It was a big night for Chris Stapleton at the 55th annual Country Music Assn. awards Wednesday, as the singer took home Album of the Year and Single of the Year among his five trophies overall.

Stapleton won Song of the Year and Single of the Year for “Starting Over” and took album of the year for his record of the same name. He also won trophies as producer on the single and album.

“I want to say thank you to everybody that listened to the record, and everybody that listens to music,” Stapleton said from the stage.

Stapleton is also nominated in the male vocalist and Entertainer of the Year categories.

Update: Luke Combs won the Entertainer of the Year honors, the biggest award of the evening.

“I just want to thank everybody in this room,” he said. “I don’t deserve to win it, but I’m sure...

Dierks Bentley Plays Dwight Schrute, MacGyver in Goofy New ‘Gone’ Video
Image
There are guys in country music who struggle to be funny, and then there’s Dierks Bentley. In his new video for “Gone,” the singer earns easygoing, natural laughs by gamely casting himself as doomed TV characters. He’s a Game of Thrones knight incinerated by a dragon, a MacGyver hero who snips the wrong time-bomb wire, and a Fabio pitchman blinded by perfume. He even does his best Dwight Schrute in an homage to The Office.

The clip also puts Bentley in his element: onstage with his band at his Nashville honky-tonk Whiskey Row.

"Zeroes" Adds Up To Nothing
Sci-fi comedies these days are a tricky thing to pull off. Filmmaking conventions such as story and direction are what truly make any film either a success or a failure. The lackluster indie comedy Super Zeroes tries to be quirky and fun but sadly does not compare to other supernatural comedies of today. It’s just 90 minutes of failed jokes and an uninteresting plot. This lame film has now been released along with its equally lame soundtrack.

Ty (Reece Thompson) and Cody (Blaise Miller) own a Porta Potty business in a small country town. They are considered losers by most of the town and their lives are literally in the crapper. That is until an asteroid crashes into their house one night and they start to develop strange superpowers like turning water into beer. Their dopey friend Teet (Travis Nicholson) is also affected and the three of them must deal...

Tiff 2009 Must See List: Trash Humpers
#1. Trash Humpers [1] Director: Harmony Korine Cast: Rachel Korine, Brian Kotzue, Travis Nicholson, Harmony Korine The last film by Harmony Korine Mister Lonely almost made it's way into my 2009 top 10 list ranking at number 15. The buzz on his latest film has it compared to the works of William Eggleston and his video piece Stranded in Canton. Described as a down n' dirty, lo-fi project or: "handheld video of a loser-gang cult-freak collective who do antisocial things in a non-narrative way, except for the song-and-dance numbers."
