Invincible boss says season 4 is the "highest level of quality"
Image
Prime Video's Invincible is one of those shows that gets better and better every season. The season 3 finale culminated in one of the most epic, brutal, violent battles in superhero history between Mark Grayson and the Viltrumite titan Conquest. Ahead of season 4 (which is likely to air in 2026), co-showrunner Simon Racioppa assures fans that the show will go up another level.

Those of you who've been following Invincible from the start will already be aware that it's not a quick show to produce. Animation is a long process, after all. Fans had to wait over two years between seasons 1 and 2, and when season 2 finally aired, it was split into two parts airing months apart.

The wait for season 3 wasn't quite as substantial, but it still left fans hanging for a year. Looking ahead to season 4, Racioppa says the team was proactive in anticipation of a renewal. “We started the scripts...

“He’s Going to Get Some More”: Battlebeast Is Coming For Blood in ‘Invincible’ Season 4, According to Co-Showrunner
Image
Invincible Season 3 concluded a few weeks ago with one of the highest-rated episodes of TV ever, and it’s already been confirmed that Season 4 will hit Prime Video sometime this year. Mark (Steven Yeun) faced some of his toughest challenges in Invincible Season 3, including his fight against Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), who is largely regarded as the second-strongest Viltrumite in the entire army, second only to Grand Regent Thragg. It’s also been confirmed that Thragg will finally make his Invincible debut in Season 4, but there’s another character set to return who could give even the strongest Viltrumites a run for their money. During a recent interview with ScreenRant, Invincible co-showrunner Simon Racioppa teased the return of Battle Beast in Invincible Season 4 while also revealing what his intentions might be:

"At the end of the last episode, we see that he survived his Viltrumite jailbreak earlier in the season,...

Invincible Co-Showrunner Shares How Much of the Show's Future Is Planned With Robert Kirkman
Image
Robert Kirkman's animatedInvincible adaptation on Prime Video has been a huge hit, and with a fourth season already guaranteed, the series creator is already looking to the future. One of Invincible's co-showrunners shared how far he and Kirkman have plotted ahead.

Speaking with ScreenRant, Invincible's Simon Racioppa shared that the show is already moving forward from Season 3, and they're using the comic book source material to guide them along. "Obviously, we have the books as the groundwork of the series. We've talked about it all the way to the end, and Robert and I have had conversations about it," Racioppa shared, "but in terms of actually sitting down and starting to do work on it, we're just doing season 4 right now. Hopefully, we'll get to do more."

While Season 4 of Invincible is Racioppa and Kirkman's main focus for now, he shared that the two have still talked...

‘Invincible’ Writer Reacts to Rumors That Bruce Campbell Is Secretly Satan
Image
Invincible capped off yet another strong season with one of the highest-rated episodes of TV ever, largely due to Mark’s (Steven Yeun) battle with Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). However, there are plenty of other aspects of the Invincible Season 3 finale that had fans buzzing, including the post-credits scene, which features the return of Damien Darkblood (Clancy Brown). After drawing a pentagram on the floor and summoning what appears to be Satan, Darkblood tells him he has the means to restore him to the infernal throne using a surface-dweller of great power the likes that the planet has never seen. Fans have speculated about whether he’s talking about Mark, Conquest, or even Nolan (J.K. Simmons), and during a recent interview with ScreenRant, Invincible’s Robert Kirkman and Simon Racioppa shed some light on the upcoming Hell storyline:

Robert is a huge part of the show, and in a lot of cases,...

“I don’t think anyone on the show would not want that to happen”: Amazon Missed Out on 2 Major Characters in Invincible War Due to Rights Issue
Image
[spoilers]

Invincible War in the comics saw a lot of Image characters that share the same universe come to the forefront of the comic to fight the various Invincible alternates that had invaded Earth thanks to Angstrom Levy. These characters were some of the biggest names in comics, but there were two in particular who could have been a lot of fun to see in the show, but couldn’t show up because of a rights issues.

