beginning, as the buzz is only building.

Tom Hardy Reveals the Real Reason for the 8-Year Gap Between Seasons of His Hit Drama Series
Image
Actor Tom Hardy may be currently starring in Paramount+’s new crime drama series, MobLand, but in 2017 he co-created and starred in the period drama Taboo. Although it was meant to have another season, it’s now been eight years since the series, which also starred Stephen Graham (Adolescence), Leo Bill, Jessie Buckley, Oona Chaplin, Mark Gatiss, Tom Hollander, and Jonathan Price, aired its last episode.

Hardy co-created Taboo with Steven Knight, who also created Peaky Blinders, and Hardy’s father, Edward “Chips” Hardy. Ridley Scott served as an executive producer. The series followed James Keziah Delaney (Hardy) as he returned to London during the War of 1812 in an effort to rebuild his late father’s shipping empire.

Why Has Taboo Season 2 Taken So Long?

Now, after eight long years, Hardy has confirmed that work on a second season of Taboo has begun. Per MovieWeb, Hardy discussed why it has taken so long between seasons.

Tom Hardy Reveals Why 'Taboo' Is Getting Another Season 8 Years Later
Image
Taboo was a brilliant but underrated 2017 series by the great Steven Knight (Peaky Blinders), with an incredible cast — co-creator Tom Hardy, Leo Bill, Jessie Buckley, Oona Chaplin, Mark Gatiss, Tom Hollander, Stephen Graham, and Jonathan Pryce. Knight said at the time of its release that he had plans for two more seasons, but then... nothing. News about the show trickled out of the industry pipeline over the years, with Knight saying in 2021 that six episodes were written, and producer Dean Baker confirming a second season in 2023. Now we've gotten our biggest update about Taboo yet, and it's not an April Fool's Day joke. Hardy confirmed Season 2 was being written, and while discussing his new show MobLand with MovieWeb, he told us about why it has taken so long and why he's still interested in Taboo.

"I've been busy," said Hardy as to why it's taken eight years. The excellent cast has been busy as well,...

Tom Hardy Confirms 'Taboo' Season 2 Is Now in the Works
Image
Oscar-nominee Tom Hardy has now provided an extremely promising update on the return of one of his most underrated projects. Debuting way back in 2017, the period thriller series Taboo was created by Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight, Tom Hardy, and his father, Chips Hardy, and while talk of a second season has ebbed and flowed ever since, nothing has come of it. Until now.

Speaking with LadBible about his new Paramount+ series MobLand, Hardy revealed that, finally, Taboo Season 2 is now in the works, with the actor once again penning the show. While he doesn’t confirm, it’s likely that Hardy is once again joining forces with Steven Knight for the long-awaited comeback of mysterious adventurer James Keziah Delaney.

Confirming that Taboo Season 2 is now happening, Hardy added...

"We’re writing that at the moment.”

Tom Hardy & 'Peaky Blinders' Creator's 'Taboo' Finds Success Thanks To Free Streaming
Image
A painfully unappreciated series led by Oscar-nominee and Mad Max: Fury Road star Tom Hardy is finally finding some success thanks to free streaming. Only running for one season, the period psychological thriller Taboo has now entered the free streaming charts, and finds Hardy in the lead as the mysterious and mercilessly intense James Keziah Delaney, an adventurer who returns to 1812 London to rebuild his late father's shipping empire.

Debuting back in 2017, Taboo was created by Peaky Blinders' Steven Knight, Tom Hardy, and his father, Chips Hardy. Featuring a stellar cast that includes Leo Bill, Jessie Buckley, Oona Chaplin, Stephen Graham, Jefferson Hall, and David Hayman alongside Hardy, Taboo more than lives up to its title as it plunges audiences into the dark side of 19th-century London and the political and business corruption, violent gangs, and misery that plagued the city.

‘Brides’ Review: Freedom Isn’t All It Seems in a Vibrant but Disquieting Teen Friendship Study
Image
Bad decisions — the kind that can be, if not reversed, at least remedied — are an essential part of adolescence: lapses that teach us about our desires, our impulses, our weaknesses, our essential character, and leave us with no greater damage than a throbbing hangover or a small, smudgy tattoo. Doe and Muna, the British 15-year-olds at the center of “Brides,” either haven’t been given much slack to make the right kind of wrong choices, or haven’t permitted themselves that liberty — so when they do err, it’s in seismically reckless, potentially ruinous fashion. Clearly inspired by cases like that of Shamima Begum, the London teen who traveled in secret to Syria to become an Isis bride, Nadia Fall’s debut feature seems on the surface like a hot-button provocation, but it’s surprisingly humane and good-humored in its attempt to understand the individual lives behind a sensational headline issue.

