Ian McKellans Next Role Will Be Alongside This Drag Race Star

As cited on The Hollywood Reporter, the legendary British actor Ian McKellan's next starring role has been confirmed, and it will be opposite RuPauls Drag Race U.K. star, Divina de Campo. The pair will share the lead role in Lisa Ott's stop-motion film, Dragfox. McKellan's iconic booming voice will be used for Ginger Snap the Fox, with Divina set to provide the vocals for the character's drag musical number. The film was written by Ott, Owen Thomas, and John Cooney, with emphasis put on bringing better representation to the world of stop-motion cinema.

Ian McKellen Teams Up With ‘RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K.’ Star for Animated LGBTQ+ Musical ‘Dragfox’

Ian McKellen is teaming up with RuPaul’s Drag Race U.K. star Divina de Campo to share the titular role in the upcoming stop-motion animated film, Dragfox.

McKellen, currently performing in a production of Henry IV, Parts One and Two on London’s West End, will voice Ginger Snap the Fox. De Campo, whose real name is Owen Farrow, will lend her vocals vocal to the character’s drag musical number.

The short film centers around a young trans protagonist, Sam, voiced by newcomer Aidan Gale. As Sam struggles with their identity, they are interrupted by a charismatic neighborhood fox. “Together, this unlikely duo embarks on a magical musical adventure where they discover surprising commonalities and learn to embrace the beauty of their differences,” a plot synopsis reads.

2012 Oakland Underground Film Festival: Official Lineup
2012 appears to be the year for younger, i.e. under 10 years old, underground fests to blow it wide open and go for broke. This time it’s the 4th annual Oakland Underground Film Festival that is expanding its horizons into a blowout four-day, much more densely packed affair, running on Sept. 27-30 at several different locations.

Expanding on the types of films they screen, this year Oakuff is jammed pack with a wide variety of documentaries, thrillers, a bevy of short films and a special tribute to blaxploitation films hosted by BadAzz MoFo’s David Walker.

The fest opens on the 27th with skateboarding filmmaker Stacy Peralta’s latest, Bones Brigade: An Autobiography, which documents his own involvement with California board culture along with peers like Tony Hawk and Rodney Mullen. Following that will be Ya’Ke Smith’s complex drama about the effects of child molestation.

The Awakened Come Alive in this First Trailer!
The Awakened a High Voltage production was given a brief intro' on this site in early February with post-production at that time ongoing. The latest details on the film include a new trailer, a new homepage, and a change in status as the film is currently seeking distribution.

The Awakened involves encounters between some local urban folk and creatures from another world. Mysteriously, these creatures are buried in the soil of a small farm. Things explode when these darkly featured monsters are disturbed after a 200 year slumber. These awakened animals of the night are not just cranky, but bloodthirsty! Guess who receives their wrath?

Farmers and their kin will be running for the hills as the local sheriff (Richard Gross) hopes to intervene. Some possible help for the locals might come from a covert government agent (Robert Picardo), or will he just complicate things further? Viewers will have to follow...

The Awakened Stars New Horror Icon Robert Picardo!
28Dla.com has the goal of becoming Robert Picardo's number one fansite and in order to accomplish this goal an article on Rp's new feature The Awakened is in order. The Awakened is a High Voltage Production that is currently searching for distribution, while shopping itself around on the film festival market. The film was at the 2008 Sacramento Film Festival and the film stars, of course, the great Robert Picardo, Richard Kiel (Pale Rider), Peter Quartaroli (Zodiac), and Richard Gross (7eventy 5ive). Since the film is still looking for distribution few details are available except for the first mysterious poster, as seen left. Stay tuned for a synopsis shortly and more details on Robert Picardo!
