Kaguya Ōtsutsuki was the final villain of the original Naruto series. She is an extraterrestrial being who originally came to Earth to cultivate a Chakra Fruit for her partner, but she betrayed him and took the fruit's power for herself. Kaguya gives chakra to humanity, and her bloodline has continued for centuries through various clans. Given Kaguya's god-like strength, it is no surprise that many of her descendants are powerful as well.
The Senju, Uchiha, Hyūga, Uzumaki, and Kaguya Clans can all trace their lineage back to Kaguya, and each clan has produced Kage-level ninja. Most of Kaguya's descendants wield at least one kekkei genkai that she originally possessed. Many of her descendants can be considered prodigies, and most them can fight a Tailed Beast on their own.

Over time, the Bleach manga/anime franchise introduced somes truly memorable villains and monsters, with the powerful members of the Espadas being the best example. They were the top 10 most powerful Arrancars of all, serving loyally under Sosuke Aizen to fight the Gotei 13 and pray for salvation that would never come. What's interesting is that while Aizen meant to officially rank the Espadas from 1-10 according to power, the numbers don't tell the whole story.
While Aizen seemed satisfied that he ranked the Espadas in correct order in their sealed forms, the Espadas' released forms reshuffled the power rankings a bit, meaning Espada #10 was not the weakest of them after all. In sealed form, Yammy Llargo was certainly the least dangerous of the Espadas as a brute-force fighter, but when all hidden powers and abilities are taken into account, it's #9, Aaroniero Arruruerie, who's at the bottom of the power rankings.

Tite Kubo's hit anime series Bleach features some of anime's most popular characters of all time, judging by how often those characters appear in fan art, fan fiction, social media posts, and several other factors. Anyone who joins the Bleach community will get a general idea of which characters are ignored or disliked versus those the fandom loves the most, although it's important to distinguish between honest opinions and the pointless criticisms of a vocal minority.
The results of official Bleach character popularity polls also say much about how the fandom feels about these characters. The results may change from year to year, which is why we have averaged the popularity ratings of the most beloved characters in the story. Plenty of Bleach heroes and villains alike have risen to the top, and fans can't wait to see them again as the Tybw anime continues.

For the anime uninitiated, "gritty cat-and-mouse thriller about a serial killer" probably doesn't sound like what you'd imagine. Yet, that's exactly the premise of one of the best works produced in the medium: "Monster," the 74-episode anime adapted from Naoki Urasawa's manga.
Inspired by the original "The Fugitive" television series with a European twist, "Monster" follows Dr. Kenzo Tenma. Many years ago, he saved the life of a young boy named Johan Liebert. Now, the doctor has been framed for murders committed by Johan, so he hunts Johan across Germany while dodging the cops. Tenma is not out to prove his innocence or bring Johan to justice, though. He wants to fix the mistake he made by reviving a monster.
The "Monster" anime is basically a shot for shot adaptation, but it colors in Urasawa's realistic Osamu Tezuka-flavored art-style with stellar music and voice-acting. The title sequence, "Grain,...

The Fourth Shinobi World War in Naruto: Shippuden saw all the great shinobi nations join forces for the first time, fighting against a common threat in the form of the Akatsuki, now spearheaded by Obito. Even with the five major shinobi nations united, it proved to be heavily slanted in the Akatsuki's favor, thanks to the help of Kabuto Yakushi and his newfound mastery of the Summoning: Impure World Reincarnation technique. This technique allowed Kabuto to revive the most powerful figures in the Naruto series, many of whom came back at the peak of their abilities or with newly granted boons like Sharingan and Rinnegan implants.
That said, while the revived shinobi defer to Kabuto or Obito's orders, they can speak under their own will and carry out their orders without direct control. Some of the revived shinobi even managed to break free of their shackles to aid the Shinobi Alliance in battle.

