Another addition to The Boys theory rack: Cate Dunlap (Maddie Phillips) could be Vought International’s secret weapon, designed to neutralize Homelander (Antony Starr), one of their biggest threats. Within The Boys and Gen V, Cate’s telepathic control abilities, close alignment with the Seven, and loyalty to Vought place her as a fail-safe agent.
The theory has evidence rooted in how Cate’s loyalty has been cultivated on-screen, her powers, and Vought’s track record of engineered control strategies. Additionally, Cate, under Homelander’s direction, has been responsible for more than a few brutal deaths in The Boys. So, speculating that her loyalty could be a mask covering ulterior motives is not too far-fetched an idea.
Vought Is Already Finding Homelander’s Replacement

Jack Quaid has found what could very well be his career-defining role in Prime Video's "The Boys." The anti-superhero series, based on Garth Ennis' irreverent comic book, cast Quaid as Hughie Campbell. After his girlfriend was accidentally killed by A-Train (Jessie T. Usher), a member of the superhero team The Seven, Hughie joined Billy Butcher's (Karl Urban) titular group of vigilantes. The Boys are dedicated to taking down the team of "Supes," led by the narcissistic and vindictive Homelander (Antony Starr). Now four seasons in with a fifth in the works, "The Boys" has proved a huge hit with audiences and has made Jack Quaid a household name.
Before his role on "The Boys," though, Quaid was almost part of a very different series for Amazon. Between 2013 and 2017, Amazon ran public pilot seasons on Prime Video in which viewers would have the opportunity to watch and give feedback on a range of new series pilots.

The second season of Gen V is all about leveling up.
Fans of The Boys universe packed Ballroom 20 on Friday as Prime Video hosted the first-ever San Diego Comic-Con panel for Gen V. Showrunner Michele Fazekas and cast members Jaz Sinclair (Marie Moreau), Maddie Phillips (Cate Dunlap), London Thor (female Jordan Li), Derek Luh (male Jordan Li), and Hamish Linklater (Dean Cipher) answered questions from moderator and franchise star P.J. Byrne, who stayed in character the entire time as his narcissistic director, Adam Bourke.
Here are the five biggest takeaways we learned about Gen V Season 2 at Comic-Con.

Gen V showrunner Michele Fazekas opened up about how the second season of the college-set superhero series would honor late cast member Chance Perdomo.
Speaking to Entertainment Weekly at San Diego Comic-Con, the producer explained how paying tribute to Perdomo and his character Andre Anderson was top of mind going into the sophomore installment of The Boys spinoff.
“[That was] probably the No. 1 thing we wanted to do,” Fazekas said of commemorating the Chilling Adventures of Sabrina alum. “Just watching the show and watching even just the trailer for it … we did it so long ago and I remember being in the writer’s room and talking about how important it was to honor him. And then when you watch the show, he exists throughout the entire season. It was, in many ways, about Andre and about Chance. And, yeah, I’m very proud of that actually.”

Eric Kripke’s The Boys is more than just a superhero show. It’s no less than a televised reckoning with the violence that power enables. From the very first moment in the show, way back in Season 1, you can understand that the show is not for the faint of heart, as it has wrenched viewers with deaths that are brutal, bizarre, and emotionally devastating.
Whether it is unwitting citizens wiped out by super-speed or accidentally caught in cross-fire between two adversaries, to the show’s characters destroyed from within, each death underlines The Boys’ cynical lens: that unchecked power is profoundly, disturbingly dangerous and sometimes very, very bloody!
So ahead of Season 5 of The Boys, here is a ranking of seven of the most brutal, unexpected, or emotionally scarring character deaths in the Amazon Prime series.
Warning: Some content may be disturbing for some readers!

Jensen Ackles’ Soldier Boy stands as one of the most messed-up The Boys characters. An up-and-coming theory about his romantic entanglement with Grace Mallory is making his character’s backstory feel quite disturbing. Mallory saw right through him and called him out on how women only ever sleep with him because they’re either scared or humoring him.
A statement so insightful into Soldier Boy’s dating life suggests a possibility of Mallory being one of those women. While unconfirmed on screen, his regular attempts at flirting with her do point to something. Many, including Ackles, already see through Soldier Boy’s war hero façade, recognizing his toxic masculinity.
This theory further solidifies his disgusting coercion antics when it comes to having relationships with women. Ahead of The Boys Season 5, let’s dig deeper into the details of a theory that could change the way you view Soldier Boy.