Sundance 2025: 5 Most Thrilling Horror Films That Are Sure To Blow Us Away
Image
One of the best aspects of the Sundance Film Festival is its Midnight Section, which typically brings a variety of horror films that are ready and waiting to make us jump or curl away from the screen in disconcertment. In 2024, Steven Soderbergh’s Presence, a uniquely told ghost story, surprised and awed, while Infinity Pool disgusted and disturbed. This year’s Sundance Film Festival has plenty of new and exciting horror offerings that are sure to have audiences talking.

When it comes to horror, festival movies are inventive, taking the genre to places we have never been to before. That was the case with last year’s I Saw the TV Glow, which managed to maintain interest long after its Sundance debut. We can never have too much horror, as it’s a genre with plenty to say and where creativity can truly soar. Sundance’s 2025 lineup looks to be...

Foundation Season 3: Confirmation, Cast, Story & Everything We Know
Image
Foundation, Apple TV+'s adaptation of the Isaac Asimov novel series, first aired in 2021, with two seasons currently complete and a third on the way. The first season of Foundation received mixed-to-positive reviews, with praise going to the set design and acting of both Jared Harris, as protagonist Hari Seldon, and Lee Pace as the villain Brother Day, one of a series of genetic clones that rules the Galactic Empire. Season 1 picked up two Primetime Emmy nominations and won two Visual Effects Society Awards and that led to a second season, which premiered in 2023.

The books that the series is based on took the form of a trilogy, published from 1951 to 1953, which was followed by two more books in 1982 and 1986, and prequel novels written in 1988 and 1993. The original trilogy on which the Apple TV+ show is based was originally collected as short stories and novellas and is based on The...

10 Shows to Fill the Void Left by My Lady Jane
Image
My Lady Jane has sadly been added to the ever-growing list of streaming shows canceled after just one season. Despite being praised as one of the best shows of the year so far, the series didn't attract enough viewers to earn another season. While the story did end on a positive note, fans were understandably disappointed by the news, especially since the show only adapted the first half of the book on which it was based. The fanbase is already rallying to save the series, but as they wait to see if another platform will grant their wish, they might want to check out some other shows in the same vein.

With its seamless blend of comedy, fantasy elements, revisionist history and steamy romance, My Lady Jane had a lot to offer viewers. Fans of the series might have a difficult time finding another show that ticks all the same boxes,...

Becoming Elizabeth Canceled at Starz
Alicia von Rittberg at an event for Fury (2014)
Queen Elizabeth I's teenage years will no longer be charted at Starz.

Deadline has revealed the premium cabler has canceled the Alicia von Rittberg series after just one season.

The series launched in the U.S. and Starz territories around the globe in June.

Reviews were decent, but Starz hadn't been forthcoming about viewership statistics, which could signal that the interest was not high enough to sustain the series.

Here's the logline:

Long before she ascended the throne, young Elizabeth Tudor, played by Alicia von Rittberg, was an orphaned teenager who became embroiled in the political and sexual politics of the English court.

The death of King Henry VIII sees his nine-year-old son Edward, played by Oliver Zetterström, take the throne and sets into motion a dangerous scramble for power when Elizabeth, Edward and their sister Mary, played by Romola Garai find themselves pawns in a game between the great...

Flux Gourmet Trailer: Peter Strickland Cooks Up a Delectable Oddity
Peter Strickland in Katalin Varga (2009)
Carving out quite a niche in stylistic psychological horror thrills with Berberian Sound Studio, The Duke of Burgundy, and In Fabric, Peter Strickland returned earlier this year with Flux Gourmet, a culinary-focused oddity that premiered to a great response at Berlinale. Now set for a June release via IFC, the new U.S. trailer has arrived for the film starring Asa Butterfield, Gwendoline Christie, Ariane Labed, Fatma Mohamed, Makis Papadimitriou, Richard Bremmer, and Leo Bill.

Here’s the synopsis: “A sonic collective who can’t decide on a name takes up a residency at an institute devoted to culinary and alimentary performance. Flux Gourmet (2022)
Full Trailer for Peter Strickland's Strange 'Flux Gourmet' Food Horror
Flux Gourmet (2022)
"Cooking and performing is a hazard." IFC Midnght has unveiled the main trailer for Flux Gourmet, a wacky indie horror dark comedy about a "food collective", made by the director of Berberian Sound Studio - Peter Strickland. This premiered at the Berlin Film Festival earlier this year to rather mixed reviews - you'll see why from this trailer. Set at an institute devoted to culinary + alimentary performance, an art collective finds themselves embroiled in power struggles, artistic vendettas and gastrointestinal disorders. It stars Asa Butterfield, Gwendoline Christie, Ariane Labed, Fatma Mohamed, Makis Papadimitriou, Leo Bill, Richard Bremmer. I appreciate the PR description for this one that calls it an "Intoxicating Gonzo Delicacy" - ha! That actually gets my attention. But the rest of this looks so dumb. Just not my cup of tea at all, it's literal artsy-fartsy cinema slop. However, if you like Strickland's films - you do not want to miss this.