The comics saw the Invincible War play out with a lot of characters in the fray, such as Savage Dragon, The Dynamo 5, Capes Inc, and Firebreather, all of whom are mainstays of Image Comics, owned by different artists. While these are very niche characters that fans would have enjoyed seeing in the show, there are two characters in particular that would have elevated an already brilliant episode: and the...

“I’m also of the mind of just, keep it moving”: Real Reason Invincible S3 Scrapped Original Plan to Split Invincible War Arc Into Multiple Episodes
Image
[spoilers]

Invincible War, in the original comics, was a single-issue event that saw Angstrom Levy raid Earth with a slew of alternate Marks, in the hopes of completely demolishing Invincible’s character and his world, causing him to suffer another tragedy and for Levy to have his vengeance.

The Marks of the Other World || Credit: Prime Video

While it would be obvious that they would try to wrap this up in a single episode, that seems to not have necessarily been the case during the production of the episode, as revealed by co-showrunners Robert Kirkman and Simon Racioppa.

Even though Invincible War covered just a single issue in the comics, there was a lot that could be done if it was to be adapted over a few episodes. To begin with, there were about eighteen...

I’m Glad Invincible Season 3 Episode 7 Didn’t Drag the Invincible War That Will Set Up the Show’s Traitor Like a Suckerpunch
Image
Spoiler Alert !!!Spoilers ahead for Invincible Season 3

The latest episode of Invincible covered a lot of ground, from bringing back Angstrom Levy and the Invincible War to the first appearance of Conquest. The show saw some of its most devastating moments during the War as Mark Grayson had to fight his worst enemy: himself and more of himself. However, many felt that it got over too soon.

While it stays true to the comics, I am glad the makers did not drag out the War for more than an episode or worse, the whole season. Invincible is not a show that gives breathing room to Mark Grayson and being a superhero in real life does not always have time outs. It may also set up Rudy Connors’ a.k.a Robot’s betrayal.

Invincible Episode 7 Clip Teases Epic Destruction for Invincible Wars Storyline
Image
It’s a bloody and brutal week for superheroes, both on Disney+ and Prime Video. Whilst Marvel’s Man Without Fear grapples his way back to the screen in Daredevil: Born Again, Mark Grayson will have to deal with a lot of parallel iterations of himself as the show adapts one of the most epic stories from the comics.

Invincible, which follows half-human, half-Viltrumite hero Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), is a brutal and bloody world where he and others have to defend Earth from the ruthless Viltrumite Empire. Whilst the impending invasion of a group of supermen might seem to be a top priority for Mark, Mark will first face his greatest enemy yet… himself, in a storyline co-showrunner Simon Racioppa says was both exciting to produce and daunting to actualize, per Entertainment Weekly.

Robert Kirkman Teases “The Biggest Episodes We’ve Done Thus Far” for Season 3 Finale

Invincible Season 3 is reaching its climax, and things are about to get wild. Robert Kirkman, the show’s creator, has teased that the final two episodes will be the most intense we’ve seen so far.

Episode 6 ended with a major twist: Angstrom Levy, thought to be dead, has returned and assembled 18 alternate Mark Graysons from different dimensions. His ominous words, ‘This will do,’ set the stage for what’s to come.

For those familiar with the comics, you might already expect the Invincible War to be next, a brutal event that could be a game-changer for the series.

Invincible Producer Breaks Down Tragic Motives for Aaron Paul's Powerplex
Image
The following contains spoilers for Invincible season 3, episode 6, "All I Can Say Is I'm Sorry," now streaming on Prime Video.

The latest Invincible episode forces Mark Grayson to confront his past failures but doesn't offer forgiveness.