The Boys Season 5 is full of its signature gore and violence, as seen in the brief teaser showcased at the San Diego Comic Con. As Entertainment Weekly reports, at the end of the Gen V Season 2 panel, its parent series had a brief teaser to show the fans. The teaser included a new supe character projectile vomiting a bloody hairball at Kimiko’s cheek, as well as someone having a violent explosion in a bathroom stall.
While Supernatural stars Misha Collins and Jared Padalecki weren’t included in these scenes, they did appear in a blink-or-you-miss-it scene, as did Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy, portraying characters that have not been revealed yet (via Variety). The teaser was brief, but it was full of other teases and clips of the upcoming season.

“The Boys” couldn’t let “Gen V” have all the fun at San Diego Comic Con.
At the very end of the “Gen V” Season 2 panel on Friday afternoon, the upcoming fifth and final season of “The Boys” showed its very first teaser to the crowd of attendees in Ballroom 20. It was a brief teaser, packed with tons of superhero violence and gore — as fans of “The Boys” have come to expect — and quick looks at the new and returning cast members.
The action unfolded quickly, but a couple of the highlights included a new supe character vomiting up what appeared to be a bloody hairball onto another character and someone having what could only be described as a violent explosion in a bathroom stall.
Seth Rogen, who’s an executive producer on “The Boys” and has appeared in a handful of cameos across the previous seasons, also made an appearance in the teaser.

Comic-Con fans attending the Hall H panel for Prime Video’s Gen V on Friday got a treat when a sneak peek at Season 5 of flagship series The Boys was shown in the room.
The reaction from the crowd reverberated outside the doors of the cavernous room as the footage appeared, marking the first look at the fifth and final season of Eric Kripke’s singular superhero series.
The footage included a look at Homelander (Antony Starr), now the de facto leader of America, standing in a crowded room proclaiming the country under his control will be a “safer, God-fearing nation.”
There was a very quick look at Jared Padalecki (met with whoops and cheers), who is boarding the final season in a reunion with Supernatural co-star Jensen Ackles aka Soldier Boy. Misha Collins is expected to make an appearance as well, though we didn’t get a glimpse of him in the footage.

Although we might be preparing to say goodbye to her in the fifth and final season of The Boys, there’s another place where Erin Moriarty’s Annie January, aka Starlight, will be popping up before the grand finale — Season 2 of Gen V. Despite other members of The Boys family, like Chace Crawford’s The Deep and Antony Starr’s Homelander, hopping in during the first season, this will be Starlight’s debut appearance on the popular offshoot.

Eric Kripke’s Prime Video series, The Boys, is a satirical, graphic, and bloody take on the superhero world as well as the world we live in. From Antony Starr’s Homelander being a parody of DC’s Superman to some characters resembling real-life people, the show has no shortage of characters that leave you perplexed and impressed.
Yet, cameos in the series have turned out to be a massive deal, as they aren’t just celebrity drop-ins but narrative statements. With its biting satire of the superhero-industrial complex, the series has often employed high-profile cameos to amplify its commentary, deepen its world-building, or deliver meta punchlines that linger longer than the scene itself.
However, as is the curse of entertainment, not everything can be perfect, and hence, not all cameo appearances are created equal. Some of them shape key plot threads and reflect the show’s obsessive parody of celebrity culture,...

Mortal Kombat 2‘s first trailer leans heavily toward fan service, whether it’s the inclusion of Johnny Cage, set to be played by Karl Urban, or the fatalities themselves. Considering the reception to the 2021 movie was mostly mixed, and Lewis Tan’s Cole Young proved to be one of the more forgettable aspects of it, Cage’s involvement seems like a notable improvement on that front.
In addition to Cage, the trailer also promises more fatalities as compared to the 2021 movie, and it seems the sequel will embrace the franchise’s signature outrageousness in regards to being overtly grotesque.
Karl Urban and Fatalities Take Center Stage in the Mortal Kombat 2 Trailer
Although it’s easy to see why the filmmakers initially used an original protagonist to introduce the audience to the world of Mortal Kombat, going by the sequel’s trailer, it seems longtime fans are in for a treat.