The Espada are powerful Arrancar soldiers in Bleach who have varying motivations, backstories, and strengths. Each Espada has their own unique abilities and fighting style, making them formidable opponents in battle. Despite being villains, some Espadas like Starrk and Harribel had more noble qualities and complex personalities.
The Espada are Sosuke Aizen's most powerful soldiers in Bleach, all of them being powerhouse Arrancar who agreed to fight for Aizen's cause and take on Soul Society in battle. There are plenty of things to be afraid of in anime. A tsundere's punch. A '90s dub. A thirteen-episode filler arc. However, ruling anime terror above all else is Japan's expressive and eclectic designs for demons and other supernatural entities. This is a culture that not only pulls from a variety of different cultural sources but has dark, twisted ones of its own.
As such, the anime medium has spawned some of the most terrifying incarnations of demonic forces ever to make heavy metal bands jealous. Decades of content have created a variety of iconic and powerful demons that have acted as both formidable foes and beloved main characters. Putting them side by side, however, this list just can't help but think of who would really rule the anime underworld.
Updated on June 17, 2024, by Ajay Aravind: Some anime demons number among the strongest fictional characters of all time, making them both dangerous and terrifying.

Sometimes, a popular ongoing anime will air while the manga is still being written. When the anime approaches the manga, the studio usually introduces a filler arc to give the manga writer more time to progress the story. Bleach has multiple filler arcs, which means that it has plenty of filler characters. Most of these filler characters are easily forgetable, but a few really stand out because of their personalities and backstories. Certain filler characters are so impactful that some fans wish they were actually canon.
Most of these filler characters only appear in the anime, and many of them are Soul Reapers. That being said, there is one Filler Hollow that really stands out, and there are three filler artificial souls that many Bleach fans adore. Some of these great filler characters only appear in Bleach's animated movies, and they typically help to flesh out a canonical character's backstory.

Anime is such an endlessly versatile storytelling medium because of its ability to tackle any subject matter imaginable, from magical girls, to competitive sports, to high-stakes combat. There's an anime series out there for everyone, but action series — particularly those that adhere to the shonen and seinen demographics — make up some of the medium's most popular series. Ninja Kamui is one of 2024's most exciting new series, and it's quickly made a name for itself as an Adult Swim original production. Ninja Kamui tells a brutal story of revenge where retired ninja assassin, Joe Higan, faces an unimaginable tragedy that sets him on a path of vengeance that pits him against his former employer. Ninja Kamui tells a gripping story that has shades of both John Wick and A History of Violence.

Sasuke Uchiha is Naruto's best friend and rival, and he has become one of the strongest ninja in history. Like other members of his clan, Sasuke has awakened the Sharingan, but he also possesses the Eternal Mangekyo Sharingan, and he obtained the Rinnegan near the end of the series. Sasuke fought villains like Orochimaru, Danzo, Madara, and Kaguya, but there were several other Naruto villains that he never got the chance to fight.
Most of the villains that Sasuke never fought were part of the Akatsuki. Several of them appeared before the timeskip, and they were connected to Orochimaru. There is even a canonical movie villain that Sasuke never faced. Sasuke might have been able to defeat these villains, but many of them would have given him a fair bit of trouble.

The hit shonen action anime Naruto stars protagonist Naruto Uzumaki, an orphan boy who dreamed big. He strove to become the next Hokage, the #1 Leaf ninja, and that would mean not just constant training, but also defeating powerful rivals or enemies along the way. Naruto Uzumaki set himself up to face a lot of dangerous people in battle, but he was ready for it, and he faced that never-ending challenge with bravado.
From start to finish, the Naruto anime series threw all kinds of villains, antagonists, and unfriendly rivals at Naruto Uzumaki, and he overcame them all, one way or another. Some of them were truly vile ninjas who needed to be defeated to protect the peace, while others were misguided or lost souls who got in Naruto's way until they were redeemed. Naruto Uzumaki's worst enemies were the most powerful, most twisted, and most consequential people whom he met on his ninja adventures,...

