Horror Highlights: Gunpowder Prophets, Terrestrial, Biker Mice From Mars
Image
Gunpowder Prophets - Coming This October From Mad Cave Studios: "Get ready for a gonzo splatterfest packed with cults, corpses, and consequences…

Mad Cave Studios is proud to announce Gunpowder Prophets, a full-throttle supernatural grindhouse horror series in five blood-soaked issues—written by Justin Jordan (The Strange Talent of Luther Strode), illustrated by Patrick Piazzalunga (Monsters Are My Business), with colors by Roman Stevens (Batman Begins) and letters by award-winning Taylor Esposito, featuring a variant cover by Jorge Corona (Batgirls, Middlewest).

Huck and Marley help people for money. Well, in theory anyway... For some reason, their "help" always seems to involve massive amounts of property damage, a somehow guaranteed collision with the supernatural, and if Marley has his way, a huge body count. They’re the Gunpowder Prophets, and a simple job rescuing a girl from a backwoods cult turns weird when the super groovy leader's supernatural powers turn out to be very,...

‘Attack on Titan’ Is No ‘Dragon Ball’ and It Doesn’t Have to Be Either
Image
There are days when someone chooses violence, metaphorically so, and the entire internet gets swept up in that fire. This time around, the former editor of Dragon Ball, Kazuhiro Torishima, is in the news for drawing a comparison between Dragon Ball and Attack on Titan. Torishima shared his thoughts on how Attack on Titan’s achievements are not as substantial as it failed to leave a lasting impact.

This was during Anime Expo, as reported by @animeupdates__ on X. His words have sparked a debate among the fans of both series, and it’s not a pretty sight. That is simply because it’s unfair to even compare the two in the first place. Dragon Ball is undeniably the foundation of the shonen world, but Attack on Titan is not without its achievements, too.

Where Does the World Go After Dragon Ball? Where Dragon Ball stands for the invention of shonen tropes,...

Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Destination Wedding (2025) ‘Netflix’ Movie Ending Explained: Did Tiffany Say “I Do”?
Image
Tyler Perry’s Madea’s Destination Wedding (2025) adds yet another chapter to the ever-expanding Madea Cinematic Universe. This time, the tough-talking matriarch is whisked away to the Bahamas for what’s supposed to be a lavish destination wedding—but things don’t go quite as planned. With its signature mix of over-the-top comedy and tender family drama, this Netflix entry leans into Perry’s familiar formula while also attempting to touch on themes of generational trauma, love, and control.

The film stars Tyler Perry, Cassi Davis-Patton, David Mann, and Tamela Mann, with new additions like Geneva Maccarone and the returning character Tiffany (portrayed by Diamond White). While there’s plenty of comedic chaos involving dysfunctional family members, beachside brawls, and unexpected guests, the story hinges on a more emotional question: will Tiffany go through with her wedding, or finally break free from a cycle of fear and manipulation?

Virgin River Season 7: Release Window, Production, Cast & All We Know About Netflix’s Small-Town Saga So Far
Image
Everything We Know About Netflix’s Virgin River Season 7 So Far(Photo Credit –Netflix)

Virgin River is not done with your emotions. Netflix’s fan-favorite small-town saga is officially rolling into its seventh season, and while the pace of life in the fictional northern town might be slow, the drama behind the scenes? Anything but. This time, old ties are being tested. And fresh faces are moving in, some with secrets, others with second chances. The season looks ready to stir the pot in a big way.

Virgin River Season 7: Production Timeline

Filming for Season 7 kicked off back on March 12, 2025, and the cameras were expected to stop rolling by June 26. With 10 episodes lined up, the show’s return date is still a mystery. Netflix hasn’t stamped a launch window yet, but given the radio silence on 2025 content lists, early 2026 (maybe around Valentine’s Day) feels more realistic than a late-2025 release.

Virgin River season 7 continues filming in an unexpected location
Image
Last week, the Virgin River cast had fans extremely excited with the most recent update about the hit Netflix romantic drama series. As cameras stopped rolling on season 7, the cast shared various posts on social media celebrating that filming had officially wrapped on the upcoming new season. However, there's now word that cameras might not have stopped rolling as we previously thought.

As What's on Netflix reports, Alexandra Breckenridge and Martin Henderson were spotted filming scenes for Virgin River season 7 in Yucatan, Mexico. It's the first time that the series has filmed somewhere other than Canada, which clearly makes whatever's happening in this storyline a special event. They were the only two cast members seen filming in Mexico. Well, so far.

Breckenridge and Henderson were photographed filming by the water, which seems to lend to some predictions that Mel and Jack could be on their honeymoon... or even perhaps it's a babymoon.