Speaking to Den of Geek, series creator and executive producer Robert Kirkman discussed adapting the comic's Powerplex storyline and how this villain's agenda reframes Invincible's harrowing season 1 finale in a new light. Jokingly labeling Powerplex (voiced by Aaron Paul) as an "A-Minus" type villain, Kirkman nonetheless felt he "had a point" about the civilian deaths caused by Invincible and Omni-Man's battle and how superhero accountability is treated differently from other humans.

Invincible creator expects new seasons to come out every year
Image
While Invincible may well be one of the best superhero shows on TV today, one thing that's become quite annoying for fans is its release schedule. Since it's an animated show, it naturally takes longer to make. For instance, there was a two-year wait between seasons 1 and 2. And season was aired in chunks of four episodes dropped months apart.

However, with season 3, the show went back to its original format: airing each episode weekly with no mid-season breaks. Hooray! Looking ahead to the show's future, creator Robert Kirkman believes the production is streamlined enough to eliminate long droughts between seasons. "I think that the release schedule that we’re in is much more what we can expect going forward as opposed to the release schedule that we were in between Season 1 and 2," he told Discussing Film.

Kirkman went on to explain that the creative team is working around the clock...

Prime Video's 'Invincible' Should Continue With This Spin-off Story
Image
Quick Links'Invincible's Is One of Prime Video's Biggest HitsThe 'Guarding the Globe Comic' Why 'Guarding the Globe' Is a No-Brainer Spin-off

Once again proving itself as the best adult animated series on TV in 2025, Invincible's third season introduced several changes during its February 6 premiere. For instance, a year-long jump occurred between seasons, with young superhero Mark Grayson, aka Invincible (Steven Yeun), turning 19. Also donning a new blue superhero suit, Mark has more heroic responsibilities as he leaves adolescence behind and enters adulthood.

Although Prime Video has already renewed Invincible for a fourth season, it's a matter of time before Robert Kirkman's rich source material and countless comic sequels and spin-offs are adapted to television. Given what has transpired in Invincible thus far, the most obvious example is Guarding the Globe, a spin-off that has already been touched on in the main series. J.K. Simmons Confirms 'Invincible' Season 4 Production Has Begun
Image
The first three episodes of Invincible Season 3 were only just released on Prime Video, but some fans are already looking ahead to Season 4. Thankfully, Omni-Man himself (J.K. Simmons), has them covered with a positive update on the next season. Invincible Thursdays have made a triumphant return, as Mark Grayson struggles to balance being a full-time superhero with caring for his young half-brother, Oliver, and starting a new relationship with Atom Eve (finally!). The first three episodes were an excellent return to form for the show that lost many viewers due to Season 2's lengthy mid-season break. But Invincible is back, and according to J.K. Simmons, it's here to stay.

During an interview with Collider, Simmons revealed that the show's creator, Robert Kirkman, and the Invincible team have already begun work on Season 4. "Oh, we're on Season 12 already," Simmons joked when asked how many lines he's recorded for the next season.

'The Novelty Has Worn Off': Invincible Creator Weighs in on Superhero Fatigue
Image
Critics argue that comic book film and TV adaptations are well past their peak. But the animated series, Invincible, proves otherwise, advancing the superhero genre with character-driven stories.

Robert Kirkman recently said the superhero genre's appeal has diminished over the years, thanks to the deluge of comic book movies and TV series. But that doesn't mean the fan base has dwindled, or that the audience lost interest. "I don't think superhero fatigue is a real thing, but I do think that the genre of superhero storytelling has become so ubiquitous that it's gotten to a point where it's not fresh, and it's not new," he told Variety. He said new adaptations can succeed by taking creative risks. Invincible is a standout example because, at its core, the show is all about its conflicted characters.

'Invincible': How Strong Is Mark's Brother Oliver, and Is He Dangerous?
Image
With Invincible's third season premiering on Prime Video on February 6, 2025, fans can expect much more of Oliver Grayson/Kid Omni-Man (Lincoln Bodin as a toddler and Christian Convery as a tween). The character was introduced in Season 2, Episode 4, "It's Been a While," the highest-rated of the season on IMDb. Although Oliver is related to the series protagonist Mark Grayson (Steven Yeun), aka Invincible, they have different biological origins and physiological traits that develop their unique superpowers.