‘Flux Gourmet’ Trailer: Peter Strickland’s Culinary Satire Is a Gonzo Confection
Image
“Berberian Sound Studio” and “The Duke of Burgundy” madman Peter Strickland returns with “Flux Gourmet,” another twisted ode to class horror, this time trading in giallo for gastronomy with the story of a collective of gourmands and the internal power struggles that unfold within their midst. Asa Butterfield and “Duke of Burgundy” star Gwendoline Christie lead a cast that also includes Ariane Labed, Fatma Mohamed, Makis Papadimitriou, Leo Bill, and Richard Bremmer. IndieWire exclusively shares the official trailer for the film below.

The sonic collective at the film’s center takes up residency at an institute devoted to culinary perfection, its members going to war with the institute’s head over creative differences. In this universe, music is made with food and youngsters dream of culinary ambitions rather than becoming pop stars. With the various rivalries unfolding, Stones, the Institute’s “dossierge,” has to privately endure increasingly fraught stomach problems...

‘Flux Gourmet’ Trailer: Peter Strickland Brings Culinary Meta Horror to Berlin
Image
Say what you will about British horror director Peter Strickland, but his films are anything but dull. He broke out with 2005’s “Berberian Sound Studio,” a twisted tribute to 1970s Italian horror that established him as one of the genre’s most unique voices. Recent films “The Duke of Burgundy” and “In Fabric” continued to show off his distinctive visual style and unapologetic embrace of weirdness. His fans have nothing to worry about with latest film “Flux Gourmet,” which debuts at the Berlin Film Festival this week and appears to be firmly within his wheelhouse.

As “Berberian Sound Studio” focused on people who make horror movies, “Flux Gourmet” follows a collective of gourmands and the internal power struggles that unfold within the organization. Asa Butterfield and Gwendoline Christie lead the cast, which also features Ariane Labed, Fatma Mohamed, Makis Papadimitriou, Leo Bill, and Richard Bremmer.

The official synopsis for “Flux Gourmet...

Flux Gourmet (2022)
Weird First Trailer for Strickland's 'Flux Gourmet' with Asa Butterfield
Flux Gourmet (2022)
"Silence from an audience was always my fear. And anything I could do to break that silence became more important than anything else." IFC Films has revealed the first teaser trailer for a wacky film titled Flux Gourmet, a sort of strange indie horror dark comedy about a "food collective", made by the director of Berberian Sound Studio. Their goal is to produce art and explore the sounds created by food. Uh, yeah. Set at an institute devoted to culinary and alimentary performance, a collective finds themselves embroiled in power struggles, artistic vendettas and gastrointestinal disorders. It stars Asa Butterfield, Gwendoline Christie, Ariane Labed, Fatma Mohamed, Makis Papadimitriou, Leo Bill, Richard Bremmer. This is premiering at the 2022 Berlin Film Festival this month before a release coming up this summer. I'm not a fan of Strickland's films, and this looks like he went overboard on the artsy-fartsy let's create art from...

Peacock Shares First Look at Craig Robinson Comedy Series ‘Killing It;’ Hulu Announces ‘Life and Beth’ Premiere Date (TV News Roundup)
Image
Peacock has shared the first look at its new upcoming comedy series “Killing It,” streaming this April.

Created by “Brooklyn Nine-Nine” producers Dan Goor and Luke Del Tredici, “Killing It” stars Craig Robinson as Craig, a man who competes in a state-sponsored python hunt in his quest to achieve the American Dream. The series co-stars Stephanie Nogueras as Craig’s ex-wife Camille, Jet Miller as his pre-teen daughter Vanessa and Rell Battle as his younger brother Isaiah. Claudia O’Doherty, Scott Macarthur and Wyatt Walter round out the cast.

“We love all the ambitious, challenging, thematically-rich series that populate the current peak-tv landscape,” said Goor in a statement. “We also love jokes. So, we tried to make a show that could deliver both. We wanted ‘Killing It’ to explore America’s quasi-religious obsession with entrepreneurship and wealth, and we also wanted it to be funny. Really, really funny. Plus, we wanted it to have big snakes.
