Rebecca Baker was born in London and grew up in Zürich, Switzerland. She is of English, French and Irish heritage.
She trained with the National Youth Theatre and Rose Bruford College. She then began her career on stage, appearing in National Theatre's The Network (2017), starring Bryan Cranston and Michelle Dockery, and Secret Cinema's Romeo + Juliet (2018). Most recently, she starred in Flying (2024) and Hamdardi (2023), which was longlisted for Best Live Action Short Film at the 97th Academy Awards. Both films were screened at the BFI during the 2024 London Film Festival. In 2023, she starred in Layered Reality's The War of the Worlds.
As an actor, writer and producer, her projects include Drowning in collaboration with Silver Milk Productions, comedy-drama miniseries Dancing Through Time, and The Zen of AI, a feature adaptation of her immersive play Dawn of the Transmaton. Other projects include Animal as Executive Producer, a body horror short with director Angelica E. Gayle, The Front Seat, with director Aella Jordan-Edge, and Scratching Post, with BIFA-winning Abigail Hardingham and Oscar, BIFA, & BAFTA-longlisted director Louisa Connolly-Burnham.