As Mark develops his powers and reconciles his human side with his Viltrumite heritage, Oliver must ensure his unique extraterrestrial DNA doesn't turn him into a dangerous villain. To help differentiate the two relatives and their heroic might, it's worth exploring how powerful Oliver Grayson is and how dangerous he may become in Season 3.

Robert Kirkman “Had a concern” Regarding Invincible Season 1 That Could’ve Killed the Show but Thankfully Season 2 and 3 Delivered
Image
Launching a show like Invincible is a flex — ultra-violent action, wild twists, and a hero who actually gets wrecked. But behind the scenes, Robert Kirkman had one nagging fear that could’ve turned his masterpiece into a one-season flop.

Season 1 was a hit, but what if the hype didn’t last? What if people just… stopped caring? Well, seasons 2 and 3 came out swinging, proving Invincible is here to stay.

Robert Kirkman had one big worry after Invincible Season 1: Would people think this was just the Omni-Man Show? That concern could’ve derailed everything.

But with Season 2 setting the stage and Season 3 going full throttle, Kirkman and his team proved this series is much bigger than Nolan Grayson’s brutal legacy.

'It's All Been Unfolding to Me': Invincible Star Hints at Omni-Man's Redemption Story
Image
Omni-Man's villain turn in Invincible was so drastic that fans doubted if he could ever have a convincing redemption story. But J.K. Simmons remains hopeful for his character's hero arc in Season 3.

J.K. Simmons said anything could happen in Invincible, even Omni-Man doing a full 180. The character has been depicted as an extinction-level threat since his mission on Earth was revealed. He remains a conflicted character, but none of his actions (so far) offer hope he can be redeemed. Simmons relishes fleshing out his character's complexity coming into Season 3. In an interview with The Direct, he said they're making strides in painting Omni-Man as a hero, however unlikely. "You definitely can't please all the people all the time, right? SoI think, yeah, there will be some, I think, who will hail Omni-Man and/or Nolan as a hero," he asserted.

Invinciblefans tuning in for the anticipated Season 3 premiere on February 6, 2025, may have been disoriented by the sudden time jump into the future. Yet, far from a continuity error, the narrative choice to jump ahead was made deliberately to accelerate Mark Grayson's (Steven Yeun) heroic development as he exhausts his adolescence.

As Mark enters adulthood on the other side of the time jump, he must make more mature decisions, or he may face legal consequences for his rule-bending superheroism. As for the narrative timing, the time jump also aligns with the series release schedule, accommodating the year-long gap between each season. Regardless, fans should not be shocked by the Season 3 Invincible time jump.

Robert Kirkman Denies "Superhero Fatigue" Ahead of 'Invincible' Season 3
Image
As Prime Video's Invincible returns for its third season on Feb. 6, the superhero genre finds itself in a weird place. What was once the dominating force in theaters has since become a shadow of its former self, with lackluster recent entries from the MCU and Dceu, which has since been taken over by James Gunn and Peter Safran. But shows like The Boys and Invincible have sat beyond the so-called "superhero fatigue" that has infested the box office, as audiences become tired of under-cooked superhero stories.

During a recent interview with Variety, Invincible's creator, Robert Kirkman (The Walking Dead), gave his two cents on the issue of "superhero fatigue," and he believes it's not as simple as audiences becoming sick of superpowers and spandex.

"I don’t think superhero fatigue is a real thing. But, I do think that the genre of superhero storytelling has become so ubiquitous that...

Invincible Season 2 cranked up the heat by introducing more Viltrumites into the fight, while also making things more personal for Mark (Steven Yeun) and his family. The show has proven itself to be one of the best superhero properties on TV today, and that's largely due to its ability to constantly reinvent the wheel. During a recent red carpet interview with Collider's Aidan Kelley, Invincible co-creator Simon Racioppa spoke about raising the stakes in Invincible Season 3, and what that looks like for Mark and the show as a whole:...