Tyler Perry's New Mystery Thriller Debuts With Fresh Rotten Tomatoes Audience Score
Image
Tyler Perry recently released a psychological crime drama film called Straw. The movie, which debuted on Netflix on June 6, has been a hit with viewers.

Per ScreenRant, the latest thriller from Madea creator Perry has closed out its first weekend on Netflix with some solid reviews from viewers. At the time of writing, Straw holds a 76% approval rating via review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes' user-generated "Popcornmeter," as averaged across more than 250 user-submitted ratings. Although there are not currently enough critical ratings to generate a "Tomatometer" score for the film, early reviews from critics point towards it being a general success.

Written and directed by Perry, who also produced alongside Angi Bones and Tony Strickland, Straw stars Taraji P. Henson as Janiya Wiltkinson, a single mother living with her often ill daughter Aria. Over the course of the film, a series of minor crises eventually build up to a full-blown lethal breakdown...

17 Years Ago Jennifer Aniston’s Flick Catfished Me With Comedy Vibes and Left Me Emotionally Wrecked
Image
With Jennifer Aniston and Owen Wilson headlining the 2008 comedy drama, Marley & Me, I thought I was signing up for a breezy, feel-good comedy about a mischievous dog and the charming couple trying to wrangle him with a blend of lighthearted chaos, and maybe a few wholesome life lessons.

However, as the movie progressed, it blindsided me with an unexpected emotional gut punch, wrapped in the warm glow of romantic comedy vibes, and I’m still not over how deeply this movie catfished me and wrecked me in the process.

Marley & Me: A heartwarming comedy that quietly breaks your heart

Based on John Grogan’s memoir, Marley & Me begins as a lighthearted tale that seems like every dog lover’s dream. When John (Owen Wilson) surprises his wife, Jenny (Jennifer Aniston), with a rambunctious puppy after she expresses a desire for children, they temporarily put parenthood on hold to raise Marley,...

5 of Music History’s Weirdest Supergroups
Image
The best and brightest in a field always gravitate toward each other, whether that’s to smush genitals together or combine their powers to become something even greater. They also tend to be weird as hell, though, so sometimes, their collaborations only become something seriously strange.

5 SuperHeavy

Eurythmics keyboardist Dave Stewart got the idea for SuperHeavy “when he was in his house in the hills of Jamaica, above Saint Ann Parish, listening to three or four sound systems blasting at the same time, the music wafting into the air and blending together.” Not realizing this was unhinged behavior, he recruited Mick Jagger, R&b singer Joss Stone, reggae producer Damian Marley and Bollywood composer A.R. Rahman, and to his credit, the result does sound like someone is playing a bunch of different songs at once. Marley didn’t even seem to know how he got there, having been “pulled into...

Cowboy Films Secures Rights For Kit Conway Novel ‘Cat Fight’ For TV Adaptation
Image
Exclusive: BAFTA and Academy-Award-winning indie production company Cowboy Films has secured the rights in a competitive situation to adapt Cat Fight, the novel by Kit Conway, for TV. The deal was brokered by UTA on behalf of the author.

Bantam will publish the novel in the U.K. on May 15, with the U.S. to follow on June 3 from Atria Books.

Described as Big Little Lies meets Tiger King, Cat Fight is a fun and propulsive novel about three suburban women who, throughout one summer, each use the growing hysteria around a big cat sighting to achieve their own agendas—some more sinister than others. It marks a suspense fiction debut for Conway, who previously worked as a corporate lawyer in London.

“They’re basically the same character”: Attack on Titan Fans Are Worse Than Star Wars Fandom When They Hate Gabi for Being Exactly Like Eren
Image
Attack on Titan fans are usually busy mulling over the ending, unresolved mysteries, or defending the series. As a result, the fandom is mostly unproblematic, except for the times when the discussion turns to Gabi Braun. In such cases, Attack on Titan fans are no better than Star Wars fans. Okay, that might be a stretch, but the hate for Gabi is intense.

It’s not very difficult to make out the reasons that make her such a hated character, but her character arc is strangely similar to Eren’s. Their similarities make the immense love and the extreme hate a bit confusing, as they’re essentially tweaked versions of the same character.

Why do fans hate Gabi so much?

Gabi Braun was introduced during the final arc of Attack on Titan. She was a young Eldian from Marley who aspired to inherit the Armored Titan. Her main goal was to become an honored warrior,...

Coco Jones Enters R&b’s Upper Echelon With ‘Why Not More?’
Image
Coco Jones’ first album may have taken a while to fully come to fruition. But as the question posed by its title indicates, the actor and singer holds the world to pretty exacting standards — and her debut full-length is a confident, sumptuous statement of intent that places her firmly in R&b’s upper echelons.

