The chief difference between the tiers of passes are the blackout dates, with more reservation availability opening up for weekends and holidays as the price increases.

— Los Angeles Dodgers (@Dodgers) October 23, 2024

After baseball, Valenzuela found a second career as a broadcaster, calling Dodgers games for 22 years before suddenly, earlier this month, announcing he would not be working the postseason so he could “focus on his health.”

Late last year, the Dodgers finally retired Valenzuela‘s No. 34 jersey, the culminating event after the city council declared “Fernando Valenzuela Day.” Indeed, Valenzuela’s name is on a very short list of Los Angeles’ most revered sports figures,...

Jamie Lee Curtis Apologizes For Slamming Marvel: “I Will Do Better”
Image
Jamie Lee Curtis now says she’s sorry for her comments at San Diego Comic-Con shading Marvel. When asked by MTV what phase the Marvel Cinematic Universe was in, Curtis did not hesitate, quickly saying “Bad”.

In a post on X Thursday, Curtis wrote, “My comments about Marvel were stupid and I will do better. I’ve reached out to Kevin Feige and will no longer play in that mud slinging sandbox of competition we call the internet nor will I engage in the toilet paper promotion or game play that is designed for clicks not content or conversation.”

Curtis’ MCU comment followed earlier remarks in which she mocked Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, which she compared unfavorably to her film, the Oscar-winning Everything Everywhere All at Once.

She claimed Doctor Strange was missing “a dynamite dildo fight scene as well as a very erotic hotdog hand-mating dance.

MrBeast Responds To Former Co-Host’s Grooming Allegations: “I Am Disgusted”
Image
YouTube star MrBeast says he is “disgusted” by the grooming allegations made against his former co-host, Ava Kris Tyson, and has taken action “to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast.”

“Over the last few days, I’ve become aware of the serious allegations of Ava Tyson’s behavior online and I am disgusted and opposed to such unacceptable acts,” MrBeast wrote on X.

“During that time, I have been focused on hiring an independent third party to conduct a thorough investigation to ensure I have all the facts. That said, I’ve seen enough online and taken immediate action to remove Ava from the company, my channel, and any association with MrBeast. I do not condone or support any of the inappropriate actions.”

“I will allow the independent investigators the necessary time to conduct a comprehensive investigation and will take any further actions based on their findings,...

The Monkees’ Micky Dolenz Remembers Bob Rafelson And The Role That “Completely Altered My Life”
Image
Micky Dolenz, the drummer of the mid-1960s formed-for-tv band The Monkees that became a pop music staple and Emmy winners to boot, took to Twitter on Sunday to remember Bob Rafelson, one of the co-creators of the musical show.

Rafelson, the film and TV director and producer who was Oscar-nominated for helming 1970’s Five Easy Pieces starring Jack Nicholson, died Saturday in Aspen, Co, at at 89.

Write Dolenz: “One day in the spring of 1966, I cut my classes in architecture at LA Trade Tech to take an audition for a new TV show called, “The Monkees”. The co-creator/producer of the show was Bob Rafelson. At first I mistook him for another actor there for the audition. Needless-to-say, I got the part and it completely altered my life.”

He added: “Regrettably, Bob passed away last night but I did get a chance to send him a message telling him...

As The Audience For Almost Everything Evaporates, We Reach For Occam’s Razor
Image
Where did everybody go?

They certainly weren’t watching the Friday night Tokyo Olympics opening ceremony. The audience dropped to about 17 million, down 37 percent from 26.5 million viewers for the Rio de Janeiro opening in 2016. (Though Saturday was better.)

We know they weren’t at the movies. The box-office dropped 25 percent from last week, as Old and Snake Eyes had weak openings, and Black Widow continued its precipitous fall.

Streaming, or social media? Kinda, sorta, maybe. But it’s hard not to notice that Netflix last week reported a loss of about 400,000 domestic subscribers, while Twitter, though up nicely from a year ago, saw a decline of about 1 million in its active user base, compared to last quarter.

In the media world, it’s beginning to feel like that wispy old song from 1965. Everyone’s Gone To The Moon.

For a while, case-by-case analytics—plus a vague, obligatory reference to Covid...

His ancestors help guide him toward his destiny, and with his father’s teachings and guidance from his childhood love, he earns the virtues needed to reclaim his home and throne.

The new trailer is much more narrative than the previously-released teaser video. It begins with Beyoncé in voiceover saying, “Life is a set of choices. Lead, or be led astray.

Rachel Maddow Says She’s Independently Confirmed Ronan Farrow’s Claim NBC News Told Him To “Pause” Harvey Weinstein Reporting
Rachel Maddow in The Rachel Maddow Show (2008)
Rachel Maddow said that she and her staff have “independently confirmed” that NBC News executives told Ronan Farrow to put a “pause in any new reporting” on Harvey Weinstein, backing up a claim he makes in his new book Catch and Kill.

Maddow devoted her monologue on her MSNBC show on Friday to Farrow’s book, before he joined her as one of her guests.

“We have independently confirmed that NBC News did that,” Maddow told viewers. “That that did happen. He was told to pause his reporting.”

In 2017, Farrow eventually took his story to The New Yorker, which published it. NBC News claimed that the story was not ready for air. But Maddow noted that it was just two months between the time that NBC News declined to air the story and when it was published in The New Yorker.

She also addressed another one of Farrow’s claims...
