Bosch: Legacy season 3 episode 5 recap: The end game comes into view
Image
Throughout the series, and the original series, the moments between father and daughter have been some of the most emotionally rewarding. This year, we’ve seen that parent-child bond in two storylines. During Bosch: Legacy season 3 episode 5, titled “F***ing Politics,” we needed those moments between Bosch (Titus Welliver) and Maddie (Madison Lintz), and Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers) and her daughter Michelle (Aisha Kabia). It was a rough one. Let’s dive into the recap and review of the episode, Spoilers Below!

Maddie Bosch (Madison Lintz) in Bosch: Legacy | Photo Credit: Tyler Golden/Prime © Amazon Content Services LLC Parents and children

For much of the season, Maddie has wrestled with what her father might have done to Kurt Dockweiler. In fact, we were at a point early in the last episode where Maddie started to think Bosch was lying about having Dockweiler killed. But the truth about Preston Borders...

Bosch: Legacy season 3 episode 4 sees one case end as another heats up (Recap and review)
Image
Over the years, we’ve learned never to bet against Bosch (Titus Welliver). That’s the case in Bosch: Legacy season 3 episode 4, "El Compadre," on Prime Video. As he faces scrutiny over the death of Kurt Dockweiler. Did he have anything to do with it? Or is he being played as part of a bigger story? Let’s get into the recap and review of the episode. Spoilers Below.

Bosch: Legacy season 3 on Prime Video Preston Borders meets the Grand Jury

The Preston Borders (Chris Browning) of it all is coming to a head. Honey Chandler (Mimi Rogers) is seeing her race slip away as Bosch faces allegations. She makes a pitch to the Los Angeles Times to keep her endorsement. Her team wants her to distance herself from Bosch, and even he thinks that’s the smart play. But she stands true.

The same can’t be said for...

Bosch: Legacy season 3 episode 3 recap: The LAPD is closing in on Bosch
Image
Over the years we’ve seen Bosch (Titus Welliver) in action. He’s a tenacious detective who works hard to protect those in his sphere. He’s dedicated to justice, but he isn’t above bending the rules to get there. But how far would he go?

This final season on Prime Video is focusing on his possible involvement with the death of Kurt Dockweiler. While we don’t want to believe he’d cross the line—and he’s certainly denied it—are there doubts? Maddie (Madison Linz) seems to have some doubts. Bosch: Legacy season 3 episode 3, "God Sees," is the shortest of the season so far, sought to perhaps cast more doubts. Let's get into the recap and review. Spoilers Below.

What Happened To The Cast Of My Name Is Earl?
Image
We may receive a commission on purchases made from links.

"My Name Is Earl" is one of those sitcoms that remains beloved to a select group of fans but never really caught on in the zeitgeist in a way like "The Office" or "30 Rock" did. It had a great, heartwarming premise of the titular Earl (Jason Lee) wanting to make amends to all the people he's wronged in his troublemaking life. Earl typically hung around an eclectic group of characters to help (or hinder) him along his journey, and there was the potential for the show to make some big waves had it been allowed to continue.

Sadly, "My Name Is Earl" was canceled after four seasons due to negotiation issues between the network and the studio. It was an anticlimactic development, especially seeing as season 4 ended on a cliffhanger with the revelation that Darnell (Eddie Steeples) wasn't the father to Earl Jr.

Would You Rather Movie: Every Party Game Explained
Image
Would You Rather movie showcases brutal party games that escalate in violence, revealing the dark intentions of the host Lambrick. From eating steak to shocking tasks, players must make horrifying choices in a twisted game of survival for a cash prize. As the night progresses, the stakes increase with disturbing tasks like stabbing, whipping, drowning, and eye-slitting, leading to tragic outcomes.

Every party game in the Would You Rather movie is incredibly difficult to watch, but also shows why the chilling 2012 thriller is still widely discussed. Would You Rather stars Brittany Snow as Iris, a young woman looking after her sick brother Raleigh. She gets invited by mysterious philanthropist Lambrick (Jeffrey Combs) to take part in a game that, if she wins, means a bone marrow donor will be found for her brother. Once she arrives at the mansion it soon becomes clear Lambrick's Saw-like game of "would you rather" is one of survival,...

Every Home Alone Movie (Including The Reboot), Ranked
Image
Few franchises are as controversial as the feel-good Christmas family comedy "Home Alone." The first two films are widely beloved, bonafide staples of the American Christmas movie canon. However, the subsequent sequels — of which there are many — are almost universally despised. Most people haven't seen all of the "Home Alone" movies, and they might be left wondering — are any of the follow-up films worth watching?

Some feel that Macaulay Culkin leaving the franchise after the second film is what set the subsequent movies up for failure. In this critic's opinion, the "Home Alone" entries 3-6 suffer from a lot more than bad casting. However, I watched every "Home Alone" movie so you didn't have to, and I am here to answer some age-old questions. Firstly, is "Home Alone 2" better than the original? And secondly, are any of the follow-up films worth watching? My answer might surprise you.

You might disagree,...

Ethan Suplee Hopes My Name Is Earl Gets a Revival to Finish the Story
Image
In a world of reboots and revivals, it seems like it's a better time than ever to bring back My Name Is Earl. Originally debuting on NBC in 2005, the show was canceled in 2009 after four seasons. As creator Greg Garcia had expected the show to be renewed, the series concluded with a cliffhanger at the end of season 4, leaving multiple storylines unresolved. As the show has maintained its fanbase in subsequent years through streaming, there has been interest in a revival, and series star Jason Lee teased in 2020 that he was hoping to see the show revived as "at least like, even a little three-part series."

In a new interview with ScreenRant to promote his new film God Is a Bullet, Lee's co-star Ethan Suplee addressed the chances of My Name Is Earl getting revived. He revealed that Garcia had in fact been pitching the possible revival to different studios,...