When the Supe War started to take shape in Season 4 of Eric Kripke’s The Boys, Antony Starr’s Homelander sought assistance from some new promising faces. One such name was Firecracker, who quickly rose from a side character to one of the major problems that Billy Butcher and his ragtag group of vigilantes must take care of.
Interestingly enough, Kripke’s superhero spoof show had different intentions for her, where she would merely be a supporting antagonist. In the process of being a provocative figure on screen, she showcased a whole different side that was not part of the script. However, it did not disappoint, as her elitist side was quite an entertainer for the viewers to watch.

The Boys season 5 is teasing a subtle Cas and Dean reference, ahead of the series' Supernatural reunion. The dark comedy-drama, following a team of vigilantes who combat Vought International and corrupt superheroes, was developed by Supernatural creator Eric Kripke. The show has previously featured many nods to Supernatural and stars Jensen Ackles, who famously played Dean Winchester, as Soldier Boy.
As The Boys season 5 approaches, it is confirmed that Supernatural's Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins will join the final installment in undisclosed roles. Ackles, Padalecki, and Collins did a recent interview with TV Insider, where they discussed co-starring in The Boys season 5.
Responding to a fan question about their reunion, Ackles explained that it was "very natural" to share a set again. Collins also teased a Supernatural reference in the upcoming season, revealing that they filmed "in character," and Ackles humorously added to "look for that on the editing room floor.

It is not uncommon to see some people enhancing their cinema experience with a bit of cosplay when they go to see a new movie, however, not many people will turn up as a character from another story entirely. However, at one screening of Superman, someone decided to lord it up in full costume as Homelander from Prime Video’s The Boys – and one person who appreciated the moment was Homelander himself, actor Antony Starr.
In a viral video, shared on Instagram, someone captured the moment that a fan dressed as The Boys’ parody of the Man of Steel showed up with his popcorn to enjoy an early screening of James Gunn’s Dcu movie. If you are going to do it, do it right, right? That is certainly what Starr felt.

Okay DC fam, let’s all just take a collective deep breath because Wow—James Gunn’s Superman (2025) just flipped the entire DC Universe on its head in the most mind-blowing way possible. The film isn’t just a love letter to the Big Blue Boy Scout—it’s a smart, layered, action-packed rebirth of everything we love about Superman. And can we talk about how Lex Luthor’s evil genius was on full display? Man was out here not just stalking Supes, but also cloning him with a single hair strand. Like, Oh My God!
But what really shook fans to their Kryptonian cores was that trippy final fight in the collapsing pocket dimension. Ultraman vs Superman? A black hole?...
Okay DC fam, let’s all just take a collective deep breath because Wow—James Gunn’s Superman (2025) just flipped the entire DC Universe on its head in the most mind-blowing way possible. From those slow-mo punches to Krypto’s chaos, and that insane twist with Ultraman? It was all worth the big-screen watch.

As part of The Boys’ fandom, we at Collider are certainly looking forward to quite a bit of the show’s upcoming fifth and final season. We will be sad to see it go, but when it comes to a series as perfect and well-crafted as this one, it’s best to allow Eric Kripke and the rest of the team to give it a Vikings burial rather than let it become the very thing it’s making fun of. And, although moments like the inevitable Butcher (Karl Urban) vs. Homelander (Antony Starr) showdown are certainly keeping us on pins and needles, there’s another part that is really holding onto our attention — the Supernatural reunion.
Since it was announced that not only would Jensen Ackles be reprising his role as Soldier Boy for the final go-around, but that his Supernatural pals, Jared Padalecki and Misha Collins, would come along for the ride,...

