- Jody attended the _Monaco Charity Film Festival (2008)_ where she had two feature films competing against each other and a short respectively: Chain Link (2008) winning Best Picture, Chinaman's Chance: America's Other Slaves (2008) and The Guest (2005).
- Jody was awarded the prestigious USO pin for her dedication and years of service to our armed forces performing at various military camp sites and US Naval ships.
- Anastasia King Jaress was married to Jody's son, JonCary Jaress better known as JC Jaress, artist.
- On April 30, 2015, for her years of performing and contribution to the jazz and blues community, Jody Jaress was Honored as a "Jazz Living Legend" and Inducted into the foundation by the Duke Ellington Society of L.A., the Living Legend Foundation, JaZzabration, NAACP Beverly Hills and Hollywood, and by the City of Los Angeles as an official event to celebrate "International Jazz Day" created by the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), and held annually since 2011, around the globe in more than 196 countries to date.
- Jody became a first-time Grandmother on March 15, 2015. Her son JC Jaress and former daughter-in-law Anastasia King delivered their own baby au-natural at home to a healthy, mellow daughter they named Ondine Zoe Jaress.
- Jody has two children JonCary Jaress aka JC Jaress (DOB:1963) and Michele Jaress (DOB: 1967-1998).
