WWE’s newest behind-the-scenes series, WWE Unreal, premiered on July 29 on Netflix. The show gave a much deeper inside look into the action that goes behind the curtains with The Final Boss, The Rock being an integral part of this series. The show captured his new persona and creative genius in depth.

Considering all of the WWE crazy storylines we have come across, some of them have been plain senseless, where the writers felt lazy and didn’t put in enough effort to make it seem believable at least. The whole storyline of John Cena and Aj Lee was a strange body of hijinks surrounding Vickie Guerrero’s allegations, and fundamentally poor logic.

Aj, a low-flying star ball of energy who would marry Cm Punk in 2014, and Cena, a muscle-bound baby-faced hero of the WWE, were not only caught up in the controversy, but were clumsily presented feeling embarrassed about the kayfabe relationship. Why would Aj, the number one star on the WWE roster, and Cena, the number one talent in the company, be embarrassed about each other? Let us try to sort through this absurd catastrophe and follow the clues to see where it went wrong.

Rey Mysterio is regarded as one of the greatest luchadors in professional wrestling. He took the legacy of his predecessors and touched greater heights than was unimaginable for the size and stature of a wrestler like him.

The Master of the 619 made his debut in WWE in 2002. He began his rise to the top, battling opponents like Eddie Guerrero, Randy Orton, and Big Show. Four years after his debut, Rey Mysterio captured the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 22 in memorable fashion.

Although he left the company in 2015 and explored outside promotions, it was in 2018 that he returned, and since then, he has been a strong part of the active roster. In doing so, Rey Mysterio has wrestled 1500 matches in WWE, which is a historic feat for any superstar in the company.

However, the former two-time WWE World Champion is still not at the top of that list.

Before Dwayne Johnson made an acting career in Hollywood, he was a professional wrestler who was also great at selling stunners. In fact, he even adds his own flair to it that viewers enjoy. According to “Stone Cold” Steve Austin, The Rock was the best at taking his signature move.

The WWE is popular for its scripted performance inside the ring, and all the more people invest in watching it because they witness dramatic stunts and tense rivalries. This is what sells the show, and while The Rock was so good at his craft, there’s another athlete who seems better at the job.

Dolph Ziggler had an amazing career at WWE after signing a contract in 2004, debuting as Nick Nemeth and later changing it to Dolph Ziggler in 2008 after he re-debuted on Raw with a new image.

John Cena is credited to be one of the greatest WWE superstars of all time. He lead the charge of a WWE era much like his iconic predecessors like The Rock, Stone Cold Steve Austin and Hulk Hogan. In doing so, he became the face of the company and one of the top draws for years to come.

However, the road to Cena’s spectacular success came at the expense of multiple hard-working and talented WWE superstars. The company, in the bid to elevate the 16-time World Champion, sacrificed many talents, with John Cena also playing a role in the process.

That says a lot, as even the vilified New Generation era has bright spots, but the PG Era catered almost too much to a children's demographic for anyone above the age of seven to enjoy. Because of its bad reputation, some of the best matches from that era have gotten lost in the shuffle.

It's tricky to pinpoint the actual timeline for the PG Era. While WWE became PG during the summer of 2008, it never stopped being PG, meaning that some historians have different opinions on when the PG Era officially ended. After all, while WWE is still PG to this day, there was a period when WWE was significantly family-friendly compared to more recent years. For the sake of convenience, this list will focus on matches between the mid-2008 beginning and 2014, when the Reality Era began.

As the calendar flipped over to bring in 2025, it signified an important point in wrestling history. John Cena, perhaps the most decorated WWE performer ever, will have his farewell tour this year. As he makes his final laps in the squared circle, many have been reflecting on his amazing career. Of course, the people who worked with Cena directly during his wrestling days have the best perspective and anecdotes to share.

In a recent radio show, current Tna star and host of Busted Open Radio, Nic Nemeth, reflected with his co-host Bully Ray on working with the Cenation Leader. In particular, he pointed to an interaction regarding Cena turning heel or changing his character, a long-standing topic of debate among fans. During an episode of Busted Open Radio, the former Dolph Ziggler talked about working closely with The Doctor of Thuganomics, and some of the creative decisions that were being made at the time.

If someone were to ask the average wrestling fan who the funniest wrestler on the WWE roster is today, the answer for most fans would be R-Truth. Truthfully (no pun intended), he ranks right up there with legends like The Rock as the funniest wrestlers in WWE's entire 70-plus-year history.

Some would say that R-Truth's WWE comedy schtick has stunted him from achieving serious heights in his career. After all, this is a former Nwa World Heavyweight Champion, and his heel run in WWE is fondly remembered, even if that serious run was hindered by funny moments. However, that's also a testament to just how naturally funny Ron Killings is that he's become eternally pigeonholed into such a comedic role. While his in-ring ability and promo skills are enough to warrant a future Hall of Fame induction, it's his funniest moments that will peg him as a legend remembered forever.
