Alyssa Botelho is a writer, director, actor, and producer from historic Fairhaven, Massachusetts.

With a diverse background in the film industry, Alyssa has played pivotal roles as a production assistant, producer's assistant, and script doctor on numerous feature films spanning New England and the Southwest.

In her personal endeavors as a writer and director, Alyssa is deeply engrossed in the post-production phase of her grant-supported short film, "Sweet Freedom," while simultaneously shaping the feature screenplay for "To Dust All Return." This screenplay, awarded with a Rocaberti Writer's Retreat scholarship, promises to take her on a transformative journey to France in Fall 2024.

Graduating with top honors from the University of Rhode Island in 2021, Alyssa's academic excellence was marked by a perfect 4.0 GPA, earning her the University Academic Excellence Award in Film/Media and the Dean's Excellence Award in Management. Notably, Alyssa was the inaugural recipient of the Winifred Brownell Scholarship from the Rhode Island International Film Festival and emerged as a finalist for the esteemed 2021 Marshall Scholarship for Screenwriting at the National Film and Television School in England. Her creative achievements were equally impressive, highlighted by her capstone film, "To Dust All Return," which earned accolades such as "Best Short Fiction" and "Best Director" from the esteemed National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences - New England Colleges/Universities Chapter.

Alyssa's talents extend beyond academia, as evidenced by her success in competitive film festivals. She has earned acclaim and numerous awards, including six honors from the Providence 48 Hour Film Project, culminating in the coveted 1st Place Best Film award in 2021. Complementing her directorial pursuits, Alyssa ardently produces indie shorts and contributes to nationally acclaimed programs for her local access station, firmly establishing herself as a dynamic force within the film and television landscape.
