O'seas 'Affair' appeals to Myriad
NEW YORK -- International film financier, production and sales outfit Myriad Pictures is in final negotiations to acquire all international rights to A Foreign Affair, starring David Arquette, Tim Blake Nelson and Emily Mortimer. Myriad will be offering the film -- which screened at this year's Sundance Film Festival in the American Spectrum section -- at the upcoming Cannes Market. The debut feature of Dutch director Helmut Schleppi, Affair was penned by Geert Heetebrij and follows two naive brothers from small-town America (Arquette, Nelson) who, after their doting mother passes away, travel to Russia as part of a singles program, hoping to find a traditionally minded woman like their mom.