Steven Yeun Teases ‘Invincible’ Season 3 as Creator Robert Kirkman Declares: ‘I Don’t Think Superhero Fatigue Is a Real Thing’
Image
Over the last few years, the state of comic book films and shows has grown increasingly uncertain with the phrase “superhero fatigue” getting thrown around following the surprise underperformance of major Marvel films. But Robert Kirkman, co-creator, co-showrunner and executive producer of “Invincible” — the violent animated show ready to unveil Season 3 — remains confident in the genre.

“I don’t think superhero fatigue is a real thing, but I do think that the genre of superhero storytelling has become so ubiquitous that it’s gotten to a point where it’s not fresh and it’s not new,” Kirkman told Variety Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere of “Invincible” Season 3. “You can’t just be a superhero show and not have anything special about you anymore because I think the novelty has worn off. But that’s really exciting to me, because now it means that everyone is so familiar...

"We Had So Many Plans": 'The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance' Writer Wishes They Had More Time to Explore the Gelflings [Exclusive]
Image
In the age of streaming, it's harder than ever for some shows to get a long runway, even if it makes certain more expensive projects possible. One such show that failed to stick for more seasons and arguably deserved better was The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance, the prequel series to Jim Henson's 1982 cult classic The Dark Crystal. Released on Netflix in 2019, the series followed three young Gelflings, Rian, Brea, and Deet, who become the leaders of a rebellion against the tyrannical Skeksis after discovering the threat their plans pose to the planet Thra. Between a high $97.7 million reported budget and the fact that it was already a more niche series, it was swiftly cancelled despite widespread acclaim and an Emmy win. Among those disappointed by the loss was writer Simon Racioppa, who emphasized the team still had a lot of ideas left to explore.

Cartoon Network's Most Unpopular Shows Ever
Image
Cartoon Network has a long history of offering just as many huge disappointments as hit shows. While some cartoons like Adventure Time and Clarence were controversial, they developed a strong fanbase and received many positive reviews. On the other hand, some shows failed to impress most viewers due to weak premises, uninteresting plots, and sometimes simply annoying characters.

From the incredibly disappointing Teen Titans Go! reboot to the ridiculous premise of The High Fructose Adventures of Annoying Orange, some Cartoon Network shows divided fans. Meanwhile, othersfailed to create even enough interest to entice viewers beyond the first couple of episodes, let alone the first season or two.

Updated on January 30, 2025, by Christopher Raley: Cartoon Network has a legacy that stems from a long run of classic shows that revitalized the fun and nostalgia of sitting down to watch cartoons — but they weren't all winners. There was a period where the...

Robert Kirkman wants 8 seasons of Invincible, but it "could be 10"
Image
Prime Video's animated adaptation of Robert Kirkman's comic Invincible is one of the finest superhero shows out there today, which is a huge achievement given the glut of Marvel and DC projects that exist. The series will debut its third season in 2025, with hopefully many more installments to come. On that front, Kirkman believes the team can faithfully complete the story within around eight seasons.

The good news about adapting Invincible compared to adapting Kirkman's other popular comic, The Walking Dead, is that his superhero comic is completely finished. The team has an ending to work towards. With The Walking Dead, Kirkman was still writing the comics long after the series premiered. For Invincible, he can set an accurate timeline for how long he wants it to continue for without having to worry about continuing the source material.

In an interview with Collider, Kirkman weighed in on the longevity of the Invincible TV show.

Invincible creator Robert Kirkman has shared a brand-new update regarding the current status of Season 4, after more than four months since it was officially ordered by Amazon MGM Studios. The hit Prime Video superhero series is based on Image Comics’ graphic novel series of the same name, which was co-created by Kirkman, Cory Walker, and Ryan Ottley.

