This Super Mario Bros. Movie Spinoff Is Way More Likely Thanks To Nintendo's Next Game
Image
Nintendo's upcoming game featuring Princess Peach increases the likelihood of a Super Mario Bros. Movie spinoff centered around her, as it will make her more popular with audiences. Illumination may be considering spinoffs before continuing the main Super Mario Bros. Movie story, given the lack of development on a direct sequel and the potential to establish other characters. The new Princess Peach game, Princess Peach Showtime, will add depth to her character's story and provide unique action sequences, making her a strong candidate for her own spinoff movie.

The Super Mario Bros. Movie's popularity makes future spinoffs inevitable, and one film looks a lot more likely thanks to Nintendo's upcoming game. Having grossed over $1 billion with a single movie, Super Mario's cinematic future has a lot of promise, and branching away from the protagonist may be possible. Plenty of characters can carry a Super Mario Bros. Movie spinoff...

The Super Mario Bros. Movie Review
Image
Plot: Two plucky Brooklyn plumbers are whisked away to a magic kingdom where they encounter a princess and battle an evil villain.

Review: He’s Nintendo’s most famous character, but boy, has Super Mario ever proven to be a tough character to adapt to the big screen! As we previously covered on our show Awfully Good, the 1993 big-screen live-action version of Super Mario Bros was a disaster. But now, thirty years later, a faithful version of the classic video game series has finally hit the silver screen, with it doing the series justice in the only way they ever really could – by making it animated.

Coming from Universal and Illumination, The Super Mario Bros. Movie seems likely to spin off another popular franchise for the two studios, who already have the Despicable Me, Minions and Sing series going strong. Fans of the game will appreciate all the easter eggs,...

'Super Mario Bros. Movie': Chris Pratt on Why He's Not Doing the Mario Voice
Image
People online have had ambivalent reactions since the announcement of Chris Pratt's involvement in The Super Mario Bros. Movie, especially because Pratt—an American—would be lending his voice to the infamous Italian plumber, Super Mario. The character, based on the Nintendo video game, has been the said company's face for centuries and a part of every Mario fan's childhood. But while the criticism online was understandable by any means, the Guardians of the Galaxy actor has been proving that he is the right choice for the part, with the film's directors – Aaron Horvath and Michael Jelenic – saying that Pratt helps bring authenticity to Mario. Just recently, while on a sit-down interview with the BBC's The One Show, the actor showcased his Mario impression, with Paris Hilton (no less) saying that both Mario and Luigi are "sliving."...

Players can now fight the paranormal with friends in the new Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed asymmetrical multiplayer game, and thanks to the game's character creator, Nintendo's own ghost expert Luigi is now playable in the game. The classic horror comedy franchise has had its share of video game adaptations. A script for a third film in the original Ghostbusters series was eventually adapted into Ghostbusters: The Video Game, a solid sequel written by Harold Ramis and Dan Aykroyd. Now, the latest game to task players to hunt for ghostly enemies is receiving considerable praise for its fun gameplay and writing that faithfully adds to the series' story.

Cast members Ernie Hudson and Dan Aykroyd reprise their roles as Ray and Winston in Ghostbusters: Spirits Unleashed. The ghost-busting experts help guide the player's trainee character to become a new team member that can be relied on to prevent ghosts from haunting one of the game's maps.