‘Hot Seat’ Review
Image
Stars: Kevin Dillon, Anna Harr, Lydia Hull, Mel Gibson, Eddie Steeples, Shannen Doherty, Sam Asghari | Written by Collin Watts, Leon Langford | Directed by James Cullen Bressack

Hot Seat, is the new thriller from director James Cullen Bressack, working from a script by Collin Watts and Leon Langford. And, at least on the surface, it seems to have taken its cue from his other recent thriller, Fortress, one of whose plot threads involved a former hacker forced to break into a financial company’s systems.

Here, that goes from subplot to the main storyline as reformed hacker Orlando Friar’s day goes from bad to worse. After he’s called in on his day off, which also happens to be his daughter Zoey’s birthday his wife Kim serves him with divorce papers. But the worst is yet to come. Almost as soon as he gets to work his computer is...

There's a Bomb Under the Chair in Thriller 'Hot Seat' Official Trailer
James Cullen Bressack
"Stay seated" Lionsgate has revealed an official trailer for the movie Hot Seat, a new trapped-by-a-bomb thriller from low rent action filmmaker James Cullen Bressack. He has been making forgettable action films for years with Bruce Willis, but now that he's retired they've switched over to worknig with Mel Gibson for his next mediocre movie. A reformed hacker turned cyber security technician finds himself in the "Hot Seat" when he realizes that he's just armed a bomb under his chair and he's forced to help a maniacal anonymous caller pull off an impossible cyber robbery. Kevin Dillon stars as the one in the chair, with Mel Gibson as a cop on the bomb squad, plus Shannen Doherty, Sam Asghari, Michael Welch, and Eddie Steeples. The funny thing is that this is pretty much the concept for Speed but transferred over into a "cyber thriller" movie. Even this "time is money...

‘The Guest Book’ Creator’s Awkward Jerry Seinfeld Encounter — Turn It On Podcast
Jason Lee, Jaime Pressly, Ethan Suplee, Eddie Steeples, and Nadine Velazquez in My Name Is Earl (2005)
TV writer Greg Garcia grew up obsessing over sitcoms and comedy — which is why it’s fitting that he wound up in the profession, creating such memorable hits as “My Name Is Earl,” “Raising Hope,” “Yes, Dear,” and his current TBS anthology series, “The Guest Book.”

But he’s still a fan first and foremost, which is why he couldn’t wait recently to finally meet one of his idols, Jerry Seinfeld. It didn’t go as well as he had hoped.

As a kid, Garcia would sneak a peek at “The Tonight Show,” when he was supposed to be asleep, in the hopes that he’d catch Seinfeld as a guest. “I kept watching his career going on, and felt this bond with this person whom I had never met in my life,” he told IndieWire.

When Garcia recently found himself backstage after a Seinfeld show, he couldn’t...

"Would You Rather" See Brittany Snow In Something Else?
Brittany Snow stars in a horror flick that's essentially Saw meets House on Haunted Hill in premise alone. Also starring the incredibly sexy Sasha Grey (there's a reason she gets paid to schtoup on-camera), Jeffrey Combs (a horror icon I never cared about) and Eddie Steeples (My Name Is Earl), the film is about a group of people on hard times who are given a potential way out through a lethal dinner involving moral and desperate decisions.

The Cabining: “Todd and Bruce, a hapless screenwriting team, get one last shot at success thanks to Todd’s wealthy stepdad, Serge. If they pen a worthy horror script, Serge will fund the entire project. But there is one condition – the script must be complete in two weeks. With the deadline looming and no fresh ideas, Todd and Bruce head to Shangri-La, a serene artist’s retreat, with the hope that the peace and company of fellow artists will inspire greatness… or, failing greatness, at least enough for straight-to-dvd. Shangri-La proves to be anything but serene, as the artists die off one by one, seemingly by accident. Bruce convinces Todd to soak in this...

Would You Rather (2012)
Download New Writer/Director Commentary for 'Would You Rather?'
Would You Rather (2012)
Director David Guy Levy and Writer Steffen Schlachtenhaufen have recorded an audio commentary to accompany their grisly thriller Would You Rather? The track, which you can download via Soundcloud below, is synced to the film, which stars Brittany Snow and Sasha Grey as two financially desperate women who, along with others in similar situations, are offered a way out of their troubles by a mysterious aristocrat (Re-Animator's Jeffrey Combs), whose “solution” involves the title game, a horrific series of one-ups with grisly consequences. John Heard, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Eddie Steeples and Charlie Hofheimer also star.

Would You Rather? is available now via iTunes, Amazon and other digital vendors, and you can use the widget below to download the commentary to play along with the film (for your second viewing, of course – no doubt there's spoilers galore in there). It is set to start on the first note of music at the beginning of the film.

Would You Rather (2012)
Exclusive Interview: “Would You Rather” Director David Guy Levy
Would You Rather (2012)
Recently, I got a chance to talk with writer-director David Guy Levy, who’s second feature film (after A Love Affair Of Sorts), Would You Rather, recently came out on VOD [my review can be found here].

The film stars a cavalcade of interesting actors, including Brittany Snow, Eddie Steeples, John Heard, Jonny Coyne, Jeffrey Combs, Enver Gjokaj, and Sasha Grey. The premise is simple: a bunch of varied personalities, all in dire straits for myriad reasons, play a twisted game of “Would You Rather?” that decides their fate.

Levy is also a successful producer, with Terri and August on the resume. Check out our interview below, and before/after/during, be sure to see the movie at SundanceNOW!

Famous Monsters: What inspired you to tackle a career in film, and particularly as a writer-director?

David Guy Levy: Back to the Future. Once I had seen that movie it was pretty clear to me that telling stories,...