In addition, he also revealed that they’ve already “mapped out” what they want to do with the story in future seasons. Invincible's Future After Season 4 Gets Intriguing Progress Update From Robert Kirkman: "I Have It Mapped Out"

Invincible may enjoy an extremely long run on Prime Video. Though it has only seen two seasons so far, Invincible season 3 is set to premiere on February 6. February 6 will see three episodes released, which should feature some early conflicts between Mark (Steven Yeun) and Cecil (Walton Goggins). After season 3, however, the future of the show remains murky.

At the Collider's Inside Hollywood panel at Ccxp, Robert Kirkman, Tim Miller, and Dave Wilson spoke, while Screen Rant's Brennan Klein was in attendance. A release date, a guilt trip, and a promise not to invoke a mid-season break arrive in the Invincible Season 3 teaser trailer
Image
No one knows how to make your mediocre job performance sting like a curmudgeonly co-worker at their wit’s end. They seem to know when you’re at your lowest point, then twist the knife to make you feel worse about not having the spoons to deal with tasks and unfinished projects. In Prime Video‘s Invincible Season 3 teaser trailer, Cecil (Walton Goggins) reads Mark (Steven Yeun) the riot act for botching a clean-up job for a group of criminal scum before reprimanding him for a laundry list of questions about why he’s slacking off. Like I said, no one gives you guff like a pissed-off co-worker.

Thankfully, Invincible Season 3 debuts on February 6, 2025, and there’s no mid-season break to give fans a reason to keyboard warrior their way through a period of impatience. Do you know how long it takes to produce an animated series? Exactly.

Invincible Live-Action Movie Development Timeline Gets Clarifying Update From Robert Kirkman
Image
With the better part of a decade gone since it first got in the works, Robert Kirkman offers a disappointing update on the live-action Invincible movie. Well before Kirkman teamed with Simon Racioppa and Prime Video for the hit animated show, the comic book creator was first working with Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg to develop a live-action movie based on his graphic novel series. Even amidst the show's success, Kirkman has frequently assured that the live-action Invincible movie was still in the works, though indicated a desire to get it right has led to its slow progress.

During a recent interview with The Direct at San Diego Comic-Con, Kirkman was asked for an update on the live-action Invincible movie. The comic book creator reaffirmed that the movie is still in the pipeline, though indicated that "it's probably going to be in development for a while longer", even hinting that...

‘Invincible’ Showrunner Teases a Very Fun and Exciting Third Season

Amazon’s animated comic book adaptation Invincible became a major hit, much like The Boys, which it is often compared to. Based on the same idea of parodying mainstream American superhero comics, this animated adaptation of a popular comic offers us a completely new viewpoint on the superhero genre that we are accustomed to.

Despite being an animated series, it was able to garner a lot of attention and turned into one of Amazon’s most well-liked shows in a number of ways. It did this by drawing a sizable viewership and cultivating a very active and committed fan base. It is one of the most fascinating and watched series of today for this reason.

After two successful seasons, the fans are looking forward to the third season. And while we have already reported that the season will come out next year (we will know the exact date before the...

Several Sources Claim that ‘Invincible’ Season 3 Is Coming Soon, Won’t Be as Long as the Seasons 1 and 2 Gap
Image
Much like The Boys, Amazon’s Invincible managed to become a hit. This animated adaptation of a popular comic is based on a similar principle of parodying mainstream American superhero comics, providing us with a wholly different perspective on what we are used to as far as superheroes are concerned.

And while it is an animated series, the series managed to attract a lot of attention and it became one of Amazon’s most popular series in more ways than one, as it attracted a large audience and also created a very large and devoted fandom. This is why it is one of the most interesting and followed series today.

In light of that, fans had been worried that the incredible 2.5-year gap between Seasons 1 and 2 would repeat itself, but several sources claim that Season 3 of Invincible is coming soon and that the dreaded gap won’t be repeating itself...
