Adam was born in San Francisco California. He grew up in San Francisco and the coastal town of Pacifica. His father is a genetic engineer and his mother was a medical assistant. Adam started performing stand up comedy at age 12. Later he auditioned multiple times for SNL and Mad TV but both passed on making him a cast member. He has been a credited cast member on two films that were nominated for best picture in The Oscars, The Pursuit Of Happyness and Milk.

An amateur magician and friend of <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0086145/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">David Blaine</a>.

A jazz and blues guitarist, he toured with Seattle-based band <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm2149824/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Pearl Jam</a> as <a class="ipc-md-link ipc-md-link--entity" href="/name/nm0410076/?ref_=nmtrv_trv">Jack Irons</a>&#39;s drum tech during the 1998 South Pacific Tour at age 17.

Holds a brown belt in Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, and a MMA record of 2-1.

His first cousin is actor Balthazar Getty. (On his mother&#39;s side).
