Dr. Katherine J. Mack is a theoretical cosmologist whose work focuses on dark matter, vacuum decay, and the Epoch of Reionization. She holds the Hawking Chair in Cosmology and Science Communication at the Perimeter Institute, and she contributes to Scientific American, Slate, Sky & Telescope, Time, and Cosmos. She is also a science communicator who is known for her participation in social media and her appearances in media.

Theoretical astrophysicist at the Perimeter Institute for Theoretical Physics in Waterloo, Ontario, Canada.

She has a BS in physics from the California Institute of Technology, and a MA and PhD in Astrophysical Sciences from Princeton University.