Jones first came to pop-cultural prominence as a member of Disney extended universe — she starred as the singer and love interest Roxie in the 2012 Cyrano de Bergerac-inspired musical Let It Shine and appeared on its attendant soundtrack.

Attack on Titan: Hajime Isayama Will Always Be the God of Foreshadowing and Eren Was Just Too Dense to Realize It
Image
There are very few anime and manga series in the world that have managed to make an impact as big as Hajime Isayama’s Attack on Titan, which came out in 2009. The series is celebrated on a global level, and although it has concluded recently, it is still considered to be one of the best stories the anime and manga industry has ever seen.

From characters to plot, almost every aspect of Attack on Titan serves to make the series perfect, but the biggest thing that makes Attack on Titan great is the foreshadowing that is hidden throughout the narrative. Attack on Titan Editor: We Had Already Decided “Who would betray who” Even Before the First Chapter

The world of Attack on Titan was constrained within the walls at the beginning. As the story progressed, it expanded at a rapid pace, becoming more complex and colossal with every development. Irrespective of how drastically the story changed, everything came together beautifully at the end.

The Armored Titan in Attack on Titan | Credits: Studio Wit

The credit for the coherent and connected narrative goes to Hajime Isayama’s meticulous planning. It seems like the mangaka already had a vivid idea of where he wanted to take the story. During an interview, the editor of Attack on Titan shared how much of the story was pre planned.

While some parts were developed as the story progressed, others were already decided before the manga even began its serialization. One particular aspect of the story that completely changed the tonality was always a part of the initial plan, but what was it exactly?...

The Titans were introduced as early as the first few chapters in Attack on Titan, yet there are some mysteries surrounding them that remain unanswered. For instance, we still don’t have complete information about their powers, particularly the origin and extent. Like many fans, we have come up with our own Attack on Titan theory to explain a particular Titan from the series.

So here’s a theory that could explain everything about the Armored Titan including its purpose and lack of special abilities.

Cooper Hoffman Teases Gregg Araki’s Bdsm Dominatrix Drama ‘I Want Your Sex’: I Wanted to Be ‘Uncomfortable’
Image
Cooper Hoffman follows the love — quite literally for his upcoming feature “I Want Your Sex.”

Hoffman, who made his acting debut in Paul Thomas Anderson’s “Licorice Pizza,” is set to co-lead Gregg Araki‘s upcoming psychosexual thriller “I Want Your Sex.” Amid the trend of older woman, younger man romances, Hoffman plays the “sexual muse” of a renowned artist (Olivia Wilde). “I Want Your Sex” was announced in August 2024 and began production in Los Angeles in October 2024. The feature, which co-stars Charli xcx, is currently in post-production.

According to Hoffman, “I Want Your Sex” is a Bdsm dominatrix drama — one that has a surprising overlap with his latest film, Simon West’s “Old Guy.” While “Old Guy” has Hoffman playing an assassin learning from an elder hitman (Christoph Waltz), “I Want Your Sex” also pits Hoffman alongside an older mentee … but for eroticism, rather than violence.

“All the movies I’ve done have,...

Attack on Titan: The Last Attack Is a Movie With Nothing New to Offer
Image
The following contains spoilers for Attack on Titan: The Last Attack, in theaters now.

After permanently changing the anime landscape, Attack on Titan finally ended with its highly anticipated fourth and final season. After countless delays and production issues, Attack on Titan: The Final Seasons -- and specifically the two-part TV special Attack on Titan: The Final Chapters -- gave Eren Yeager's long battle for freedom the conclusion it deserved. The film Attack on Titan: The Last Attack revisits that beloved finale by turning it into a movie.

But as enticing as seeing the finale in cinematic scope sounds, that's about all the movie does. The Last Attack isn't just an anime compilation film; it's the laziest version of these kinds of films. The film in no way tarnishes the original Attack on Titan anime or Hajime Isayama's most famous manga work, but anyone coming into the movie with...

Attack on WWE: Hajime Isayama Based Shingeki no Kyojin’s Most Iconic Titan On a Wrestling Legend
Image
At the beginning of Attack on Titan, the Titans were simply monsters who threatened humanity. The revelation about their consciousness made them more intriguing to follow. The Armored and the Colossal Titan played a key role in this reveal. From their fighting styles to their descriptive designs, Hajime Isayama put a lot of thought into their creation.

Unlike the other Titans, the Armored Titan’s movements were extremely human-like. During an interview, the mangaka delved into the inspiration behind the Titans. He also spoke at length about the connection between mixed martial arts and his own ideologies that shaped Attack on Titan. Here’s an exploration of everything Isayama shared.