David Corenswet steps into the cape as Superman, and he’s joined by Rachel Brosnahan, Nicholas Hoult, and Nathan Fillion. So far, the movie has made about $21 million just from early previews and has a 95% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, which is a great sign.
But while people are enjoying the movie, something else has gone viral and taken the internet by surprise. During one of the screenings, a fan showed up dressed as Homelander, the superpowered villain from The Boys on Prime Video. Antony Starr just reposted the most hilarious video of a man dressing up as Homelander at a screening for Superman. The James Gunn directorial starring David Corenswet as the titular hero is finally here after the long wait, and has kickstarted Dcu’s first phase: Gods and Monsters.
Starr is renowned for his chilling portrayal of Homelander on The Boys, one of the best superhero shows you’ll ever watch! It’s a mockery and satire of the MCU and DC-obsessed culture, with Homelander being a dark parody of Superman, and that makes it all the more fun! So, let’s take a look at this cheeky crossover in the theater, what the actor thought of it, and how the two superhero characters are connected.

Viola Davis’ G20 Rakes In 50 Million Views On Prime Video Despite Harsh Critic Reviews! (Photo Credit – Prime Video)
Amazon Prime Video’s latest action flick, G20, has pulled in huge numbers despite a lukewarm response from critics. The movie, released on April 10 and led by Viola Davis, wasted no time climbing to the top of Nielsen’s movie chart in its debut week, Deadline reports.
Since then more than 50 million viewers have watched it, placing it among Amazon MGM Studios’ biggest action hits and that puts it in the same league as titles like The Beekeeper, Road House, and Uncharted.

The Studio is one of the most hilarious and brilliant shows of 2025, and that’s why Apple TV+ gave it an early renewal for Season 2, and now it’s coming out that the camera will soon begin rolling on the upcoming season.
The second season of Seth Rogen‘s comedy series is slated to begin production in Los Angeles on December 3, 2025, and the filming is supposed to wrap up by March 19, 2026.
Created by Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, Peter Huyck, Alex Gregory, and Frida Perez, the Apple TV+ series follows Matt Remick, the newly appointed head of Continental Studios, a failing Hollywood film production company. Matt tries to make good movies and make money, but his ambitions are undercut by his people-pleaser personality.

Viola Davis' most recent film, which sees her portray the President of the United States, has become a streaming hit despite mixed reviews. The Oscar-winning actor's action thriller, G20, set an all-time record on Amazon Prime Video just months after its premiere.
According to Deadline,G20 has attracted over 50 million viewers since its streaming debut in April, making it one of the 10 most-watched movies in Prime Video history. Distributed by Amazon MGM Studio, the movie proved especially popular with female viewers, over-indexing among women on the platform, which is understandable considering its high-profile lead star.
G20's popularity on streaming is further underlined by it topping the Nielsen charts during its opening weekend, accumulating 516 million minutes streamed. Due to its success, Davis has sealed another Amazon collaboration as she'll be the lead actor and producer in the thriller, Ally Clark.

Viola Davis has the kind of star power that's not often seen nowadays. She gives off classic Hollywood vibes, not becoming too accessible to the public, keeping her personal life private, but is seen just enough to keep fans wanting more. The Academy Award-winner not only becomes a character, but she also ensures audiences see her as the character and not the beloved star behind the role. From The Woman King to Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, Fences, The Suicide Squad, The Help, and more, there's no placing Davis in a box. This year, she lept into action courtesy of Amazon, and has found huge success on streaming.
Earlier this year, playing President Sutton in the Amazon MGM Studios film G20was added to her list of stellar performances, and the film has been a massive hit on Prime Video since its April 10, 2025, release date. According to Deadline, the Davis-led film...

Series creator Eric Kripke bid farewell to the set for the Prime Video series adaptation of the comic book, sharing a tribute Tuesday on Instagram with a photo of himself in The Seven’s conference room at Vought Tower, looking up at the mural of Homelander (Antony Starr) on the ceiling.
“This is the last time I’ll ever be on this set. It’ll be torn down soon,” he captioned the post. “It’s bittersweet, but my primary feeling is gratitude. We have the best cast, the best crew, the most fun story to write, and something that is impossible to predict: the right timing. You wait your whole career to have maybe two of those things, if you’re lucky. We got all of them.”
