Biography

Shortly after graduating USC's Engineering school, Alyssa Poteet dove head first into her career... as a comedian. Alyssa is a Meisner trained actress, Groundlings trained improviser, and classically trained singer. In her short professional life she's won 3rd place in the 2018 US Comedy Contest, 2nd in Flapper's Comedy Club's 2020 Uncle Clyde's Comedy Contest, and been a featured performer at numerous events, such as the Portland Comedy Festival, the AMG Comedy Festival and the AV Comedy Festival. She's been described as 'irresistibly fun' and 'unexpectedly thoughtful', and tackles topics ranging from her white trash father, sorority life, gender issues, and politics. When she's not telling jokes, she's creating web content with her sketch group Try Harder Sometimes, performing improvised music with her band Tammy & the Roommates, and hosting her hidden camera YouTube show 'Feet on the Street with Alyssa Poteet'.