Mortimer and Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley Take Stock of an Ailing World in ‘In My Time’ Video
Image
Rising reggae star Mortimer and Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley have dropped a powerful and unsettling new visual for their recent collaboration, “In My Time.”

Like the song, the new visual — directed by Pete Beng — takes stock of the state of the world in several clever, surreal, and haunting ways. In one early sequence, for instance, Mortimer’s sunglasses turn into a projector that beams out all kinds of global chaos. Later, Mortimer and Marley perform the song amidst actors playing out vignettes that grapple with senseless violence and the more destructive,...

Attack On Titan's Annie Leaps Straight From The Anime Into Live-Action With Jaw-Dropping New Cosplay
Image
Those who fight back against the bloodthirsty Titans in Attack on Titan are the series' strongest and most resilient characters. One of the mightiest among these fighters is Annie Leonhart, one of the highest-ranked 104th Training Corps members. Annie also had a shocking secret: she was secretly gathering information about the Eldians to share with her fellow Marleyans and attempting to help Reiner and Bertholdt kidnap Eren.

@bakkacosplay has turned themselves into an exact recreation of the powerful Attack on Titan heroine, shown off in talented photography by @photostegi. They are wearing a brown leather jacket, with a white and green logo on the back depicting the outline of a horse's head. This emblem signifies what branch of the military a person has chosen to join after the conclusion of training. Annie's white and green horse symbol is the identifying mark of the Military Police, who guard the king and interior walls.

Attack On Titan's Hange Zoe Cosplay Makes The Iconic Character Work In Live-Action
Image
Attack on Titan's 14th Commander of the Survey Corps, who took over when Erwin Smith died, Hange Zoe, is one of the series' bravest characters. They were extremely interested in Titan behavior and biology, never too afraid to get up close and personal with the beasts to learn everything they possibly could about them in the hopes of stopping them from harming humanity further. Hange's final sacrifice was heartbreaking, valiant, and saved so many lives.

@winkcosplay's depiction of the magnificent hero is astoundingly anime accurate. They are wearing a black bodysuit with silver detailing and silver Odm gear. Odm stands for Omni-Directional Mobility Gear, which the Survey Corps soldiers use to pilot their bodies through the air and get closer to the towering Titans in order to take them down. On the front of their silver Odm gear is the blue and white Survey Corps logo that members of...

10 Strongest Attack On Titan Men, Ranked
Image
Attack on Titan is an exciting series filled with great fights, incredible transformations, and some of the strongest men around. While it may seem redundant to rank the series' strongest men in a series due to a lack of well-written women, some of the strongest characters in Attack on Titan are women, including Annie Leonhart, Mikasa Ackermann, and of course, Ymir Fritz. The men in Attack on Titan are all strong in their own way. Some men, like Jean Kirchstein and Levi Ackermann, rely on their skills as soldiers to get them through the toughest battles.

Other characters, like Zeke Yeager or Armin Arlert, are at their strongest in their Titan Forms, relying instead on their massive size, unreal healing abilities, and more to defeat their enemies. No matter if these characters are fighting for Marley or for Paradis, whether they can transform or not, they're the strongest men in Attack on Titan.

It was too incredible an opportunity.” Watch our complete video interview with Ben-Adir above.

Is Marley & Me Based On A True Story? Real-Life Inspiration Explained
Image
Marley, the yellow lab, is hailed as one of Hollywood's most beloved animals thanks to 2008's Marley & Me, but his story has real-life inspirations. The David Frankel film is the perfect blend of humor, love, and loss, and it is one of the best tearjerker movies that will make anyone cry. It tells the story of newlyweds, John and Jennifer, navigating a new stage of their lives after adopting a troublesome puppy that leaves heaps of havoc in his wake.

John and Jennifer are portrayed by Owen Wilson and Jennifer Aniston, respectively. John spends 13 years with Marley as audiences follow his marital troubles, career strife, and challenges in welcoming the new addition to their family. Not only is the film very emotional, but the ending is incredibly heartbreaking. Marley & Me is based on a real-life memoir of John Grogan, published in 2005.

10 Best Attack On Titan Fights Of All Time, Ranked
Image
Attack on Titan revolves around fights and battles because of the nature of the story. As Hajime Isayama, the mangaka, intended, the series touches heavily on the devastating realities of war and the violence it causes. Because the series takes place during a war between humans and Titans, there are countless battles between characters.

Each of these fights is different. Some involve thousands of people, while some are smaller clashes between individual soldiers. These stunningly animated battles are often gory and horrifying, involving heartbreak, betrayals, injuries, and deaths, but they were necessary to include in Attack on Titan to properly highlight a realistic portrayal of the atrocities of war.

Eren Jaeger has once again caught the attention with an unexpected development between popular culture and marketing strategy.