Grade 1 is the pinnacle of the Jujutsu Kaisen ranking system for most sorcerers, with these individuals being far stronger than Grade 2, 3, and 4 sorcerers. Principal Yaga's cursed technique allows him to create powerful cursed corpses, and Aoi Todo, the youngest Grade 1 sorcerer, is nearly unbeatable in battle. Nanami Kento is the ultimate Grade 1 sorcerer, with immense cursed energy, a perfected technique, expert battle experience, and tactical intellect.
The Jujutsu Kaisen ranking system is used to assign grades to sorcerers, differentiating them based depending on strength, intellect, and battle ability. This system was created by jujutsu sorcerers to evaluate both themselves and the curses they hunt, and the technical system includes seven different grades a sorcerer can achieve, starting with Grade 4 and ending with Grade 1. While there is a special grade rank reserved for those with immeasurable cursed energy and heightened destructive potential, this rank is exclusive to jujutsu anomalies like Yuta Okkotsu,...

Sometimes in order to do a lot of bad, you have to do a little good. That’s the premise behind “The Bad Guys” upcoming holiday special, “The Bad Guys: A Very Bad Holiday.” The 22-minute installment will land on Netflix November 30.
Set prior to the events of the 2022 movie, the special follows the Bad Guys just ahead of their favorite day of the year: Christmas morning. The old Star Wars Expanded Universe may have been dubbed "Legends," but it's still a lot more important than many fans realize. Star Wars has always been a transmedia franchise; the first official tie-in novel, Splinter of the Mind's Eye by Alan Dean Foster, was published back in 1978 - before the release of The Empire Strikes Back. But it wasn't until the 1990s that the franchise's potential began to be realized at last, after Timothy Zahn's Thrawn trilogy and Tom Veitch and Cam Kennedy Dark Empire. Over the next few years, countless writers and artists would expand the universe George Lucas had created. Some of their best ideas would even find their way into Lucas' own movies - with a notable example being the city-planet of Coruscant.

The Prime Directive is Star Trek’s most important rule, but one Star Trek: Voyager comic showed the positive side of breaking the Directive. In the one-shot Star Trek: Voyager: Avalon Rising, the Voyager crew answers a distress call from a planet in the Delta Quadrant, only to arrive and find it the victim of cultural contamination. In order to fix it, they need to break the Prime Directive.
General Order One, or the Prime Directive as it is more commonly known, is Starfleet’s cardinal rule. The Prime Directive prohibits Starfleet and the Federation from interfering in the affairs of pre-warp or non-aligned civilizations. Of course, the Prime Directive has been violated on several occasions, and some of Star Trek’s most compelling episodes have dealt with this, such as the Original Series episode “A Piece of the Action,” as well as Star Trek: The Next Generation’s “Who Watches the Watchers.

Mortal Kombat Legends: Snow Blind is the third and latest installment of the Warner Bros. animated franchise following Scorpion’s Revenge and Battle of the Realms. And it wastes no time getting right into the bloody action. Literally in the first minute of the film a convoy of vehicles pulls looking like it rolled out of one of the better Road Warrior rip-offs smashes through the gates of a town. The occupants begin slicing off heads, ripping out spines, impaling and incinerating the residents in gruesome detail. King Kano and the Black Dragons have arrived, ironically telling the survivors they’re here to protect them in return for a small tax.

The uneven Japanese animated fantasy “The Deer King” often resembles the sort of Studio Ghibli action-adventure that made animation figurehead Hayao Miyazaki internationally famous, especially “Princess Mononoke” and “Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind.” “The Deer King” not only looks like those Studio Ghibli staples, but also follows a plot that recalls Ghibli-style high fantasies: two warring feudal kingdoms try either to capture or enlist Van, a resourceful ex-soldier who may or may not be immune to a devastating plague.
Comparisons between “The Deer King” and Studio Ghibli’s better known movies seem inevitable, especially given how many of this movie’s creators learned their trade as animators and animation directors at Studio Ghibli, particularly co-directors Masashi Ando and Masayuki Miyaji, and key animators Kenichi Konishi and Kenichi Yoshida. Thankfully, what works in so many Ghibli movies also mostly works in “The Deer King,” given the craft and consideration...
